I really enjoyed the imagery in this book. This book is supportive of cultural diversity as it is printed in both English and Spanish. I think that is book would be enjoyed by an infant/toddler classroom. I could see children enjoying the process of counting along with the story. While reading the book to a toddler classroom it would be important to emphasize how we are saying the same numbers and objects but in English and then in Spanish.

My fifteen month-old grandson loves this bright board book. The illustrations are simple. Easy to count items on each page.

This book counts from one to ten, and pairs the English with the Spanish terms. The numbers are in both English and Spanish, and there are also pictures to illustrate the numbers. The pictures are also written out in English and Spanish. This was a very simple book, and a great way to introduce students to the Spanish language.
Activities:
This would be a good book to use in kindergarten classrooms when the students are learning how to count. This would also be great for a preschool classroom during perhaps a math lesson.
This would also be a good way to introduce students to speaking Spanish. Anytime foreign languages can be incorporated into the classroom is a good learning tool for students. This could be a social studies lesson to incorporate talking about another student’s culture.

Labeled objects promote the child’s vocabulary skills by showing the child a visual connection to the text, word and meaning. The child’s practice of reading and talking is promoted in the bilingual picture book, My Numbers = Mis Numeros. This book allows for a child to learn the concept of numbers and fosters speech development and language understanding by providing repeated opportunities to say the numbers highlighted in the book. This bilingual book is appropriate for children 12-24 months and is one, depending on which literacy skills are focused on by the reader, which the child can grow with.

The only noteworthy thing about this counting book is that it's bilingual in English and Spanish. That's why I borrowed it from the library--because my daughter has been learning Spanish from her grandfather. Otherwise, the text is fairly standard for counting board books and the cut paper illustrations are unimpressive.

Emberley's simple board book series is delightful and consistent, with bright colors and basic concepts. Good both for bilingual families and for families that want to introduce basic Spanish words.

nice bilingual book about numbers. Is actually not very helpful for letter knowledge because the numbers are made out of animals and are not always a very clear shape.

I think they need to have the phonetic spelling of the spanish words. Not all of use know how to pronounce the spanish words.
