~ Five brothers, one family tragedy, untold heartache. ~
The world callously moved on when my sister disappeared without a trace ten years ago. My life—my family’s lives—froze in grief that torturous summer day. My soul crumbled completely, a few years later, when I buried my son. I survive the agony by hiding it neatly beneath my businessman façade and all the accolades that money can buy. But Harper Devlin is my Achilles heel. The one who got away . . . with my broken heart. Now she’s back and as irresistible as ever. I shouldn’t want her. I can’t have her. But I need her. And she needs me. I may have to conceal all my wounds just to survive being around her again, but I’m willing to do it to help her build her dreams and her business. It’s what I do. It’s what I know. I’m damn good at it. My name is Levi Creed. I am the Rainmaker.
***Reader note: This is the second of a 6-part emotional family saga series. Each story is 100% male first-person point-of-view, and while each full-length novel is guaranteed to have a complete HEA romance, their family mystery remains unsolved until the end of the series. ***Due to profanity and very strong sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

This second book in the Family Creed series is just as amazing as the first one was. It's Levi Creed's story. He lost love of his life when he needed to do what was right, or at least that's what he thought at the time. Later he regretted his decision but what was done was done. Harper was out of his life, his son dead, and his marriage in shambles. His family is still struggling with the loss of his baby sister after all these years. Not knowing what happened to her is killing them. But they are stronger together and somehow they will face whatever happens. When Levi comes home because of his father's health and see Harper again he realizes that he never got over her. He still wants her as much as he ever did. But will she give him a second chance? Harper was hurt when Levi left without backward glance but now he is back in her life. It's hard for her to think of him as 'just friend', he can never be that for her. Because she is still a little in love with him. Soon they stop trying to stay away. This time it might just work between them. It's a touching, heartbreaking, and very romantic story. I love all of Creed brothers and can't wait to read more about the family.
This was better than the first in terms of me connecting with the characters and their chemistry since this story was a second chance, but it still all happened too fast for me. I understand now the books are not that long and I have to accept it and just take the stories as are. The mystery who-dunnit is still the series' strongest pull for me at this point.
This was amazing!!! Levi and Harper became friends and lovers again after a long separation. Levi went through some seriously tough times and was hurting and in pain. Harper loved, healed and saved him. As the rest of the family dealt with issuers regarding Claire, Gen's father and the boys father the family pulled together and showed their strength. Shauna Allen is simply AWESOME!
Levi Creed has lost more than the average thirty-year-old man, and he's channeled his grief into making his business a success. When his father had a heart attack, Levi heads home. Not only is every family gathering clouded by the disappearance of his sister ten years ago, but there is a new development in her case. If that isn’t enough to deal with, he comes face to face with Harper Devlin, his one true love and the girl whose heart he broke while trying to do the right thing.
This author hooked me with the first book in this series, and Levi’s story is just as heartfelt, emotional and compelling as the first book. I loved Levi and Harper's story and was especially taken with the way a kind-hearted, bubbly female could help heal the wounded, calloused hero by simply loving him. If you’re a fan of series romance with a HEA and an ongoing element of mystery, you’ll love the Family Creed Series.
*I reviewed an advance copy of this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide a review and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source for this review.
Talk about a cliffhanger! I literally face-palmed when I turned the last page and it just stopped! Anyway, I love second chance romances and so so glad that Levi and Harper got their second chance. Levi has been through a lot, not just losing his sister but also his wife and son. Harper is definitely what he needs to lighten up his life and help him relax.
It is difficult to describe how much I enjoyed The Rainmaker. As someone that reads approximately 200 books a year it is very hard to find something new and interesting. I have found it with The Family Creed. I received an ARC from the author and this is my freely given honest opinion. I had read the first book in The Family Creed Series, The Executioner, and didn't know how the author was going to top the emotion in it. Well Shauna Allen did! The Rainmaker is an emotional roller coaster that I did not want to end and luckily for me it will not be ending but continuing with The Gunman. Each book stands alone but the underlying storyline is the disappearance of the Creed sister, Claire, over a decade ago without a trace. The Rainmaker is told from the POV of Levi Creed, the second oldest sibling. He's a phenomenal businessman but emotionally, he has been living in a black hole for years. In The Executioner, Levi ran into his college love Harper, and no matter how hard he has tried to bury his feelings for her they are rising to the surface. In the years since he has seen her other than his career, life has not been kind to Levi. Emotionally, he is his own worst enemy. Everyone deserves happiness but will Levi be able to open up his heart and accept his? Does Harper have the strength to work through the issues of his bruised soul? Read The Rainmaker and find out how they find laughter, heartache, loss, steamy sex and love again. My final note is that if you haven't read The Executioner you should. The story is running in a timeline format and you will be at a disadvantage without starting from the beginning. These books are NOT cliffhangers but part of a saga. There is a beginning, middle and end to each book but the completion of the Creed saga is going to be a few books away.
I was given a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.
Devastation seems to be the way of life for Levi Creed. His baby sister went missing ten years ago never to be found. During college, he met the love of his life, only to have an ex come back into his world telling him that he had a baby on the way. Walking away from Harper was the hardest thing he ever did, but he had to make a family, to do the right thing for his unborn child. Years later, his son would be dead, his marriage over and his family still reeling from the disappearance of their only daughter and each of his brothers trying and failing to come to terms with that loss. Turning to the one thing that never let him down, Levi immerses himself in business and making money.
Harper was devastated when Levi walked away without a backward glance. She knew that he and his family had suffered untold agony when his sister disappeared, but she had hoped that they would make it. A silly fight and suddenly he was gone and getting married.
Levi struggles with guilt for many things: not taking care of his sister, not being a better man to Harper, not being a better father and not being a perfect son. When tragedy once again visits the Creed house, he realizes that ignoring his parents and brothers doesn't stop time from moving on and doesn't change the past.
With Harper back in his life, Levi almost must face the past head on and deal with the issues that tore them apart and find out if Harper's love is enough to heal the wounds on his soul.
The second story in this series carries as much impact as the first. Seeing how all the brothers, as well as their parents, have borne the pain of missing a part of them, of their family is astounding. The spirit of the Creed family is struggling and hopefully the answers they find regarding Claire will be a salve to their soul.
Levi hides from his grief by working. When his mom and dad need him he packs up his computer and stays closer to them temporarily. When he goes to a natural food store with his brother he comes face to face with this past. Harper is struggling with business but failure is not an option. When Levi offers his business services can they deny the feelings they had for each other in the past. Levi broke Harpers heart when he left her with no explanation. When she finds out can she forgive him. Harper is the type of person who has a heart of gold. When she wants to renew their relationship she goes all in and doesn't give Levi a chance to stay no. She will help him heal.
With the agony of losing his sister and his son this was an emotional read. You can feel the pain radiate off of Levi. He doesn't think he deserves happiness but throughout the story Harper shows him he does. You see the other Creed brothers throughout the story also. I loved how Harper and Levi were there for Genevieve through a tough time.
I will say that the dream towards the end gave me goosebumps. The epilogue was epic. I can't wait to see what happens with their sister's case.
OMG - The Family Creed is a MUST read! These books can be read as a standalone for the romance, but the family heartbreak/mystery carries throughout each book. In each story, one brother is trying to accept what life has thrown at him, while trying to move on and find some happiness within his life.
This is Levi's story and he has had more heartache than the rest. Back in college he decides to do the right thing by marrying his ex-girlfriend when she finds herself pregnant with his son. With this decision he loses Harper, the love of his life and in the process breaks her heart without a word. After his son suddenly passes and his marriage is over, Levi believes happy is not in the cards for him and decides work is his life. Now Harper has settled close to her friend Eden which is where Levi grew up. Can Levi and Harper have a second chance at happiness? Can she forgive him walking away and help him through all the pain he hides? This story is their second chance at love that you don't want to miss! Every book has more about the family members, their missing sister's case and hints of what is coming. I can't wait for the next book!!! ARC provided by author - this is a voluntary review
(I am rating each book separately, but I did read each of them all together, like in one seating, not in one day I don't mean that ...but I didn't review each book after I read each book, I am reviewing after I have read every book, I think the Rainmaker and The Executioner are my major faves. 2. The Prodigal, followed by The Dove and lastly The Gunman and The Silencer ... they just didn't grab me like the others .. I mean they are emotional ... and raw ... a bit of grit ...but those others I just felt for the boys.) I am debating on the star for each of these reads as well as the novella? I love a good series, I love getting really into the family and feeling like they are old friends. The Family Creed Series, can I narrow it down to just one word ...that explains it all. NOPE. so many layers, like a cake, take one layer away and the whole cake with sham to nothing!! I get why they were meant to be together, don't read out of order or nothing will fall into place. & you would not want that, would ya??! Enjoy these old cover, but get why they were changed. If I went on the new book cover (making those stars reflect my fave) I would pick The Dove (novella) that lady who is on that cover, what a beauty .. those green eyes. maybe not really her eye color but so captures ur curiosity. 2nd spot (between The Executioner or The Rainmaker). 3. definitely the Prodigal ...and for me the other 2 just didn't have me thinking of the characters quite right??! but close kind of situation. Just saying. I have a huge "wordpad" on my computer .. I don't have a i-anything ... I have a laptop ...that give u the wordpad option to make notes and save them. so that is what i do ... wish you could look over my shoulder and see that ...but I don't wanna reveal anything about the series that would be considered a spoiler .. i want u to get your own idea and opinions. totally! I think if you say what books did you connect with most??! The Rainmaker and The Executioner. which books do you have more family mentioned .. more characters introduced??! The Gunman, The Prodigal and The Silencer. Not saying that 1 & 2 ... do not show parents and other characters ...but those others seem to be WAY MORE BUSY. I will say I went in thinking ... it was going to be more gritty ... that is a word I would describe a lot of books I have read in the past ... if you enjoy grit ... maybe The Gunman and The Silencer will have the most GRIT. cuss word ...is that what you are looking for (not me) but those are in all 6. When you read the disclaimer ... u see
"***READER NOTE*** ***This is the sixth and final book of this 6-part emotional family saga series. You have followed the Creed family and gotten each brother’s love story. You also finally know what happened to Claire—it’s time to hear it in her own words. ***Due to violence, graphic content, and potential triggers, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18. Please read with care. ***Also, please take note that The Dove is NOT a standalone novella. It is NOT a romance and it does NOT have a traditional happy ever after ending.
I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH.
It also contains HUGE spoilers for anyone who has not already read the series. So, if you haven’t read the first five books . . . STOP! Do not pass Go, do not collect $200. Go do that first. I’ll wait for you here. I promise it’s worth it. Here they are in order: The Executioner (Asher Creed) The Rainmaker (Levi Creed) The Gunman (Jamison Creed) The Prodigal (Joshua Creed) The Silencer (Silas Creed) If you have read all of these, well, then you’re ready for Claire’s story. Buckle your seatbelts, kids. It’s about to get emotional."
and I would agree sort of. what of the book is the most dark ... The Executioner or The Gunman. But i guess a few others have pieces of that? I guess for me ... when I read the novella that last book I wanted a bang to end it all ... kind of like Game of Thrones ... u have the build up and it keeps building up and then it falls ... not that it doesn't end ...but u know ... or at least i think u know??! no spoilers .. nope. not going to do it. I would say I went into this series thinking it was going to be a really rough and tough series to read ... I have really read some gritty rough and tough language kind of reads and don't get me wrong there are tons of cuss words throughout ... could totally be swore ... i think the words are throughout ...but on a norm ...is is not the grit-est book series i have read ... could have been a heck of a lot worse. There are bits and pieces throughout the books about Claire ...I think it is a series you totally need to read each and every book .. I prefer series like that over any other ... if you are going to put in the effort to really get to know an author if that author is new to you kind of situation ...but don't get me wrong i also enjoy a author who does standalones read too . .. u gotta love what you love. i get why authors do standalones. There is a lot of texting between the brothers ...which makes it seem very realistic or present day logic. I think the parents are kind of a backstory ...they are not the front story, if that makes sense. like you see more of the parents in book 1 & 2. and for some reason Silas is in several of the books where the other brothers keep a more when u need to know u know kind of basics??! I think a lot of what is confusing can or could be the changing of names ... like sometimes they use real names, or nicknames ...u gotta grab onto that keep it in the memory bank for sure. I think Levi acts the oldest ...the others act more young??! if that is even a thing??! I think in the Prodigal book you get more family ...interacting and such??! Lots more news (major details, keep ur nose clean and eyes open!!) in Prodigal than the others??! but at times I did get a bit confused over the names ... Eden is there a lot .. was she seen like in most of the books ... trying to jog my memory??! am I glad I read this series, HECK YEAH!! well done ... u will feel the emotions ... well bad, good, or what?? or OH MY GOODNESS. I am curious which book the author wrote 1st? like did she start at the end or what ... working out that plan??!
The emotion portrayed in this family saga is so raw and real. I could feel their individual pain, their love and compassion. Heart wrenching and hope instilling, this family individually and together face incredible odds. Can they find themselves through all the terror and turmoil to find their own happy ending?
Levi has lost more than any man should have to. His sister, his true love, his son. But Harper is back. And just as sexy and beautiful inside and out as she ever was. He has to find a way to get close again after the way he left her.
Harper can't believe it when she sees Levi again. He's all she has ever loved. And that apparently hasn't changed. Neither has their chemistry. Just as explosive as ever. But can she crack the walls he has so carefully erected around his heart?
Their second chance together proves to be full of emotion. Passion, humor, compassion and love. But with his family facing new and uncertain findings about his baby sister and an unexpected development with Harper can Levi step up and be the man Harper deserves or will he once again break her heart?
Can't wait to find out what happens next with this family!
I didn't think I would love anyone more than Asher, but I was dead wrong. My heart broke for Levi and all that he's lost. He was a broken man that needed the right woman to bring him back to life.
While still searching for their missing sister, Levi runs into his biggest regret from the past. He loved her, but felt he needed to do the right thing when he found out someone else was having his baby. He felt obligated to try to make a family even though he had no feelings towards Charlotte. When his son dies at 6 months old, Levi will never be the same man again.
Harper is the one that got away. Even though he left her without an explanation, she still extended open arms to him while they still try to find Claire. She eventually finds herself in so deep and wonders if its all real.
This story was absolutely incredible. I will be on the edge of my seat waiting for The Gunman to be released. This story just draws you in and you can't get enough. I need more pronto. Shauna has truly created a world that immerses you into the story and you feel their joy and sorrow. Absolutely phenomenal job Shauna!!
The Rainmaker is the second book in the Creed Family series. This book should be read after the first book as they build on each other and enhance each other.
Back in school, Levi had found the girl he wanted to marry, but as life sometimes does, things changed and he thought he lost her forever. He married someone else and had a son, then he lost his son too early in life. After all the loss he has gone through, Levi was sure that it meant he was not meant to love or be loved.
When Levi goes with his brother to run to the store to get his protein shakes, he is surprised when he see the owner is Harper, the one that got away. Doing what he does best, he looked into her store and found several ways to improve things. Things seem to be fine until he is rattled. Will this cause him to run from the one person that could give him the happiness he thought he lost? Or will he learn from his past and get all he ever wanted?
This book sucks you in and you just cannot put it down. A definite must-read!
Phenomenal. The Creed family is an amazing saga crafted by Shauna Allen. Truly something that has pulled me in so that I want to be part of their world. At the same time, I am experiencing their lives as if I could be right there with them, feeling every high and low. Levi, he has worked very hard to be the Rainmaker, priding himself on his business acumen and ability to close the deal. As with all the family members, losing Claire shook his foundation but it wasn’t until another tragedy hit that he erected impenetrable walls to protect his heart. When Harper, the girl that got away in college, reappears in his life, he finds some of those feelings trying to push through the walls. What a beautiful journey for a second chance romance that also delivers the struggles of overcoming tragedy and allowing yourself to be open to love and heartbreak again. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Another great read about the Creed family. Levi is a workaholic who has gone through a lifetime of pain. He has used work to escape his pain, but that stops the minute he sees his old girlfriend, Harper. She was introduced in The Executioner, when she came to help the family look for their missing sister, Claire. She is now back town, running her own health food store. Levi helps her with her store, and she helps Levi work through his pain. There were some emotional parts, like when Levi’s deceased son was mentioned or how he gave up love to take responsibility. This is a second chance romance, but it still had lots of suspense and intrigue. What happened to Claire? Is the family close to discovering what happened to her? The book is not a cliffhanger, but you definitely have to read all of the books to understand what is happening. Each book includes a little more detail about Claire’s disappearance. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
Addicting, heartbreaking, passion, intrigue this series has it all!
Book one, The Executioner blew me away, book two just made me fall more in love with the Creed Family. Felling the family's headache over Claire and what could have happened to her has me so anxious to find out the truth. What did happen to her, who could be involved. I just want her to find her way back home and to her caring family. On The Rainmaker we get Levi's story. Levi has had to deal with so much, the loss of a sister, having to leave the love of his life and then his son. All that changes when he sees Harper again, the love he had to give up, but how does he explain to her why he left. Could he have a second chance with her and at long last find peace? Once again Ms. Allen has done a fantastic job of creating a family, and their individual lives into great story telling that you don't want to miss.
Levi Creed has suffered a lot of loss in his life. His kid sister disappeared 10 years ago and his family still does not have answers as to what happened to her. While he was in college, he met the love of his life, Harper Devlin. The only problem was when he had to give her up when his ex called to say she was pregnant. He did the "right" thing and married her. Sadly, his young son died tragically and then his marriage fell apart shortly after that. Now Harper is back in his life and he needs to find a way to help her with getting her business plan in order while keeping his heart intact. I loved reading this book. This family just sucks you into their world. You can feel their pain and their hope. I cannot wait to read the rest of the books. I need to know how this story ends. I ended this book yelling NO!!!!!!! so I guess that shows how great this author is at cliffhangers!
The Rainmaker pulled me in from the first page, and kept me glued until the last. Levi and Harper have each faced heartache in their past, and are dealing with their lives in their own ways. Levi is very successful in his career, but keeps all his emotions bottled up inside. Levi and Harper were together years ago and have recently reconnected. The Creed Brothers series is riveting and emotional on a higher level, and just keeps getting better. I have to know what happens, and I can't wait for the next book. I highly recommend everyone reads this series by the incredibly talented author Shauna Allen!
This second chance romance hit all the feels. As Levi and Harper meet up again they both deal with heartache and life. The book hits deep and drags out the tears, the laughs and the happy clapping. Levi's past is a tough one to read and may be too much of a trigger for some. I cursed Shauna a bit for making me cry. The love between Harper and Levi is very evident to everyone but Levi Their journey back to each other is full of bumps in the road but it leaves you with a good feeling I didn't feel as much connection to Claire's disappearance mystery as I did in Executioner but I'm hooked to see what happened to their baby sister.
I love second chance love stories! Levi and Harper were in love, and circumstances made him walk away. Years later Harper comes back into Levi's life, and circumstances were still seeming to be in the way. They both had their doubts about whether they could make it work, but love prevails in the end. The book was so heart wrenching and real that it draws you in and doesn't let you go until the very last word. There is a hell of a cliff hanger, so I can't wait for book #3 in the series. The Creeds will make you love all of them and want to read every word all at once. If you haven't tried this series yet you should. It is awesome!!
I loved this book. So much tragedy has struck Levi "The Rainmaker" Creed, that he has given up on love and has drowned himself in his work. His world is rocked when, Harper, his college girlfriend, that his family didn't know about shows up with Eden to help look for evidence of the Creeds missing sister, Claire. Levi tries to avoid seeing Harper because of all the memories she brings back. But there is no escaping true love. This book has everything, action, romance, and a family that is learning that they are better off together than alone. I cannot wait to read what comes next
5 BEAUTIFUL RAINMAKER STARS!!! Another beautiful heartfelt story in The Family Creed series. This story hits all the emotion buttons, so have Kleenex ready. Levi and Harper dated in college and Levi broke it off and never told Harper why. I loved seeing their story play out and to get a second chance. As always Shauna Allen takes us on a beautiful journey and keeps the readers engaged and wanting more. I highly recommend this book book and series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This is the second in a 6 part series. The Creeds are back and this time Levi and Harper are highlighted. Their attraction is explosive, and has been since they met in college. Even though Levi took the cowards way out with Harper when he found out that his ex was pregnant, who he then married despite being in love with Harper, she is still willing to give him another chance. Levi is however still working out some of his own demons, his sisters disappearance, and the death of his infant son are at the top of the list. Great story and fantastic cliffhanger!
This is the second book in the series and it's a good one! It's a second chance for Levi and Harper. Levi has dealt with enough heartache to last a lifetime, but is he willing to risk the chance of more to have the future he's always wanted with Harper. I really liked Harper. I like the light she brings in Levi's life especially because sure does need it. This one pulls at the heart because we get a few more clues to the family tragedy. I feel like a part of the family and my hearts breaks right along with them. I can't wait for the next book!
What an intense ride! It didn't have quite the same depth as The Executioner but nevertheless, I was left emotionally wrecked.
This series is 100% male POV and honestly, I'm starting to feel the loss of the female side. I liked Harper well enough but I don't think her character (or Levi's for that matter) was as well developed as it could have been. On the positive side, Shauna did do a terrific job of continuing the mystery surrounding Claire's disappearance and it ends with one heck of a development in her case.
The Executioner, The Rainmaker when I saw this titles I thought this was a series of Alpha men with hundreds of women at their feet including the heroine. I was very wrong. The creed family lost their girl ten years ago, no clues nothing left behind. This is the second book and we see Levi find himself and rekindle with the one that got away. It was an emotional book with just enough mystery that it doesn't intervene with the love story. The mystery of Claire's disappearance continues and I can't wait for the third book.
This series!!!!!!!!!! Oh my! The feels & the struggles are amazing. I loved the second story in the Family Creed series. Harper is just the balm that Levi's tortured soul needs! The family drama that is intertwined throughout the series is so emotional. It makes your heart race & your heart break all at once. I am looking forward to the rest of the series......esp to know how the family drama concludes.
This is the second book in the Creed series. Levi's story His sister is still missing the family is still trying to pull together, however a family emergency will pull Levi back and lead him to the one that got away. These stories have o much detail to them and they leave you wanting more. I look forward to seeing where things go throughout the rest of the stories and hope for the best for this family.
** I received my copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**
Another amazing book. This is Levi and Harper's story. It's a heartbreaking and emotional ride. It will pull you in from the beginning. It's beautifully written story about second chances at love. It's a beautiful journey of healing and learning to love again. We get more of the sexy Creed brothers. I highly recommend this book and series. Looking forward to reading more. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
WOW!! WARNING: Have a box of tissues by your side while reading! This story is heartbreaking while also being a beautiful romance. Levi is a tortured soul needing to let go and live life again and Harper is the woman that never gave up on him. My feelings were all over the place with this story, I laugh, I sighed and I cried!! I crawled nto this story and didn't want to leave.
