It was really good being back into Declan’s head. I kinda missed him. Even if the reason for it was that heartbreaking situation.
Seeing everything through Declan’s eyes again set my perspective differently than with Beau’s pov. I was glad to see how Declan was able to see Beau’s feelings. How he understood what he was going through.
Declan was always protective of his family and when a past enemy hurts his baby girl, he gives everything he is to find her. The whole path makes his knees weak often, but with the help of Beau, he is ready to fight for his little girl.

This other version of the situation gave a lot of clarity to how the Reede’s are right now. I missed them.
Also, I’m glad Beau is not one to give up so easily.
Can’t wait to continue. Michelle, I love you! 😘

A Daddy looking for his Baby

Another example of the magical writing by Michelle Irwin, told from a Daddy's pov. His little baby turned 18 and living in another country goes missing. His only focus is finding her & bring her home. If you are reading The Pheobe Reede series this is a must have.

A father will go to any lengths to rescue his princess.

*** I voluntarily reviewed this book, I gained no monetary incentives nor was I specifically requested to review the book, these are my honest ramblings and I hope you enjoy reading them - kat***

I didn't think that Ms. Irwin could add more to this story, I guess I should have known that she could and do it well due to her expertise with her companion stories Daughter of Fire and Son of Rain series, which are 2 of my favourite Paranormal series.

Ms. Irwin has done just as good in the Contemporary Romance Genre as she has in the Paranormal world and its high-octane stuff, since it revolves around fast cars and men who drive fast, love hard and don't give up. Its addictive and consumes you.

I am not going to say much about this story, other than its gripping, I read it in one sitting, it broke me... I am a mum, I felt Declan and Alyssa's pain, this story is full of the angst, worry, the feeling of inadequacy that a parent feels when their child is missing... and my kid was missing 15 minutes in a shop, it never left me - ever!

Be prepared to have tissues at hand as you will need them.

I can't wait to read the last installment, Physis, and Phoebe gets a happy ending... she has been through the worst a character could go through. So I live in hope that we do have sunshine and rainbows and not a storm cloud and monsoon of tears!

REVIEW

This is a very short but powerful read. It gives us Declan' point of view for the most part and oh how I have come to love Declan and this book explains exactly how much this man has grown up.

All I can say is grab the first book in this series and enjoy as this author gives you a fantastic story and Declan well he isn't a character easy to explain you have to read him.

“I was gifted this book for my reading pleasure and I am choosing to write a review for it.”

I’m going to keep this review short and sweet as you just have to read it!!

Decay is Declan’s POV of what happen throughout Beastly.

"Every piece of information only led to more questions".

There are parts in Decay that you don’t read in Beastly as it’s what Dec does when he is by himself his calls with Alyssa, his police visits, what happens when his home how the family function.

“My daughter is missing and I’m placing the blame for anything and everything that has happened to her squarely where it belongs.

Throughout Decay as we know in Beastly Dec and Beau aren’t the best of friends and Dec doesn’t like Beau as he thinks he has something to do with Phoebe's disappearance, but we see their relationship evolve and Dec start to realise how much Beau actually does love Phoebe and that sometimes in parts he fells Beau's pain as it was similar to when he was without Alyssa and Phoebe back in the day.

“Not that I can ride it at the moment. I’ve been banned until the ice clears from the roads. It’s here actually. Do you want to see it?”

As always, another 5-star read by this amazing author she always seems to take us with her on the journey with the character’s I feel a part of their world and I sometimes sit here while reading the book talking to them even sometimes screaming at them as well as laughing and crying.

Michelle’s writing grips you from the very 1st book that makes you continue reading her series and keeps you wanting more and never wanting the series to end!

Thank you for another amazing read!!

This book runs parallel to Michelle Irwin's Beastly, but I would recommend reading Beastly before Decay so your spoilers will be marginalized. In Decay, Declan Reede is back. Unfortunately, it is not a great uplifting reason, it is about him having to go to the United States to find his missing daughter. Decay is told completely in Declan's point of view and while it was great to be back in his head again, it was not under the best of circumstances, which made me really relate to him, as a parent whose child is in trouble. I was pulled in as the emotions were talented revealed. With Phoebe lost and all clues are pointing to Beau, her boyfriend, will Declan be able to figure out the puzzle to save Phoebe? Will Declan's own demons resurface that could destroy everything? Will his strained relationship with Beau hinder the progress to finding Phoebe?
Even after reading Beastly and knowing the chain of events that took place, experiencing them from Declan's point of view takes on an entire new reading experience. There is so much more that I discovered seeing how Declan was dealing with it all. So even though the two books are during the same time, they are two different stories and both are must reads. Decay is an emotional roller coaster ride that will leave you with a book hangover. Can’t wait until the next book in this action packed, suspenseful series.

Having read Beastly and the previous books in this series the events that lead up to what happened to Phoebe Reede were horrendous enough but having read this version of the story in Decay which is a first hand account from Declan Reede her father, I found that this book was so much more intense and threw up so many more questions truths and reasons as well as answers that were missing from Beastly that helped fill in the gaps of why she was targeted.
As a parent myself I could understand Dec's mistrust of everyone around him and the anger, self blame and guilt he feels is because his wild past comes back to haunt him, it plays a big part in the story and he doesn't deal well with what has happened to his child even if it was out of his control to stop it.
As protective and strong Dec is of his family he finds it hard to let Beau and Angel help get involved in finding Pheobe and pushes them both away and apart as lies are spread by the media until it all becomes clear that he needs their help as new clues and revelations make things point where the answer was all along.
If you think at all that you would be bored reading this part of the story for a second time think again you will honestly be just as shocked and entranced by this account if not you should be! Michelle has done a brilliant job of keeping the mystery and thrills of Beastly and I couldn't fault it, it's good quality reading not to be missed.

I was given this book in turn for an honest review.

Decay is written from Declan Reede's POV and runs alongside Beastly. Although some parts cross over with Beastly told from Beau's POV it gives us the reader a better and more in depth look into why Declan felt the way he did towards Beau and made some of the decisions he did; it also gives us a different angle to the story.

Michelle Irwin has written an excellent and much needed addition to the Phoebe Reede series. She hasn't written a story with pointless information, she has given us insight and understanding for why things developed the way they did and a closer look into how Phoebe truly felt after her horrendous and scary ordeal.

Although given the heart-breaking circumstances in which we are meeting Declan Reede again, it's a beautiful delight to see how much Declan has grown since his younger racing days. Fatherhood and marriage have shaped him into an amazing, wonderful, strong and inspiring man.

Decay tore at my heart as much as Beastly did. My heart was aching as much if not a little more seeing through Declan's eyes the pain and heartache he and Alyssa were going through with no clue to where their daughter was and it ripped me part seeing the glimpse of pain, terror and fear that Phoebe had experienced and was still dealing with.

This series is shaping up to be a very powerful story, one that holds so many messages and a lot of hope. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

To get the full enjoyment from this series, I recommend reading the books in order.

Wow! I have to be honest at first I thought oh no it's going to be a rehash of the previous book but from another POV! While that's true in a way, it is so much more. Many, many things are explained and more pieces of the puzzle slotted into place.

Declan, Phoebe's father, is in America trying to find his daughter. He finds it very difficult to know who to believe, who to trust and just what he should do! Angel arrives to try to help along with Beau.

The anguish Declan and Alyssa suffer really makes your heart ache for them. The hate and disgust for the perpetrator is so real too. Strong emotions aroused by the wonderful story written by this author.

I am so looking forward to reading Physis but have to admit I am concerned to hear about what really happened.

Decay pheobe Reede The Untold Story #3.5

Oh where do I begin, Decay is from Declan's Pov of Beastly. Warning it will totally break your heart, the pain and suffering Declan goes through is just every parents worst nightmare.

I absolutely loved this book the way the author tells the story is extraordinary. It is like reading a new story even though you have already read it from Beau's POV, reading it from Declan's is just amazing. There are parts which wasn't in Beastly, but that's because it's how Declan sees or says it.

I cried my heart broke not only for pheobe Reede but for Declan and Alyssa as well. Declan is so strong and he was so considerate towards Beau. Just amazing. I really cannot wait for Physis.
Michelle has a way of writing and I just love it, she knows how to grip her audience and keep them intrigued in the story.

It was great to hear from Declan again I do miss him

Well done Michelle Irwin, and thank you for surprising me with Decay.

This read is a bit different from the rest of the Phoebe Reede series but is equally addicting. In fact, after reading this companion novella, I am compelled to go back to Declan's series and read it. Decay is essentially Phoebe's father's story of the search for his missing daughter in the US. It paints a picture of the devotion and deep connection between Declan and Phoebe. Ms. Irwin does an exceptional job of sharing Declan's backstory and how it impacts the present. She also gives insight into other members of the family and how Declan resolves his issues with Beau.
Declan is a true alpha, demanding to take charge in any situation. When he finds his hands tied looking for Phoebe, it is not something he handles well. Ms. Irwin's writing is full of great analogies and metaphors, she weaves a wonderfully rich story of a father's angst and love in this novella. I truly adore this series and am anxious to see where the next books takes the reader.
