Like any girl, I just wanna have some fun.
I might be blonde, but I’m far from dumb.
But Hell, men like 'em dumber than a box of rocks,
So that's the game I play--
Just to get 'em wrapped around my finger,
And in my bed.

Let's face it, sex is fun,
And I’m all about having a good time…
I've had my share of man-whores and douchebags,
I'm not looking for anything more.

And nobody can change my mind,
Not even Dan Westbrook.
With his sexy smile and irresistible body.
I'm a man-eater,
And right now, he's the only man I want a bite of.

5 “Treat ’em mean, keep ’em keen” stars

This book is my personal sweet revenge on all cliché and double standards driven books!

First I want to thank my dear friend Leonor for recommending this book to me! Girl, I owe you! Big time! *lol*

You know me, ladies, I love strong, fierce and different heroines.
I have "F*CK DOUBLE STANDARDS" tattooed on my ass, and I’m sick of the romances idolizing of "experienced" males and "innocent" females.

This book breaks almost all romance clichés.
It has unique female character who has 99% of "usual" male moves: anti-commitment, enjoys casual sex, has steel balls, dirty mouth and above all she doesn’t give a f*ck.

You could reduce this heroine to a sl*t, but you could also enjoy her as a strong woman who just knows what she wants and catch-a-man is not her life goal.

I floved this girl. Freaking amazing woman.
She was a very good person despite her “free spirit” attitude. She worked as veterinary nurse and loved animals – it’s always a huge plus for me. She cared for people (scene when she paid for old man’s groceries), she also volunteered at children hospital.
But her character was also a bit extravagated. There were things I didn’t like much, it may be a trigger for some readers: she lost her virginity at 14/15; the drama which caused her no-strings-behavior happened when she was 15 – her bf cheated on her. Hmm, a bit too young to get burned, IMO. She took party drugs *argh*. She also called some other girls sl*ts, well, it was kinda strange, she wasn’t a nun herself…

But I had no problems with her ONS rules.
They call her shallow, I call her honest.
Yes, she admitted she liked good-looking men. Shallow? Maybe. But 99% of all romance heroines tell me the opposite (looks are not important blah blah blah – but they fall for a Greek God looking guy and let him treat them bad).
So, you see, even if this girl seemed to be shallow, she was raw honest with her intensions. So why should I judge her?

I loved this book, but I loved it in pieces. Doesn’t make any sense to you? *lol* I would cut this books in hundreds lines/acts/reactions and add these to 1001 books lacking strong women, self-respect, self-esteem; full of double standards, HEA-at-any-price, female celibacy to male whorishness, immediate forgiveness and acceptance etc.

I could quote this girls for hours! Brilliant!

100 extra stars for her honest opinion about “experienced” men
(My personal F*CK to romantic idolization of manwhores!)
"I do not want to settle down with a sex god who has literally had more than two hundred partners."

100 extra stars personally from me for this line:
"Telling a girl to yell obscenities at you during sex is not hot and dirty. It's creepy and confronting. Calling you daddy is not ever acceptable."

1000 evil-Alex stars go to:
"Don’t ever let a guy make you uncomfortable, my beautiful friend. You kick his arse to the kerb if he is not making you happy."

"Fuck that, no one can control even one part of my life. I am me, and my life is my own."

"Attempting to change someone is not the best move. They end up resenting you."

Floved this girl! *fangirling alarm*

The hero was a very sweet guy. He was more like side character for me. I didn’t connect to him, but I liked him. He chased her, he wooed her, he showed her that she deserved to be treated right. *swoon*

They had ONS and he was hooked. The best part – she wasn’t *lol* Finally we have a girl who didn’t fall to her knees to worship the ground he walked on. The very best part – he was celibate after their ONS and she wasn’t. YEAH! I prefer my MCs not to be with others, but since I don’t write books I read about many male characters who sample many OWs after they were with the h.
So why not to turn the tables? Yes!!!

Women like sex! Women have sex! Women rock! *lol*

As I said, the book wasn’t perfect. It was a bit rushed, I would gladly have 100 pages more to read about their feelings/connection. Drama toward the end was unexpected and not very well played.
But we can’t have it all…

I would highly recommend this book to…. ME! *LMAO*

I will definitely reread it many times, especially after another female-sacrifices-her-dignity-for-a$$hole book.

Personal thanks to the author!
THANK YOU!!!
Please don’t give up on strong heroines in your books!

Safety:

Quote for readers 18+ :-)

I can't do it. DNF@page 74

I tried, I really tried. I was ready to read about a book where the woman was the "love em, leave them" type like the millions of books out there with men doing that, I figured flipping the coin would be interesting to read. The idea itself is a terrific one the book, not so much. I have never read a book so ridiculous with nothing happening. It is the most inane book.

Jemma was exhausting, her friends were exhausting, everything was. She was this veterinarian who liked to party and f*ck her way because she's afraid of commitment because of something that happened when she was 15 years old. First off, if your reason of being a commitment-phobe is because your 15 year old horny boyfriend cheated on you that shows you haven't done much growing up since then. I understand it would have been painful to deal but at 25 you should know that some people are full of shit and it has no bearing on you as a person for the way they behave.

I would have been able to endure her commitment issue if not for the mundane things thrown in to fill the book. Her every movement was described in such details that were unnecessary. Things like the colour of lipstick she wore, the colour she purchased, the colour of nail polishher and Foxy had done on their nails, the dress she was wearing, the dress he was wearing, the food order being repeated like twenty times( okay, I exaggerate with twenty) it just seemed on and on. If I was reading a book where the guy went on and on , well I would do the same thing, DNF.

Jemma was this person that had one night stands and did not care what people thought of her but she still had the gall to slut shame Ryan's girlfriend or whoever that was. That pretty much sealed the deal for me. Maybe she is a nice person , even though I found her random act of kindness pretentious, maybe she really is. Maybe something happened to her , something more serious than her high school boyfriend cheating on her , something I can't read about because I'm stopping halfway, whatever it is the little glimpse I've had of her character is not that of someone I would connect with.

Maybe it's me, because I read this book after a GR friend praised it for changing the narrative about manwhore heroes and virgin/innocent heroines so it might appeal to you.

I think reversing the role is a nice concept in a world where “experienced “ men rule and virginal door mats obey. But I’ll pass this one because imo, there’s a thin line between sexual liberation and sex/ons “just because”.
And I like my mcs with only with each other after they meet. This didn’t happen here.
What I don’t like the men doing, I also don’t like female mc doing.

Title: ManEater
Author: Aleya Michelle
Genre: Contemporary
Romance
Rating: 4/5

This was my first read by this particular author and I loved it, it was a flirty fun romance in which the heroine Jemma is a strong minded woman with plenty of sass on her side she's all about "no strings attached" sex until a certain hottie named Dan enters her life determined to prove to her that things can be better when there's strings attached.

I honestly don't have a bad thing to say with regards to this book it was a fun filled feel good romance that had me laughing one minute then swooning the next told from a dual point of view.

Aleya's flawless writing skills made this a thoroughly enjoyable read and I look forward to checking out her other books.

Jemma's heart was broken years ago, so she made a vow to herself to never fall in love. No strings, no feelings and no relationships. Until she meets Dan. He makes Jemma feel different and Dan makes it clear he wants more than no strings.

This was a fast romance about realizing that taking a chance can be worth it after all.

Holy Hell, Jemma is my newest girl crush! That being said, she's a girl who likes to have fun, and although she's blonde, not one part of her is dumb, but she does like to give that impression. She loves her career, lives with her bestie, and enjoys a hit and quit it sex life, and makes no bones about it. Jemma believes she's living the perfect life, until she meets Dan Westbrook, and he turns her world upside down. I've been a fan of the talented Aleya Michelle since her first book, and with every new book, I truly believe she's evolved into a brilliant author. Jemma is a work of art when it comes to feisty females that I respect like mad. Now that doesn't mean that I didn't love Dan, because he was drool worthy, and he definitely made the story more fun with Jemma. Together, well sexy time was SCORCHIN HOT, and I couldn't get enough. And I don't want to forget to mention the witty banter, as it kept me laughing so much! I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED this super fun read, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND that everyone to read it and love it as well!

I'm sorry guys but I just can't get on board with this. It was just rubbish for me.

There were a few things that I liked i.e. Her ons rules, her admission of being shallow and wanting a man to be good looking as well as not looking to settle down with a guy who has had a lot of sexual partners which i liked. The rest overshadowed it by miles though.

“Sounds good. Just remember, all men want in your pants. If they don’t, they are gay or might have an STD.” I joke with Roxy. She is pretty much on the same wavelength as I am with men. They use and abuse and are all good for one thing.”

*Cue eye roll* Not man eater, but man hater. All because at 15 her boyfriend cheated on her? A tween. Are you serious girl? You have dictated your life because of a fifteen year old BOYs horniness. Obviously still have the maturity of a teenager. Move on. I have no respect for that.

"My job is similar to being a doctor or a nurse. I have animals to look after”

Puh-lease. I respect vets but let's not.
"Party drugs on weekends only, only one night. Unlimited drinks, but I like to think I’m no longer that messy chick I was in my early twenties. I have more decency. Most nights.”

This girl is trash. Just lame and stupid . I can't.

The last I saw, Desta was dating a woman named Paloma. I stalked her pics, and I can't help but wonder if that petite abdomen of hers can handle Desta's package. Well, sure, lube it up ...
She might be looser than she looks.

First she objectified the one black man she was with. It was fucking disgusting reading that paragraph. Then she immediately trash talks a woman she has no idea about. Literally talking about another woman's pussy and how "loose" it might be. You fucking idiot. All women expand when wet and contract. Don't embarrass us.

Author is clearly a young, inexperienced writer. I thought I would enjoy role reversal of the typical "man whore" but the heroine was so fucking stupid - it was unreal and aggravating. It flopped. Writing quality was very shabby and the story was short (Wattpad style).

In the hero's POV - he is texting and instead the texts are coming out like this:

“Dan:
I have a proposition for you, Miss Donovan. Can I come over?
Me:
I like the sound of that.
Dan:
Don’t get too excited …”

Um, we are in Dan's POV. So he should be the "me" in these texts as it's looking at it from HIS PHONE.

Jesus.

ManEater by Aleya Michelle can be read as a standalone. It follows the story of Jemma, who is the best friend of Roxy from My Heart Series. Jemma is your stereotypical Aussie Girl, she’s blonde, she just want to have a bit of fun, but she isn’t dumb although she appears to act that way. She’s a love ‘em and leave ‘em type of girl. She’s a more one night stand type of girl than a relationship type of girl. She’s all about having fun and making the most of life. She’s pretty stubbon in her ways and no man can make her change her mind about having a relationship that is until she meets Dan Westbrook. Dan is an amazing guy, he’s hot and sexy and has the most amazing body. Jemma is totally into him, but only wants fun, nothing more as per her rules. Will Dan be able to change her mind? Will love win out? Or will Jemma keep going from one man to another???? After all she is a ManEater.

Jemma is a sassy, independent woman that loves her single life, no strings, no emotions, just fun. She has already done the whole in love thing and it didn't end so well. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.!!!! But with a chance encounter with the gorgeous Dan, lines start to get blurred and rules start to get broken. Jemma has to decide whether loving again is worth taking the risk before it is too late.

Maneater was a fun, sassy, definitely sexy, hot and so enjoyable to read. It has believable and relatable storyline, characters that have backbone, charming, funny, vulnerable and strong. It was a fun, short read that make the soul feel good.

With this being New Adult, there was not enough adult in it for me. It just felt immature, and as if there were way too much focus on the sexy time, and too little on the actual story.

It was not something for me.

What a great romance!

Aleya Michelle has once again written a thoroughly entertaining love story!

Jemma Donovan is a sassy, strong minded, rule setting girl who isn't in the market for any type of permanent relationship, she is all about no strings, knock them down, fast, hard, physical fun! Daniel Westbrook is a professional man who knows his own mind, once he sees what he wants he sets out to get it!

The characters in this story are all interesting and so real, I can imagine the chatter about 'size does matter' or any of the girl talk, so easily. Jemma is an honest, up front no nonsense type of woman and that is refreshing to find in a story. I enjoy how she can be totally honest with herself too!

This light romance is easy to read and is written from both lead character's points of view.

This story leaves you feeling positive and smiling!

ManEater by Aleya Michelle a fab four star read. This was the first book by this author, it was funny, witty and hot in all the right ways. This story is told from mainly Jemma Donavon’s point of view but we also get to hear a little from Daniel Westbrook, we see Jemma live the thought ‘Why should guys have all the fun?’ because she’s a hot aussie blonde, who just because she looks and sometimes dumb doesn’t mean she really is. It also shows us that just because you act heartless, doesn’t mean you are, maybe it means that you once had it broken.
Jemma Kate Donovan has an insatiable need for man meat, she has rules she follows and a man must fit into her list of requirements after all she has had her share of losers, now she only wants the cream of the crop for a one night dalliance and only those top cream ever make it to a repeat performance. Jemma isn’t looking for anything serious, she had that once upon a time and swore never to do it again, no man can ever get that close, she won’t allow it.
Daniel James Westbrook could be that man for Jemma, he wants to be with everything in his life he wants to be that man, if only he can persuade her of that. Dan ticks all the boxes for her, he’s fit, he’s good looking, he can kiss like dream, he’s employed so he can buy her a drink or dinner and he isn’t afraid of her. Can he convince Jemma that she doesn’t have to be afraid of him? Can he show her she is worthy of the love he wants to give her?
Jemma is a feisty lady, but could she really be scared of what Dan could be to her? will she be able to realise what she needs and wants before it’s too late?

I gave this book 4 stars!!!

This book was just what I expected and I devoured it in a few short hours. This is the first book I have read from this author but defiantly will not be my last. Love how she would have me laughing out loud and then feel all the feelings that Jemma had. I hoping we will get a book for Roxy, she seems like she parties it up more than Jemma.

Jemma is a woman who knows what she wants and go after it. She has a job she loves and lives with her best friend Roxy who both have a "NO STRINGS ATTACH" Sex life. That is until she meets Dan. Dan is smart, funny, and sexy as sin. He wants to show Jemma that there can be more with strings attached, but can Jemma break her one rule for a guy like Dan?

So if you looking for a fun filled and just a good love story, then pick this book up and read!!

I devoured this book in one night it was just that good. Jemma was a kick arse take no prisoners kind of girl... she knows what she wants and doesn't make excuses for it! She has a career she loves a house she shares with her best friend Roxy and a no strings attached sex life. Her life to her is perfect just the way she likes it until a smoking hot Dan Westbrook saunters in and tries to turn her world upside down by adding strings... All he wants to do is show her what it's like to be treated like the princess she is. Will it be too much can Jemma deal with strings or will Dan push her away. A fun, flirty sexy as read that will have your panties melting. Make sure you go out and get your copy!

Not my normal read.....I don't normally read romance of any sort.....but this one, caught me hook, line and sinker within the first chapter.
Jemma is a 'I don't need a steady boyfriend to be happy. No strings attatched' kind of girl....until someone catches her eye and sets out to catch her.
This book has some awesome feel good moments. Very well written with great characters

The way that Aleya Michelle writes is absolutely freaking amazing! She is fast becoming one of my favorite authors! She writes using real emotions, struggles and concerns. There is a real story in this book, not just hot scenes. Although, those were hot with a capital H! Some of the thoughts that go through Jemma's mind have been through a lot of women's minds I'm sure ... they just probably won't admit it! I love Jemma's feistiness and attitude. I like Dan's persistence in showing Jemma that "having strings" is worth it. I would have liked a better look into Dan's past, but I don't think that took away from the story.

I was gifted a ARC copy for an honest review.

Oh oh here's she comes! Jemma is a maneater. Ok now that that's out the way let's get to the rest of this review.

Jemma is a party girl a girl who had her heart shattered. She lives life with the motto of a man can do it why can't I? She enjoys her no strings lifestyle. On one of her nights out she meets Dan. She just wants a romp in the sack while he wants so much more.

Dan is a guy who knows what he wants. He has the perfect established life but he wants more. He meets Jemma and has to have her. He sets out to win her heart and won't take no for an answer.

I wish I could say I loved this book or even liked it a lot. It was just ok for me. It didn't have a lot of depth and maybe that's the point. It's a fun fluffy read with steamy sex scenes, witty banter and some drama tossed in for the sake of drama. Jemma at times was really annoying and needed a reality check. It seemed like a quick read and would be good for someone who wants a fluffy story.

I recieved a free copy for an honest review. Aleya Michelle has a way with her writing that is just spot on for me. I have read a lot of her books, and this one is one off my favorites so far.

Once hurt in a relationship, now Jemma had her own rules she plays by. never again will she feel that pain. Love them and leave them, isn't that what lots of guys do? Why can't she?

Until she meets a new guy in the bar. He's different. He won't give up, or will he? When you're waiting and he doesn't show, what does that mean?? Has he finally threw in the towel?

Great read!! I had to put it down it was reading it so fast!! I didn't want it to be over.

Ok, this was a very fast, beach friendly read. My first by this author. It's definitely geared toward the younger crowd who believe sex in the early teen years is ok, along with intense relationships. I found the main character, Jemma, to be crass and off-putting. I get the whole sex without strings, but I found it unrealistic to believe that a modern, healthy, independent woman today would base her entire attitude towards sex on one failed sexual relationship when she was 15 years old! I loved the guy, Dan, and how hard he fought to make Jemma see that he was true, good, and the right man for her. Ms. Michelle did a great job with the growth and emotional reach of these characters.

A little preachy, but it was refreshing to read about a woman who cycles through guys and isn't ashamed of it. It ends with but the overall feel for the book wasn't romantic so I was confused and dissatisfied by the ending.

Maneater is a standalone, very sexy, romance novel by Aleya Michelle, that I really enjoyed. It is about a girl named Jemma, who brags to all the girls that she knows that she doesn't need a man because she can take care of herself. When she hooks up with a guy, she has sex with him, and then she gets out of his place as quickly as possible. She never brings a guy to her home. Jemma's best friend and roommate is named, Roxy, and they've been friends since high school. They can practically read each others minds and do almost everything together. Jemma works in a Veterinary Hospital as a nurse to the best veterinarian around whose name is Tony. Jemma loves animals and her job!

Jemma won't date or even think about having a relationship with a guy because she was really hurt by her first love, Josh, when she was a young girl in high school. She caught him having sex with another girl at a party that they had attended together and shortly after they had an argument. Jemma had come back to the party to apologize to Josh when she found them. She had never felt so betrayed and wounded in her entire life after that incident, and even though it has been 10 years since it happened, Jemma still cannot bring herself to trust a man because she's afraid of getting hurt like that again.

One Thursday night Jemma, Roxy, and some other girl friends went to a pub to have a couple of drinks and have some fun. Jemma noticed a handsome young man at the bar, and she noticed that he was staring at her, too. Jemma decided to go to the bar to order some drinks, and when the tray for the drinks was ready, the handsome guy from across the bar was right next to her insisting on paying for the tray of drinks. The young man introduced himself as Dan, and he and Jemma ended up going back to his apartment that night.

Jemma was at work thinking about how hot and handsome Dan was, and how much he reminded her of Justine Timberlake. She was also thinking about how much she liked his personality because he has such a great sense of humor. The next thing that she knows she has a text from Dan. She didn't usually give out her number on a one-night-stand, and she's still not sure why she did it. Must have been a feeling. Kind of ironic as just seeing his name makes her smile.

Dan: Hey, Jemma. I'll be away this week for work but would love to meet up when I get back.

She's the queen of no commitment, but she can't help but feel a little rejected. Is he really going away for work? She must admit that she's used that line before when she wasn't interested in a guy. She doesn't really know him; maybe he has a girlfriend.

Dan works for his family's business, Westbrook Software Developers, and he is the executive in charge of the development, maintenance, and testing of computer software programs. He really likes Jemma not only because she is very sexy, but because she has a great sense of humor and he would really like to date her. He is determined to convince her to go out with him, but is worried because she never texted him back. As soon as he gets back from his trip, he texts her again.

I enjoyed this book about Jemma and her inability to trust any man based on her experience with a high school boy 10 years earlier. The story is a lesson about missing out on happiness and love specifically, because of being afraid to take a chance because of fear. We all go through it at least once in our lives, and hopefully we learn from our mistakes and move on.

I really enjoyed Aleya Michelle's writing style of putting the chapters in first person according to which character we were hearing from: Jemma or Dan. I also enjoyed her sexy writing style, which is definitely for 18+ year olds, and the way that she lets us know that yes, a woman can live on her own without a man and be just fine, unless she's doing it for the wrong reason.

I definitely would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading a sexy romance.

ManEater by Aleya Michelle is a contemporary romance story that is a standalone. This story is about a woman who lived by the love them and leave them until she meets one man who could change her forever. This is my first story by this author and I enjoyed her creativity for her characters and also for her story plot. I enjoyed her attention to detail and her ability to bring her characters to life. These characters will take you on an emotional journey that will leave you wanting more. Find out what happens to these characters as they make you laugh, feel compassion and maybe even make you angry in parts.

Jenna Donovan is a woman who has been hurt in the past and now has no desire to have a relationship. She would rather just pick her flavor of the day and have some fun. She is blonde and not dumb but she does prefer her men dumb. She isn't looking for anything more and relationships are definitely out. Then she meets him. Will he change her mind? Will it matter that he has an irresistible body and a sexy smile? She is a maneater, it is what she does but right now she wants a bite of him.

Dan Westbrook is a professional that knows what he wants and how to get it. Right now, he wants her. One look from her and he was completely gone for her. The problem is that she has built up some walls that he needs to break down. Will he be able to get through to her and break down her walls?

Jenna and Dan's relationship is attraction from the beginning. One look at each other and that was it. He just wants to show her she deserves to be treated good and she just don't want any strings attached. He is kind and sweet and she is sassy with an attitude. Will she run when he starts pushing strings attached or will she take what he is offering her? They are great together and you will fall in love with them. There are some great characters in this book especially, Jenna, smart but yet sassy and knows what she wants and how she is going to get it. These characters will make you laugh and there are some you will not like as much as others. Some will leave you shaking your head at them. Find out if Dan can break down Jenna's walls and if they ever find their HEA.

This is my first story by Aleya Michelle and I know it won't be the last. I enjoyed her book as it kept me engaged until the end. I can't wait to see what book she has for us next. Aleya lives with her husband and three active boys in Sydney, Australia. She love to write and find solace through her characters. You will enjoy this fast paced story that you won't be able to put down. The characters keep you engaged and wanting more. I will lose track of time with this book and find yourself turning pages faster then you realize. I highly recommend this book as I know that you will want to see if they ever find their HEA.
