The Devil's Election
It's September 11, 2016, only 2 months away from the most controversial election in the history of the United States. Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton are both running for office, but they both could not be any more hated by the American public.
Meanwhile, an organization called the Terrorist Killers are investigating a substance known as the stem-cell substance. It supposedly extends the lifespan of a human being and be the next great breakthrough in genetic engineering. However, as with any high-profile drug, it's being distributed illegally. What starts off as an ordinary illegal drug bust escalates rather quickly into a conspiracy plot that will have serious implications on the general election of 2016.
As the story deepens it turns out that an arch-nemesis of the Terrorist Killers is behind all this, known as Janus. He's using the funding of Trump and Clinton to fund the drug's distribution and his criminal activities. In exchange, he promises to rig the election, by hacking into the voting machines and changing the votes to the president that pays him the most. What no one knows is who this Janus character really is, a two-faced conniving snake who's been wanted by the FBI for the longest. Does Janus intend to keep his promise or is he a traitor to the American people along with the stem-cell substance.
It will be up to Mariano Hernandez the star agent to find out the true identity of Janus, something no one knows not even the FBI. Do the stem-cell's really help extend the lifespan of a human or is it hiding a more sinister effect.
Who will win the election, the ultra-conservative Donald Trump, the ultra-liberal Hilary Clinton or will Janus plunge the United States into his own idea of socialism. What are the true intentions of Trump, Clinton, and Janus?

THE DEVIL’S ELECTION by Angel Ramon Medina is an edgy and dark look at a hotbed of misinformation, mistrust and the machinations and misuse of political and economic power.
Drawing on the 2016 Presidential elections where so often the phrases, “there are no choices,” or “I voted for the lesser of two evils,” were heard, Angel Ramon Medina adds another dimension with a touch of science fiction and some razor-sharp suspense.
One man will promise victory to both Trump and Clinton, for a price. What are Janus’s true intentions? Greed, the quest for power, deceit and overly inflated egos will fill Janus’s coffers, but one organization is coming for him and they will stop at nothing to end his game.
I was fascinated by the plot, intrigued by its scope, but for as much as I love some great dialogue, I was tempted to ask the characters for a lot less talk and a little more action. Certainly filled with twists, unexpected turns and a raw, unvarnished feel, I was mesmerized by how this seemed just as likely as not to actually happen, because power can corrupt and humanity is flawed.

I don't like politics and I don't trust politicians. When we look back at the centuries-and-centuries-long history of lies, deceptions and broken promises, this shouldn't be a surprise. Common good and national pride are the terms abused for personal gain by often incompetent individuals who should be anywhere else instead of leading countries or ruling our towns. History is their judge. The judge of their actions, turned coats, words spoken too easily behind the flimsy and fake smiles.
Human and animal rights, environmental issues, global warming, world hunger, wars, national, religious, racial and sexual hatred, poverty and health issues, unemployment, refugees, none of this is their concern as long as they can profit from the blind trust of their voters. History is their judge. Of everything they promised and didn't do. Of their lies.
Hard as it is to believe, there is one other group of individuals compared to whom our politicians look naïve and innocent like babies. They are the real puppeteers of our lives who rule from the shadow. To them, people like Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton are just puppets on the strings, the ways and disposable means of achieving their goals. Loaded with money and supercharged with power, they can have anyone at any cost. Price is not the issue for the invisible throne of the modern slavery reign.
That is what Janus wants when he decides to orchestrate the 2016 United States presidential elections. He uses funding of both Clinton's and Trump's running for the office campaigns for funding his stem-cell substance criminal activities. The FBI-wanted criminal uses both candidates to conquer the country with this genetically modified drug, bringing the national elections to the unexpected and culminating end.
In his fourth novel—and first in the series of political thrillers—Angel Ramon Medina gives us the vision of the world behind the curtain of dirty political games and sick ambition of a handful of individuals filled with hatred and determined to enslave and destroy mankind. In their world no one is too important or irreplaceable to be spared from being injected with the devilish substance, nothing is sacred or too menacing to deter them from their mission. Janus and his compatriots are the reincarnation of pure evil and they turned the US presidential elections into their playground.
One thing that is more frightening than the dead bodies paving the way to the new American presidency is the belief that such evil as Janus exists only in Ramon's head and his novel. To accept such idea as pure fiction is as dangerous as signing a personal death warrant, for the mark of the beast may be stamped on our skin or running through our bloodstream even before we get to realize what is happening.

A fascinating and very entertaining read
I'm a fan of a good political conspiracy thriller and this didn't disappoint. It has a SciFi overlay, and it draws from the 2016 US presidential election but in an alternative universe, and weaves in a range of a wide range of current world issues that politicians cannot or will not address. Add to this mystery, suspense and action, and you have a very readable package that kept me turning the pages. There are a range interesting characters and I didn't find it too daunting to keep track of them. A fascinating and very entertaining read.

Readers remember the American presidential election of 2016 and have likely listened to the news in these two years that have followed enough to think this "Alternate Universe" United states might not be far off.
The story is action packed and fast paced. It relates a story that reads like a conspiracy theory and political thriller with a "what-if" twist. There are Terrorist killers seeking the identity of an evil overlord named for the two-faced god Janus who is bent on controlling the world by rigging the election. Tip the hat to the Russians and then tip it again to Big Pharma and a shadowy deep state with stem cell drugs that genetically engineer super-humans.
It's written in first-person narrative which is a struggle for me, but it's well written and I won't ding an author who chooses to write it. Once I was able to get the swing of the writing style I found the story kept picking up speed and didn't let go. It's a complex story that's real enough to be "fake news."I'll certain be interested in the next installment.

A thriller that is still campy and fun!
If you like Angel's writing style but want to try a book of his that is a slight departure from the game lit genre he writes in the majority of the time, then this book is for you! Unless, that is, you are easily offended by today's political climate. In that case, you may not want to read this, lol. But, if you can put aside your personal political feelings and just enjoy a fun thrill ride that uses the 2016 presidential election as the bones for a complicated and suspenseful conspiracy, then you should give this book a try! Janus is like the Wizard of Oz controlling both presidential candidates from behind the curtain in his quest to run the entire world. Will he succeed? Or will Mariano ruin his plans? Read the book to find out!

Author, Angel Ramon is a visionary, dedication without question to get a story that carried many characters. To place it plainly, I immensely enjoyed how the author included Trump and Clinton, the story reads like a 007 movie. An interesting book that ran well into historical events, a political thriller for sure, in fact, this author surprised me, what he had written within this script will keep an engaging read, thrilling events mixed with sci-fi elements. Highly Recommended Read.

A fun, thrill ride set amidst the American election of 2016. The Terrorist Killers are on a mission to apprehend and defeat Janus, who is using hate to his ends for power, money, and domination. Will this team led by the founder, Brandon, along with Mariano, Jelani, and Quentin, save the day? Only time will tell. I recommend this book to readers looking for action and intrigue. It was an unforgettable read.

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE READ!!
I just finished this book and all I can say is "BRILLIANT"! There are so many twists and turns, it was hard to put down! I love the characters, especially Mariano, Brandon and Jenny. Janus is absolutely EVIL! Angel has written a book that is thrilling, chilling and UNPUTDOWNABLE!

Politics gone wild
I won’t be a spoiler, but when a few certain politicians were knocked off, it made my day. Angel has created a thrill-ride of intrigue and suspense, moving through the political election behind the scenes with flair and fun. A quick paced read, I only felt sorry for the torching of the “grand manor of D.C”

This is my favourite of Medina's books that I have read to date. I'm not big on political books, but I enjoyed this one. All the world was watching the 2016 American election.

As if the election wasn't controversial enough!
Mix in drugs, even more corruption and voter rigging and you have a story that grips you and keeps you on the edge the whole read! This is the second book I've read by this author and I will be coming back for more.
