The first time I saw her, I stopped dead in my tracks. From her long blonde hair to her piercing gaze that can see straight through to my soul, she slayed me. My sweet, innocent Hannah. When I’m with her, I feel unstoppable. She’s my angel. I have to have her and I always get what I want. Even if it means putting my budding NHL career on the line. My addiction to her might ruin my chances to make the roster of the Rochester Riot.

I was passed over by an ignorant scout during my senior year of college but my skills are still inspiring. Almost as impressive as my chiseled body and ahem…other huge assets. I can stop any breakaway, keep the crease crystal clear and force the enemy’s attacking forwards to scream for their mama. I’ll master this open tryout to bring my pro hockey dream to fruition or die trying.

But my desire for Hannah puts my Cinderella second chance on the line. That and him. A criminal, raging alcoholic piece of sh*t. One I’m not proud of and never thought I’d see again once they locked him in the pen and threw away the key. I’m a front office executive and NHL wannabe – she’s the sister of my dreaded ex. On paper we don’t fit. But there’s one place where we fit. Like a glove.

Nothing is more important that my ultimate goal of becoming a professional athlete so I know I shouldn’t get involved with her. It’s too perilous. I can’t fall…risk losing my heart. But for the first time, I woman sees me. The real me. Not some high-class suit pumping and dumping women so fast they’re swirling around my body like a schizophrenic tornado. And I sure as hell want her. Her tempting curves beg me to take it all.

So I’ve been hiding something from her. The truth about my past. I have a secret that threatens to destroy our future. And so the confident executive turned rookie is actually afraid. Because if my family drama sees the light of day, it’s over.

Done.

After 26 years in Corporate leadership at a Fortune 500, I discovered people within the organization lacked integrity. I’d always known deep in my soul that I was trying to fit a square peg in to a round hole since I’m the typical creative type. I miss my staff but I don’t miss the corporate world. It’s been said that the Universe will let you know if something isn’t right for you. The first time, it will hit you with a pebble. Then a brick. Then a boulder. Let’s just say that I got flattened. When my fifteen pound toy dog, Nigel, was threatened, I knew it was time to say goodbye.
It’s true.
Here’s what I found within the first thirty days of being free. Writing stories from my heart that readers love means more to me than working myself in to an early grave for people who only care about their bottom line.
My heart has never been more full and my soul has never been more satisfied.
I’ve never worked so hard in my life but it doesn’t even feel like work. It’s worth it. All of it. Because it’s about the joy that’s found within the journey. The highs and the lows because I get to write stories for all of you.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, enjoying and recommending the stories that I write. When you share my work with others, nothing is more rewarding. Your word of mouth is my very best friend … that, and your reviews. There is nothing more important to me than all of you.

I liked this book. It offered a entertaining combination of emotion, turmoil, drama, tension and romance. I liked Hannah and Ryder grew on me. Sure he starts out as a jerk but he does some evolving and I did like his dogged persistence. The story was engaging and held my interest well. I am posting an unbiased, volitional review.

I tried so freakin hard to finish this book. It was almost torture and again, the only reason I even made the attempt was because I wanted to know all about what was going on with El and Cole from The Slot. I just couldn’t get behind this book, Ryder, who we were first introduced to in The Slot as the asshat who tried to date El before she met Cole, was constantly a huge jerkface and his continued negative commentary regarding El as the “one that got away” even though he really wasn’t that interested, was such a huge turn off. I mean, I get being a little bit cranky about the fact that you lost out on a girl you really liked but he was just over the top with the constant inner dialogue about what an “Ice Princess” El was and it just came off as major sour grapes from a jealous jerkface. And then we’re supposed to buy that he’s all of a sudden this really great guy who’s nice and sweet just because he falls for El’s youngest sister Hannah??? Ugh, no...and don’t get me started on Hannah...I get wanting to live your own life and make your own choices but discounting other people’s opinions because they don’t line up with you WANT to believe and then acting like a child instead of the adult you claim to be just made me want to scream...one thing I will say was that the ending to this book was at least a complete one unlike the other two books in the series...I just couldn’t get behind the HUGE change in Ryder and Hannah at the end though, that was a bit much for me to take.

The story was not another favorite. It was okay, the characters weren't people I really enjoyed reading about.

Ryder is finally getting his Hockey dream and going for The Riots. He has been a little bitter over the years which I can kind of understand but still wanted to slap some sense into him. I didn't like him in Eloise book the 1st Riot book. To be honest in this one I had moments that I wasn't impressed with him. Then he would turn it around and impress me again. Can't decide if I wanted Hannah to kiss or slap him hahahaha ok both. With his childhood and loosing his dream I do get it, but his whole attitude about women kind of angered me. But like I said before he would do something for Hannah then I like him again.

Hannah I loved her and felt for her.  Feeling like she did always a disappointment and how her parents talked to her sometimes when telling her what to do. She is a adult and she needs to make her own choices and find what she wants to do. I did feel her pain and anger alot but sometimes I felt like she needed to explode and just let everything out.  She did impress me with her kind heart and finally standing her ground and figuring out what she wants. Oh and finding a irritating but HOT guy.

I really enjoyed the story for these two and the feelings I experienced for them both. Ryder had great moments when he was so sweet and tender with Hannah and I felt jealous.  They both have family issues to deal with so they both enjoyed the time together. But i still can't decide if I want Hannah to slap Ryder or not hahaha.

After meeting Ryder in The Slot, I was really concerned I would've like this book too much. He was a complete misogynistic jerk. I figured Colleen Charles would have a lot of redeeming to do at the beginning of this book. I think she did okay with that. For part of this book, Ryder maintains some of those jerk tendencies, but he grows as the book progresses and becomes generally a better human being.

This book features Hannah, Eloise's (from The Slot) youngest sister. After being denied acceptance to grad school, Hannah is desperate to get out of Ohio and offers to go back to Rochester with El and Cole to help with the restaurant and the baby (when it comes).

Something that bothered me was when El finds out it's Ryder Hannah is interested in and warns her off him. I'm not entirely certain why El didn't just tell Hannah exactly what happened between her and Ryder on their one abysmal date. It seems that it would've been a much more effective way of getting the message across that Ryder was bad news.

After many bumps both personally and together, Hannah and Ryder find their HEA with no cliffhanger. This book can be read as a stand-alone if so desired.

This was my first book that I read written by Colleen Charles. I was so not disappointed and I am looking forward to more of her books to come. I thought this was a great sports romance. When it comes to Hannah she has always been in the shadow of her sisters and not liking it. It comes a time in life when you have to decide whether you want to do what is right for you or what your family expects. Ryder is given a second chance in the NHL and just wants to thrive. When he meets Hannah, the chemistry is off the charts. Unfortunately for him, he has the reputation of being a bad boy which one of Hannah's sisters knows all to well. I thought it was a really nice romance with some drama thrown in. I laughed, cried and just absolutely loved the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

Hannah is tired of living up to everyone elses expectations and feeling like she is failing. So when she isn't accepted into the Grad Program at school she decides to go stay with her pregnamt sister Eloise and her husband to help with their new restraint till the baby arrives.
Ryder is a womanizer who works in an office for an NHL team but has always dreamed of actually playing on the team. When he is given a last chance to make that dream come true he takes it.
When these two meet it isn't all sunshine and roses but as they get to know each other it is a great combination of romance and drama. What a great sports romance.

Change

So much was going on with this story, but how fun was it to watch Ryder finally grow up and become guiding light to help Hannah grow into herself at the same time! I have to say that from the first chapter of Eloise's story, I wasn't a fan of Ryder! He just kept making choices that solidified that opinion, but thank you, Colleen for finding a way to dig him out of that hole and making him one of my favorite book boyfriends!

Ryder & Hannah

Their first meeting was a disaster when Ryder accidentally knocked the tray filled with champagne all over Hannah.

Theirs is a sweet slow burn that has Hannah's sister, Eloise, spouting horrible things about Ryder because of her encounter with him.

Hannah decides that she will put herself first for once and get to know Ryder without all the hate that her sister has for him.

Great story!!!

'The Point' AKA 'The Rebound' was a marvelous narrative. Furthermore, the page-turning plot was focused on absolution, trust, and love. Ryder, a protagonist, appeared to have matured from the previous books in the hockey series. He came into his own! Moreover, I liked the vivid details the author used as they helped to convey an upbeat tone. Hence, I enjoyed reading this book.

Loving

I heartily enjoyed this book about a man obsessed with becoming an NHL player and the sister-in-law of another player he meets at his party when he does make the team. What they each go through before and after getting together is very real.

Description: Book #3 of Rochester Riot Series
Standalone - with characters crossovers
Contemporary Sports Romance Novel
Ryder - Front Office executive and NHL wannabe

This is my favorite book in this series. It has a good mixture of Hockey scenes & sexy spicy scenes. The characters are witty & compelling with real emotions & flaws. The premise of the novel got me interested & did not disappoint. This novel is sweet & mixed with angst. It will make laugh, cry & cheering on Ryder & Hannah. With a fantastic ending a delightful read. I recommend reading this sports romance novel as its splendid. I volunteerly reviewed an advanced reading copy of this book.

**I voluntarily received an Advance Reader Copy of this book**

The Rochester Riot seem to be quite the hockey team. I have never cared much for hockey, but this team has definitely swayed me.

I really enjoyed this story. It is more believable and less fantasy than some. I found the characters very relatable, and the story captivating.

I am hooked this series.

Ryder is a front office man, still yearning for that last shot in the NHL. Hannah is a grad school hopeful, but she compares herself to her sisters and feels that she falls short. There are so many reasons why Ryder and Hannah shouldn't be together, but so many more reasons why they should. But secrets and other obstacles can't help but get in the way. This was a witty, well-written sports romance. Despite the drama there were some good chuckles in the story, as well as some steamy goodness. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Hannah has always lived in the shadows of her older sisters and never felt like she's living up to her parents expectations. Ryder is an arrogant womanizer who never made it into the NHL. Ryder gets a second chance at making it into the NHL at the same time Hannah has an opportunity to move away from her overbearing parents. Sparks fly when these two lost souls meet, however they must overcome many obstacles in order to be together! This book has a great story line and is a great read! Looking forward to reading more of Colleen Charles's books!

This is a fantastic sports romance. Hannah has always lived in her sisters shadows. She has come to a crossroads in life. She has to choose between doing what her family expects of her or take charge of her life and do what makes her happy. Ryder is also at a crossroads in his life. He is given a second chance at a career in the NHL. When Ryder meets Hannah sparks fly. Ryder has a bad boy reputation that Hannah's sister Eloise is all too familiar with. I loved how there relationship unfolded. It had just the right mixture of romance and drama. This is my first read by Colleen Charles and I can't wait to read more.

These are great characters and I enjoy them more because we learn more in each book. Having said that Ryder has been such an arrogant womaniser that I really would have liked more detail of his transformation. The hockey aspect was good as I also learn more about that each time.
Hannah and her family have so many tales to tell! I hope we get more.
A good follow on in the series although it could be read alone.
I voluntarily received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review
