The final novel in bestselling author Melody Anne’s Billionaire Aviators series finds Ace Armstrong back home after years away in the CIA. Faced with the stipulation in his father’s will to find a wife or lose his inheritance, the “black sheep” of the family takes to the skies like his aviator brothers. Soon Ace encounters temptation in the form of the sexy and confident Dakota Forbes, a female pilot who just so happens to be his new sister-in-law’s best friend…and should be off-limits. But Dakota is used to getting what she wants―and she makes it clear she wants Ace. Ace’s previous line of work is not so easily left behind, and soon someone from his past threatens both him and all he holds dear. As Ace’s relationship with Dakota heats up, he’ll be forced to choose whether to walk away in order to keep her safe or risk it all on the breathless high of passion.

I liked this book but it wasn't my favorite within the series. Maybe it was Ace's attitude in the beginning because of how he prioritized his family.
I did, however, like him with Dakota. Mostly because I just loved Dakota in the third book and I was so happy that she was supposed to be the other half for Ace - who we didn't really know much about until this book. Yes, we've seen him here and there or he was mentioned for like a hot second. But this book definitely dived into what he was during with his life and why he always stepped away from his family.
Turbulent Intrigue was a nice audio book, and free on Kindle Unlimited to read as well. Like I said earlier - I did enjoy it. I don't really know, I guess I just liked the other brothers and their love stories more. I just wish I liked Ace more.
Ace prioritizes, “my family can wait,” he said, his eyes dilating as they drifted to the opening of her robe." Ace is n alpha man, and likes things to go his way, "he just smiled at her as people passed by. This was going to be fun. “We can walk out of here side by side, or I can throw you over my shoulder,” he said pleasantly." I freakin' loved Ace him and Dakota clash a lot and she's not a docile woman, she can put Ace in his place and I loved that about her.
~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~
This is the fourth book in the series - and links to a previous series of Ms Anne's too. So anyone who has read one of these will know ... If Sherman is around, then expect some serious fun as a member of his family is enticed into love! It was an inspired idea, and there are clear hints that more young men are about to benefit from his interference in the future!
There have been hints about Ace and his lifestyle in previous books, so it was fascinating to find out just what he had been doing and why. Inevitably it is a worthy reason, and given the nature of his brothers, his tension is unexpected, but they are supportive. He doesn't get it to start with, but by the end has understood that his family do nothing but support him, and is finally ready to embrace that.
Dakota is a really fun character, and thanks to her close friendship with Nick's Chloe, we know of her calm and optimistic outlook. She is undoubtedly just what Ace needs, but he is rightfully fearful of what he brings with him from his past. Her secret shocks him, but thankfully he forgives her approach and they move forward together, swept along with bigger emotions than they ever expected.
I loved the flying lessons, and the sexual tension which affects them both. The drama was well done, giving credence to Ace's fears, and yet proving to him, how his brothers still want to be there for him.
This whole series has been both fun and intense - Thank you Ms Anne.
So sorry to see it end but what a fantastic way to wrap up this series! Even though this is the fourth book in the series you can easily enjoy it without having read the others. Finally the wayward missing Armstrong brother has returned home. For how long? No one knows, not even Ace himself. There's really nothing for him to stay for until he meets the remarkable Dakota Forbes. She makes him rethink what he really wants in life, especially when his old life brings danger to their doorstep and his desire to keep her safe takes over.
This book is from one of my favorite authors. As I started this book I just knew that I did not want it to end. This is a book that I could not put down once I started it, and as a very avid reader of all different genre of books the chemistry between the two main characters made this book even more enjoyable. The action scenes in this book were very exciting and left you rooting for the good guys. I look forward to reading more books from this author.
This book was so much more than I thought it was. I loved the CIA aspect of Ace's character. And I LOVE the name Ace!! There is a brilliant romance between Ace and Dakota that is so unique to this book. A strong female main character, and a male main character that is brought to his knees by his counter character. Another beautifully written story by Melody Anne.
Turbulent Intrigue (Billionaire Aviators #4) by Melody Anne 4 stars M/F Thriller Romance Triggers: Stalking, Kidnapping, Attempted Murder I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
Ace and Dakota are an explosive couple.
Dakota is a strong, knows what she wants type of woman and despite her bravado and spunk, she does have some insecurities that you only catch glimpses of. Her best friend, Chloe is marrying a hunk of a guy and Dakota is now part of the family. The one brother that she hasn't met yet, Ace, is mysterious and elusive. But, putting him aside, Dakota knows that her days as a cheerleader are numbered and she wants to follow in her brothers' footsteps - she wants to become a pilot. When she signs up for lessons, she gets much more than she bargained for.
Ace has lived the past several years of his life as someone else. In order to protect his family from his career, he pushed them away. Being an operative has its drawbacks, but he loves what he does and he is very good at it. When his case completes, he is injured and reeling. He finds himself once again surrounded by his family, which is both comforting and slightly uncomfortable.
When Ace sees Dakota, he's instantly intrigued. She is confident, doesn't take his lip and knows what she wants. Dakota is just as taken with Ace's charm and good looks. They follow a bumpy road to romance and there is a lot of action. This was fast paced, fun and had some great development.
Received an ARC for my fair review for netgalley. This was the last book in series, and I have not read the others, but I will because I want more background. This book keeps you on your toes, it is full of drama, and tight family. Ace is the brother, that his family is worried is on the wrong side, but the truth does come out. He ends up meeting Dakota at his brothers wedding, and the sparks fly. Then the excitement begins...
Affff, what to say?! One thing annoying female. Don’t get me wrong I am totally agree that woman has to be independent, but stupidity is another thing.
Back in Melody Anne's world of matchmaking old men, we finally get to know the last Armstrong brother. After years of thinking the worst of him, they find out that he was actually working for the good guys. As usual, his uncle gets in the matchmaking game and pushes Ace to Dakota, and they end up falling for each other, but there are a lot of fights, games, and danger in the middle.
Ace and Dakota are a good match in the sense that Dakota takes no crap from anyone and can face Ace without fear. The problem is that they are from different worlds and she is not prepared for the danger that follows Ace, and in not accepting or recognizing the risks, she puts herself in danger. At the ends everything is solved and they get together, and everyone is happy. Also, we see the matchmaking friends meeting Dakota's father, so we know the next series is going to feature Dakota's brothers.
I liked Ace & Dakota together, and I'm glad they got their happily ever after, but the mishandling of CIA and medical care was so distracting I had a hard time focusing on their love story. The list of inaccuracies is so long this would be a novel if I tried to expand on all of them, so I'll list a handful and those who understand the fields of medicine and national security can make their own judgement call. If you are okay with totally sensationalized workings of federal agencies and medical care/settings, you might love this book and even find it exciting/believable, but if you live in the DMV and/or work in medicine, the military, another agency, or know anyone in those fields and have been privy to unclassified stories and understand the meaning and importance of a security clearance, you may want to sit this one out. It honestly drove me nuts.
The issues (or at least a few):
- civilians being included in strategic planning and missions with trained federal agents, even if one is a former serviceman
- a CIA agent constantly identifying himself as "with the CIA"
- classified conversations occurring over cell phones and in other unsecured locations
- a severely injured person (2-4 GSW (2 that day, one of which was abdominal, and 2 others a couple of weeks prior three in the same arm/shoulder), a concussion, & who knows what else) going on a mission within hours of surgery, driving himself, & up and walking around at all
- surgery in an exam room with family members present (abdominal bullet extraction) after no diagnostics - came straight in on a gurney, arguing with medics that he doesn't need or have time for their help, & the ED staff immediately started removing bullets & stitching him up while he chats away with his brothers who are in the same room
- time of healing of gunshot wounds, concussions, etc, and level of reasonable activity during the healing timeframe
- how head injuries work
- how bullets are removed and sutured
- trauma management
- automatic administration of Rx pain medications
- 6 guests at a time in TICU while patient is supposedly in recovery - one of whom is no relation to the patient
- a gross disregard of HIPPA in Dakota's situation - doctor reveals info not relevant to her recovery or injuries to her parents, brothers and Ace while she's in recovery without her consent and right after he assured them she should be waking shortly and will make a full recovery
- Ace tells his brothers, their wives, & Dakota details of an undercover assignment
-Ace's handler's insistence that things are coincidental
- the idea that cutting down the head of a cartel would collapse the organization - if that were the case, I doubt drugs would be such a problem
- the naive assumption that because a bad guy is apprehended everyone is now safe. Organized crime is not a solo gig. There would be someone in the wings waiting to carry on, sadly
- a federal agent believing and assuming his whole family would be safe in a central, unsecured location (like his brother's gated house)
I could keep going, but I'll stop here. Let's just say it was hard to overlook, and this isn't even mentioning Ace's bizarre inner monologues and Dakota's refusal to listen to or heed his safety advice. I loved her strength of personality and spunk, but how her head was in the sand regarding safety precautions irritated me to no end. She was smart & that really dumbed down her character, which is extra annoying considering she's a pro cheerleader, as it feeds the ditzy cheerleader stereotype, and she was otherwise a smart, capable, strong woman.
I’ve been anticipating Ace’s story since this series began. There’s just been that something about the youngest bad boy brother that drew me in to his story. It seemed he was the hardest hit, emotionally, by his father’s plan laid out in his will. And perhaps the one brother we knew the least about, except that he truly had been labeled the “black sheep’ of his family. I have to say that Ace’s story was worth every moment I scanned titles and looked for release dates.
Ace has spent so many years deep undercover as a CIA agent. All that hard work has finally paid off with a huge bust. Injured, Ace has returned home believing that life can now move on, that it might finally be safe to be home with his brothers and their wives. One of the reasons he’s stayed away was to avoid bringing his undercover troubles to his family’s doorstep. Now seems the time to recoup, relax and try to rebuild his relationships with his family. But life doesn’t always go as planned.
Dakota is such a unique character, a bit different from what we’d normally expect in Melody Anne’s heroines… and I absolutely loved her. She has a certain quirk (that the author tells us about upfront) that is endearing and brings a chuckle every time. I’ll let you discover what that is yourself. She’s strong, independent, sexy, beautiful and has her life planned out. She certainly wasn’t expecting her reaction to her best friend’s new bad boy brother-in-law, but hey she’s not one to back down from a flirt.
Turbulent Intrigue is my favorite story of this series, and I don’t admit to favorites often. Ace and Dakota make a perfect couple in that their strengths and weaknesses are offset by each other. Neither takes crap from anyone, each is stubborn especially when they believe they are right. They simply worked as a couple for me, and I had no doubts that they belonged together. There is danger, intrigue, threads of the mystery leading back to Ace’s CIA work to be caught up on. The enjoyment of seeing two strong people come to realize that yeah, even they can fall in love. And the wonderful interactions of this whole family to enjoy. Everyone has each other’s back without question, that’s what family does.
I’m going to miss the Armstrong boys and their ladies, it’s been such an adventure with them all. But Sherman and Joseph aren’t quite done with their matchmaking just yet. Seems Dakota has some single brothers, and the matchmakers plus one are already whispering in quiet corners… looking forward to what comes next from Melody Anne’s imagination.
If you’re looking for a story with intrigue, interesting characters, some fun sexy moments, a deep true love and the special moments that only family can provide… then Turbulent Intrigue and this entire series should be on your reading shelf. I would highly recommend them for any Romance reader. Indulge yourself and enjoy.

Was ihm allerdings nicht gelingt.
Turbulent Intrigue is a fun, easy read that would be an excellent choice to throw in your bag for a day at the beach or a boring PTA meeting you are desperately trying to escape.
Technically, I was delighted to see this book free of head hopping and typos. However, there were several word echoes throughout the book, sometimes more than one clustered close together. There were also excessive dialogue tags. These are things that wouldn’t have stuck out to me in a novel if I were reading before becoming a more avid writer myself, but these are things that are stumbling blocks for me and things I have to catch in my own writing.
Ace and Dakota were unquestionably hot. Their every interaction needed to come with a ‘highly flammable’ warning label. Their chemistry was off the charts and from their first encounter I was rooting for them as a couple. That said, sometimes their ‘voice’ felt off. By that, I mean that I find it hard to picture a CIA agent and an NFL cheerleader or, frankly, anyone outside of a historical novel uses the word ‘bed’ as a verb. Also, Ace calling Dakota darling felt forced. If he were southern I could hear ‘darlin’, if he were an affluent silver spoon baby, perhaps it would feel more authentic.
The plot was intriguing and suspenseful. Several times I held my breath, both scared and excited to see what was coming next and if indeed, Ace and Dakota could survive another attack. I did find some of their choices suspect. For example, Ace refused to go to the hospital to get two bullets removed from his shoulder, but the very next day when they are in a plane crash he and Dakota are both checked out at the ER.
Finally, (and once again, this is not something the average reader would know, but I have a pilot in my life) the flight training was not accurately portrayed. Anyone hoping to eventually obtain their commercial rating would absolutely be highly governed by their instruments. To this end, during training pilots are given special visors that eliminate their ability to look out the window and fly ONLY based on their instrument panel. Additionally, for a first flight, a good instructor wouldn’t have the trainee banking or make 360 turns. That’s reckless and irresponsible.
Again, many of my opinions are based on my unique background and wouldn’t bother most readers. As such, they should be taken with a grain of salt and the heart of this story should be enjoyed for the suspenseful love tale it is.
I was really looking forward to Ace's story because he was like the black sheep of the family. So I was one hundred percent sure that I was going to love this book. Did I love it? I will let you know in a second, but first let me give a little information about the story. This is the fourth book in the billionaire aviator series and Ace, along with his three brothers, has to get married or they will not receive their inheritance. Ace took his father's words the hardest and found solace by joining the CIA. All the other brothers are married now (spoiler alert) and enjoying the family lifestyle and meanwhile, Ace is returning home after being injured while working on a case. While attending one of his brother's wedding, he meets Dakota and the story takes off.
Now, I really liked book 1 and book 3 of this series(book 2 was not that good) and I could not wait to read Ace's story. Ace was the most interesting, besides Nick, and I think that is why the author waited to the last book of the series to explore his story. The book had a hot hero and a "I am not a victim" heroine to carry this story, but this book was borderline cartoonish. I am a huge fan of Melody Anne, but this book was a "no" for me. This book is written in third person pov and it was wordy with almost no real dialogue for the romance aspect of the story. Ace is not interesting one bit and yes, he is a CIA agent and a total gun toting bad ass, but that was it for the most part. The character that I was eager to read about practically disappeared and I was left with the shell of his former self. Dakota on the other hand was no better. She was a 27 year old cheerleader and wait for it …. A virgin no matter. I absolutely hate when authors make 27 through 30 year old virgins without a probable cause. Dakota was a social butterfly and it just did not tie in with her character. The ending was very cliché and could have been left out and it wouldn't have made much of a difference.
This story was unrealistic, cartoonish, and the main characters was boring with no real chemistry. The last 70% of the book is supposed to be this CIA mission type of thing and even that falls flat. I am so disappointed with this story. You can also check out my other reviews for this series on my blog

Turbulent Intrigue is the fourth book in Melody Anne's Billionaire Aviators series. Though it can be read as a stand alone, I would highly recommend the entire series. Each book in the series features one Armstrong brother and are filled with action, suspense, romance and combustible chemistry. I have to admit, I have been looking forward to the release of this book because I was dying to know more about Ace Armstrong, the main character. Melody Anne more than met my expectations with this incredible story.
Ace Armstrong has been in the CIA for the past decade. He has been forced to distance himself from his family, for their safety. He did whatever it took to make this happen, but the always kept tabs on his family, no matter what they thought of him. After finally closing the case he had been working years on, an injury forces Ace to go home. The last thing he expects is to meet Dakota, his sister-in-law's best friend.
Dakota is the only girl in a family of five children. Having four older brothers has taught her a thing or two on how to handle a man, by not putting up with their antics. Her experience as a cheerleader for the Seattle Seahawks has also come in handy. She has heard of Ace for some time and from what his family has told her, she is intrigued.
One of my favorite things about this entire series is Ace's Uncle Sherman and his meddling antics. I love how Melody Anne featured this at the end of the book, making me hope that this will not be the last I hear from him. He is a character that wormed his way into my heart and I am not ready to let go of. I can't wait to see what Melody has in store for us next!
PS- The audio version of this book only enhances Melody Anne's talent as a writer. Teri Clark Linden kept my interest and make each character come to life.
Melody Anne’s “Billionaire Aviators Series” is still as intense as the passion that smolders between the protagonists, choppy and turbulent as the waters and skies they ride and just as warm and lovely as the Armstrong brothers try to find love albeit the demands of their father’s will.
Years in the CIA kept Ace Armstrong away from his family, to protect and to serve his purpose. And finally comes the time to clear the misunderstandings and bridge the gap between siblings and what a sibling wedding seems to be the perfect setup to clear the air and recuperate from injuries. But Ace never saw the turbulence called Dakota Forbes entering his life and he’s not sure if Dakota is more dangerous to his life or the intriguing threats that are dogging him, placing his family in danger.
The ever positive, and charming Dakota Forbes wants to live life to the fullest. With a smart mouth and a sassy attitude, she keeps Ace on his toes and his heart in flitters, all the while hoping to keep her distance from the dangerous Ace. But then heart and mind never are in tandem, and with Dakota getting into the crosshairs of Ace’s dangerous past, she’s forced to stick close to Ace…finally giving her heart and soul to her future.
The final book in the Billionaire Aviators Series, “Turbulent Intrigue” is a wonderful ending to the Armstrong siblings’ saga. Coming together finally after their father’s death, clearing misunderstandings and finding their futures, coming together as one to fight back against the danger that comes to their doorstep, Melody Anne did a brilliant job giving a perfect ending to their stories.
Received an ARC from Montlake Romance via NetGalley for an honest review.
Loved the story so much that I didn't want it to end. Ace has been protecting his family from the drug traders / mob bosses he was been working with (secretly with the CIA) for the last 10 years. When the CIA finnally has enough evidence to close the opperation down, Ace is injured in an explosion at the home where the drug trafficers are giving a party. Ace wakes up in the hospital with all his family around him. The famil.y was informed that Ace had been employed with the CIA and working a case that invloled him keeping himself undercover, and away from his family (for their safety). Ace learns that his youngest brother will be getting amrried the following weekend. Little does Ace know that he will meet the woman of his dreams at the same wedding. The two meet at the wedding and there is a major attraction to each other. Ace though is not sure if he can give his whole heart to Dakota, due tothe dangerous people he put behind bars while working with the CIA. Dakota is just as stuborn and he is. She grew up with older brothers and knows how to handle herself very well with domanite men. Dakota's home is invaded by robbers, so she thinks, until Ace saves the day by going through a back door to save Dakota from the invaders. Ace is shot and has told Dakota that they need to get him to his brother's home. Ace has a feeling that the mob has come after him, and is trying to hurt his family. I won't give the story away, but I will give a small hint that the reader will enjoy the action in the story. I would strongly recconmend this story for readers of Lori Foster and Cherry Adair.
I really really loved this book, especially Dakota is a wonderful heroine but I was a bit surprised as the story is very different from the one described in the blurb. Nevertheless, it is fast-paced, full of action and amazing characters and I just couldn't put the book down once I had started reading.
Ace is troubled due to everything he experienced in his time working undercover for the CIA and well, getting blown up wasn't a very good way to reunite with his family. Okay, it might have made things a bit more emotional but, seriously, there are definitely better ways to reconnect. Dakota is simply wonderful. I fell in love with that girl right away I think. She is funny, sassy, sweet, charming and courageous. You can easily see why Ace falls for her and would do everything to keep her alive no matter what happens. And there is a lot that happens. Sometimes it is not easy to leave the past in the past where it belongs, sometimes it comes back to haunt you...
I loved the chemistry and the interaction of Ace and Dakota and I loved to see how Ace reconnected with his family. Slowly, tentatively but when things get rough, his family is there for him.
I really enjoyed reading this book and can definitely recommend it - and even though this book is a standalone you should be prepared for desperately to read the other books in the "Billionaire Aviators" - series as well when you have finished "Turbulent Intrigue".
**I received a copy Turbulent Intrigue from Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review**
Turbulent Intrigue by Melody Anne is the fourth and final book of the Armstrong brothers. We finally get to met Ace who has always been in the shadows for Cooper, Maverick and Buck's books, and the strong woman who will have Ace rethinking love and his job.

They both realize they can't live without each other (Even though he keeps getting injured).

Will Ace's be able to finally put to rest old demons have a everlasting love and will he finally leave the CIA when a new case becomes available?
Der Abschlussband war wahnsinnig spannend gemacht geworden. Was nicht zuletzt an Ace seinen Beruf lag.
This book was intense from the get go. If you are into romance with line of duty action than this book will be perfect for you.
Ace Armstrong is a man who will put his loved ones safety before his, even if it means for him to be emotionally distraught and physically injured. Dakota Armstrong is not your idea of a typical cheerleader. She grew up in a household with strong men which shaped her into a strong, get what I want type of gal.
From the first time that he came back home after a few years, Ace was not sure what would be waiting for him. So when he first met strong willed Dakota he was greatly intrigued and hooked.
But the danger that his line of work brings to his plate and those around him, is having him fight the feelings that are surging from interacting with Dakota.
Dakota is intrigued by Ace because she wants to fix what is broken but this excuse and her independence is causing her to fight what she is soon about to feel.
The danger following Ace, pushes Dakota and him closer together without much room to fight their feelings.
A great novel that will have the reader spiraling down the emotional roller coaster of both Dakota and Ace.
A really enjoyable, fast paced romance from a hugely talented author! This is the fourth (and final) in the Billionaire Aviators series, and although it was quite clear that the other Armstrong brothers had their own stories this in no way spoiled my enjoyment in Ace and Dakota's story.
I loved Ace Armstrong and Dakota Forbes, both as individuals and as a romantic pair. Dakota embodied strength and confidence without being arrogant and obnoxious, and Ace was strong and protective, but still willing to step back when his inclination was to wrap all those he loved in cotton wool!!!The plot was exciting from the very beginning when we're introduce to Ace the CIA Agent and didn't let up until the final pages. Their romance was equally well written from their first meeting an,d aside from a couple of 'too stupid to live' moments from Dakota (which is par for the course in most romances so I'm not holding it against Anne) I enjoyed the pair of them throughout!
This series is (very loosely) connected to Anne's 'Anderson' series and unless I've totally misread the end of the book has set things up for Dakota's brothers to be the next bachelor's to kiss their single lives goodbye.
