Another great, short history of the characters form A Blood Prophecy. This one takes us back to Amber's birth and we meet her family and find out why she was put up for adoption.
The beginning of this story grabs you and pulls you in fast. If you are familiar with the rest of the books you will be out of the loop. The urgency with the birth of Miriam and Nikoli baby Amber is to keep her out of the hands of the Dark man. Their baby is filled with the magic of “All knowing, and All seeing.” I love the way the baby Amber communicates with her parents. The love she has for them is very amazing, her love was there for them way before she was in the womb. Everyone know the prophecy for this baby and they are trying to keep her safe and protected. The character Malakai has bonded with her through imprinting. He will do whatever it takes to keep Amber safe. Her parents has to give Amber up so that she can be safe, but Malakai refuses to leave her side. That is a deep kind of love. I would say the only thing that bothered me with this story is, not only is this a new story on it’s own, but some elements made me think of Twilight. I know we all have to start from somewhere, but I would have like somethings to be different. I give this review a 4 out of 5 stars. It kept me interested in the outcome, and it held my attention from the beginning. I loved this series. Barb Jones is an excellent writer. I look forward to more series.
