Whether fishing in Canada, flying an airplane in Germany, designing a dress in Togo, or husking corn in China, people all over the world are hard at work. Hard work can make you tired, but it can make you feel good, too! This lively photographic look at work invites children on a trip around the world and provides a glimpse into the rich variety of world cultures.

Summary:
The simple text (three-six words on a page) of this text is supported by the fantastic photographs, offering readers a glimpse at how people around the world share in the same task: work. Readers are shown how men, women, and children work together or alone, at home or away, all across the globe! We see a chef in France putting the finishing touches on a delicious dish, a father and son weaving fishing traps on the Ivory Coast, a seamstress making a dress in Togo, and a young boy counting his vegetable inventory at a market in Portugal, to name just a few. The final three pages provide readers with an photograph index, naming the country and the work being done in each photograph, as well as a map on the final page entitled, "Where in the world were these photographs taken?" What a powerful way to expose young readers to the connections and diversity we share around the world!
