She was a peerless genius in the 24th Century – all she needed was a silver needle and she could practically bring anyone back from the dead.
After an explosion, she crossed over into a strange world; everyone calls her “Miss.” The previous “Miss” before had no contractual spirit, was weak and incompetent, and even the fiancé comes over with a new love and bullies her?
Now that she has taken over, who dares to act so presumptuously around her? With needles in hand, the world is for her to own! Wherever she goes, miracles follow! However, she saved a pest. What was she thinking when she saved that man. His stunning demeanor and impeccable face is a huge contrast to his cruel actions. He tries all ways to win her over.
This is an interesting cross over story with some magic, romance and a black bellied miss as the main character.
To tell the truth, I didn't have the intention to read this novel, at first I thought it might be boring and wasting of time. BUT while reading the summary at novelupdates.com I got fascinated by "All she needed was a silver needle and she could practically bring anyone back from dead" so I dig my nose in.
Jun Wu Xie, this name of this woman will be deeply engraved in my mind, her coldness and calmness nature, her icely gazes, her warmth feeling towards her grandfather and uncle, her elegance, superb beauty and of course her heavenly skills on medicine, they all enough reasons to make you fell in love with her.
The events of the story are steady, although every chapter is a page and half (sometimes 2 pages) but you never fell bored, on contrast the excitement and the massive changes happening in the story makes you want to finish it in one session.
When she cured her uncle from the poison that said to be uncurable by the sovereign of the Qing Yun Clan, the story got more and more amazing, and when she made the Jade Dew Pills that said to be top secret pills of the Qing Yun Clan form just smelling the ingredients in half a day (As Bai instructed it takes 2-3 days to prepare 1 bottle) and what more she made TWO bottles she slapped that arrogant Bai Yun Xian and the playboy Second Prince Mo Xuan Fei a resonant slap.
Also what pushes me to read this novel is that mysterious man named Jun Wu Yao, his mysterious nature, and his mysterious power made you think that either he's a contractual spirit who slayed his master or worst he's some kinda demonic beast.
Finally this novel reached 3123 chapters and to tell you the truth I wish I could understand Chinese so I could've read it directly after finishing the 600 translated chapter!
PS: I focused on my review on Jun Wu Xie because she's the MC and since her grandfather and uncle didn't needed to be mentioned to that extent in this review, that doesn't mean I neglected them, they are also hold major roles in this novel.
Phew! Like finally..I managed to finish reading this online. Usually, I just needed a day to complete reading a novel, no matter how thick it is. At most a week. But somehow, anything online took me longer than my norm and I'm still wondering why as the chapters are short albeit thousands chapters per book.
I like how this book centralised on Jun Wu Xie. Her journey from Lower Realm to God's Level. Eventhough, its quite similar to a few of the transmigration story that I have read, her journey to advance and destroy the evil made the difference. Add in her close relationships with her maternal side and her close friends, (Rong Ruo, Fei Yan, Chu Xiao, Huo Yan and Fan Zhuo), it really toppled over all the books that I have read.
I cried over her lost in Middle Realm and again during her journey at Upper Realm while searching for her father. Their friendship and sacrifice for Jun Wu Xie well being really tugged my heart.
There are many characters that was added on but are not that significant. However, how I wish she could have bonded more with both Prince at Lower Realm and also Fan Jin, Middle Realm. Since their goals in life clashes, she didn't give them any attention once she has completed her mission. This actually upsets me as I felt that their bond shdnt be cut off as totally insignificant at all after all they have been through together.
One character that I found quite hard to hate is Gu Ying. He is just a tool to an end for the God of Destruction. He didn't get the warmth and could never understand love due to his upbringing. He was utterly unfeeling, evil and killed without remorse. He realised all that towards the end of the story. I'm quite bitter on his behalf. Luckily, he still has Gu Xin Yan.
Missing in action was Little Jue..his scene made me cry too. But after that his appearance was just like the rest of the supporting characters. Well, if there's chance in future I might reread this book again.
Jun Wu Xie is cold and unfeeling. However, she didn't have the ability to express herself in words and had a paralyse facial expression. Rarely, u will get to see her display of emotions.
Jun Wu Yao (Ye Jue) - no words to describe. Just His Awesomeness. 🤣🤣 Big Brother to Wu Xie friends.

Power Ability Recap, built up strength. (From low to high)
Lower Realm At age 14 will kids be able to cultivate their spirit strength when they received ring spirit.
It depends on what kind of ring spirit a person received. They are not only helping their master in cultivation but also provide additional support when duelling.
Plant spirit is the most rare. Most don't even know how to cultivate using them and some are not even aware they had plant spirit at all.
Strength, based on colour upgrade, gained by cultivating thru their ring spirit or their surrounding. And each colour have about 4 or 5 level, I think, starting from Red before proceeding Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Purple.
Once someone reaches the height of purple colour, they will immediately be recruited by people from Middle Realm.
Red are abundance, Blue are considered the most senior and Indigo are their school headmaster, usually although few purple spirit are made to avail at Lower Realm.
Middle Realm Purple and Silver.
Not many know how to fuse with their ring spirit during battles.
Once someone reaches Gold spirit level, they will be scouted over by people from Upper Realm.
Upper Realm Gold strength are abundance. Not many have ring spirit though. And those whom had it, not many knows how to fuse with their strength. Those who can fuse will have a few levels to achieve too. And there will be no colour upgrade.
Their method of cultivating is thru consumming sea spirit blood and spare parts right from when they were born. Those who survive will be trained as soldiers, and those who didn't, they couldn't be bothered to even bury them. Lack of paternal and maternal care and feeling. Backstabbing in order to survive.
Motto of Upper Realm : To Each His Own. Only the Strongest is King.
After Gold spirit, is the fusion of their ring and strength. And there's only one cultivators who has dual ring spirit. (Red, Green, Blue)
Gold spirit cant travels to Lower Realm as there will be a reduction in power as the atmosphere is not suitable for their cultivation. Thus, the people from Upper Realm will make use of those from Middle Realm to caused havoc on the Lower Realm.
That is how war started..by searching for the Dark Emperor Tomb. The journey began when Jun Wu Xie family were implicated by Qi Country Emperor whom has the intention to eliminate them and their Rui Lin Army.
Ah, I really enjoyed reading this book at first. But later, as I reread it a few times, I discovered some disturbing things.
Firstly, I’ll rate the book 3 stars.
Truth to be told, the author of this book had originally been one of my favorite Chinese web novel authors. This specific author tends to show the main character’s rise in power precisely, and how she face-slaps and sneers at everyone that had originally belittled the original body.
So, yes, a good thing about this web novel is that after our female lead transmigrates into the body, she very quickly gets revenge for the original host.
But then, a few months later, after finishing this novel, I decided to come back and re-read it. Oh boy, oh boy… I finally noticed some REALLY disturbing details.
Firstly, let’s start off with a detail that I have no idea how I had managed to overlook… Okay, so… Ready for it? Well… The male lead is a pervert.
He’s like a few thousand years old and he keeps on touching the female lead. Not in that way, but still very disturbingly. Keep in mind that although the female lead is an adult mentally (like she was in her mid-twenties when she transmigrated), her body is still a young teenage girl’s. Oh, but no, no! For some reason, it’s OKAY for the male lead to do the not exactly most appropriate things. Gosh, how did I overlook this when first reading this novel…?
Continuing on, secondly, thanks to the many quick transmigration system novels that I just had recently read, I now realize. Our female lead is actually a heartless murderer.
Authors in the genre of transmigrating and face-slapping, always justify protagonists killing innocents as: “Oh, they did something bad. They deserve it.” But remember, there was a time where she killed a man JUST FOR INSULTING HER. In real life, YOU DO NOT KILL A PERSON JUST FOR SLIGHTING YOU.
I repeat: IN REAL LIFE, YOU DO NOT KILL SOMEONE JUST FOR INSULTING YOU.
Oh, but apparently in this book, our female lead can. Why? Because they insulted her, because no one can, or should, be able to get away with insulting her. Seriously, where’s the logic in this book?
But, to be fair, the author did improve. One of her other novels, The Good For Nothing Seventh Young Lady, had a protagonist that never failed in anything she did. The other protagonist of that novel had never lost anything. At least in this web-novel, you see our female lead fail and pay the price for her loss, (even if it was only once).
So to conclude, I suppose this was an okay, if not a little bit above average, read. I think that as long as you’re able to overlook those two disturbing facts, then you’ll be able to enjoy this novel immensely. There’s a lot of face-slapping, at least!
Sometimes, you're just in the mood to turn your brain off and read a mindless revenge novel where the protagonist solves all her problems with poison, torture, and gory murder. (She technically does healing too, but not often and mostly relies on special cheats to succeed). As the title implies, she's not a good person at all, her backstory leading her to be incredibly emotionally stunted with a distinct lack of empathy or any kind of moral center. She has a very close circle of people she cares about, and she'll happily trample over everyone else to protect them. The main (non-cannon fodder) villains in this novel are quite good. Even when their schemes are foiled by the protagonist, they've at least put some thought into the schemes, and they aren't complete push-overs. The final confrontation especially was quite tense.
The main romance of this story starts off *incredibly* weak, with a male lead who's never heard of the word consent. And the only reason the protagonist lets him get away with it is because her lack of experience with human interaction means she doesn't understand he's taking advantage of her. Honestly, this was so off-putting I almost ditched the book altogether. But it does improve once she figures out her emotions and what she wants, and she begins taking initiative and causing him to be the passive flustered one instead.
Still, I personally liked the romances of the side characters much better. Fei Yan/Rong Ruo was great, and tbh, I wish she'd picked any of her wives/women who fell for her instead of the ML.
I'd only rec this book to fast readers who are in the mood for a villainous protagonist and lots of violent combat.
TL;DR is that it’s not bad, but various things ruined it for me, those being:
1. Bad translation 2. Authors’ greed and stup … lack of intelligence 3. Author’s misplaced (and too much) focus on torture, horror and revenge. 4. Kind of cliché, kind of weak ending, not enough after stories.
And now for the long version.
1. Bad translation (I read the webnovel version)
At the beginning it was kinda OK, but it still had major issues like saying the same thing twice but with a slight twist, like: young youth, childish juvenile, etc.
Then towards the last 500 chapters it gets even worse and in places it’s no better than machine translation, I could hardly make out what they were trying to say, but it hardly mattered because...
2. Authors’ greed and stupidity
… because 20-40% of the text is irrelevant, it’s all useless garbage that just adds girth for no reason, stuff like: over-explanations, explaining obvious things, recaps, summaries, re-explanations, etc.
All this does is slow down the pacing of the story (by a lot) and piss me off which also breaks the immersion, it also makes you feel like the author is treating you like an 8 year old ret*ard, who needs all the over/re explanation or you just won’t get it, this also means that there is almost nothing for the more intelligent readers to figure out by themselves, you are robbed of the joy of discovery by the author themselves.
I even developed a kind of speed-reading technique where I just read the first 3-5 words of a paragraph to determine if it's worth skipping or not, most of the times only the dialogues needed to be read, but there were pages of trash in between them and by the time someone answered you forgot to what, even the author forgot sometimes.
And speaking of the author ruining their own story, while other authors spoil their own stories with chapter titles, this author also sometimes adds a line or two at the end of a few chapters that spoil hundreds of chapters at once. You need to be a special kind of idi0t to think that that will keep your readers hooked.
I read a handful of these Chinese/Korean cultivation novels and for a while I thought it was just something in their water or maybe they all studied under the same idi0t of a teacher, but I think I finally figured it out.
I’m fairly convinced now that these authors are padding their stories on purpose, either so that they can sell more volumes (40% more text means 40% more volumes which means 40% more revenue) or they can publish 40% more chapters and therefore get 40% more tokens/coins on online reading sites.
But the author forgets that this kind of behavior means fewer readers and therefore less revenue, in fact they are sabotaging their entire countries authors with it.
3. Author’s misplaced (and too much) focus on torture, horror and revenge.
Not sure if it’s true (don’t care enough to look into it) but it feels like the author is a female woman… (it’s an inside joke). I think this because while this is still a cultivation story which focuses fairly heavily (but not uncommonly) on action it lacks attention to detail, sure there is a kind of leveling up but cultivation wise there is nothing but a few words said and only for the MC, and how you travel from one realm to the other is ignored entirely, it seems like you just walk there, but then why and how is there even a separation? And this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Things that I would consider interesting and important are ruthlessly ignored and instead we get an inappropriate amount of focus on torture and horror.
I don’t mind stories with killing, in fact I welcome them, but who wants to hear long details description of teenage girls getting beaten to paste, whipped until they break in 2 and their guts fall out, gang-r*ped for 3 days straight ? I don’t care if they deserved it or not, you still have to be a psychopath to enjoy reading about such things, and the fact the stories with female MC’s (and probably female authors) seem to have this in common is not helping the “women are crazy psycho b*tches” stereotype at all.
Also I thought there would be more romance in this, but instead we get an ML that in the beginning was a complete sexual harassing asshole, and knowing that the FL is gonna fall in love with that psycho looser was not a good feeling, thankfully he changed pretty quickly.
The revenge part can be very satisfying but not when it’s one after another and not when it could have been avoided easily, in fact while reading it I thought the title “I won’t save you, but I will get revenge for you” seemed far more fitting.
Instead I would have preferred more technical details and more character development, specially the side characters, which brings me to …
4. Kind of cliché, kind of weak ending, not enough after stories.
The ending felt a little rushed, certain not so small details where forgotten or ignored, like a certain group that were given just 1 job (to guard her parents), but that didn’t happen… I guess with webnovels that publish each chapter separately it’s too much work or impossible to go back and fix things so they make sense.
The last/boss fight was anticlimactic, kinda cliché and short and the after stories… well there was one and it tied 1 or 2 loose ends but left a lot open/unresolved, we were also introduced (or more like not introduced) to a few new people, it felt like we should already know them (maybe from a previous story), anyway, I didn’t like that and neither did I like the way any of the other characters in the story were introduced, there is a certain way to introduce people, but the author doesn’t know them, which makes for bad storytelling, but that’s another thing most asian authors also suck at.
Which really sucks for me because cultivation stories are my favorite, but they are told by the worst storytellers, filled with cr*ap and have the worst translations…
But a TV/anime adaptation would fix all that and add so much more to it, if done properly, but that hasn’t happened yet, for any webnovel.
I'm not gonna say don't read it, but consider other stories first.
fan translated version of move. Translators misty cloud translations Chapters 1-223 this is just me diving the 3123 chapter evenly between 14 novels Manga novel Chapters 1-71 Jan, 7, 2023
I've finished this and i think this is the best transmigation story around. Face slapping, revenge and a really smart FL who doesn't rely much on the ML.
I love how Jun Wu Xie developed herself and improved even her relationship with others. She overcomed every thing because she carefully thought of things before acting. It's such a breath of fresh air to have an FL who is not a damsel in distress because seriously it gets tiring to read sometimes. I've finished this and binged read until i gained dark circles around my eyes. It's that good!
Although at first I was hoping for more romance with Ye Jue and Wu Xie but the adventures and excitement sufficed the lack of romance.
what made me really sad was the ending, although it's happy ending, i was hoping for more information about the other characters, what happened to the upper realm and the people there. there were questions that i hope were answered. I just thought the ending lacks the satisfaction that the whole novel deserved since it's such a great novel. Nevertheless , i would still recommend it because you will not once hate the FL.
Nothing genius about this doctor, at all. There are no acts of genius, merely using 'magical' items that happen to be available. And there are no explanations (since no act of genius occurs). So it basically misses the most crucial aspect of 'genius' stories.
Sadly, this misleading title is what drew me in, I had been hoping for something intelligent. Instead I got chapter after chapter of descriptions of handsome men for no reason, punctuated by short stints of magical medicine, and surrounded by the male lead of the story constantly touching the female lead inappropriately.

Reading this online so not quite sure which "book" I am up to - but I'm about two thirds of the way through.
It started like a fairly typical transmigration novel, but I love the depth to the FL and I've fallen in love with more and more of the supporting cast. At over 3,000 chapters in total, it's a long one (I've been reading for nearly two months - off and on - and still have a way to go), but so far I highly recommend it.
I'm honestly kinda mad this is split into 14 books on goodreads, It would've been my longest book. like 15 721 pages, everyone has to know, I'm telling everyone I meet. I'm splitting it by every 7% done, I mark the next book complete.
I read the manhua to this book, so the first part is all good and familiar. She's a great Mc, he is not an annoying Ml and people getting beat up has been satisfying so no complaints so far:)
Black Belly Miss is really a sweet and interesting novel with many twist and turns. I love how the author described the way the MC knew about love through the Dark Emperor, Ye Jue and I also love their love story.
this takes me back of my jhs years. actually my very first cn reads! i enjoyed the op fl and face slapping before lol. i didn't finished it since i haven't discovered mtl ✨ before.
Firstly, 3000+ chapters is super intimidating. Thankfully that is the result of a web release schedule and many are listed as parts of the same chapter title—combining six, fourteen, or even twenty eight parts into one. 780 chapters spread over 3 volumes (more in the translation edition) is still a lot, but more manageable than an initial look at the table of contents leads readers to believe. Admittedly it can be disheartening to look up at chapter 74 and notice you are only 2.4% of the way through so maybe turn that feature off if using an e-reader edition. Further, the manga/webtoon version has less nuance and moves quicker, but is close enough that scouting some chapters would help make an informed decision on whether you want to commit or not to reading the novel. Anyhow, I feel this is a decent example of Chinese transmigrator tales. Our protagonist lands in a historical adjacent cultivation world taking over a teen body with issues that are easily resolved with skills from the previous life or the product of hidden talents (in this case a rare plant spirit contractor). The focus is on character melodrama, revenge, and face slapping shenanigans [picture broken engagements, army control tokens, harem infighting, ruined performances, and the like]. There is a cycle of receiving insults, powering up, and confronting enemies. The villains are cartoonishly evil, some cold super powerful male will assist the damsel (in this case a demon king), and side characters tend to be rather one-note. Someone might suddenly use a power that was never listed before and might not come up again because it is about defying expectation rather than reasoned logic. It will review the tier system but expects readers to be familiar with qi, elemental magical, alchemy pill creation, ascension and more. The cultural symbology is there but doesn’t always translate well. Personally I struggle with some of the underlying themes regarding like prioritized female purity or nonconsensual interactions with fourteen-year-olds. Specific to this entry I found Shadow, the cat, was a good stand in for reader commentary. He foams insults no one else hears, confirms power level suspicions, and explains odd behaviors of the protagonist with armchair psychology. While I don’t think it reflects the value of a person, I thought the negative feelings Uncle Jing has regarding his broken limbs were valid and emotionally moving. I found the repetitive prose (descriptions and information) annoying. Further, I thought it hurts itself some because almost all of the initial conflicts (overthrowing the emperor, establishing power, and learning to love her family) are completed. While the stakes will raise and new villains will come they won’t have much to do with this seemingly finished tale. * _*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_* Summary: In the first arc, Jun Wuxie and bound soul Shadow traverse dimensions after an explosion and land in the shattered body of a maiden. They crawl into a cave where they find a bound entity and trade his freedom for assistance. She awakens to discover Jun Wuxie has taken her to the host’s family at Lin Palace. She adjusts during the month of her recovery and confronts the Second Prince who calls off their engagement while showcasing his new love from the Quig-yung Sect. Wuxie uses her medical knowledge to restore her uncle’s limbs, increase the power of the Rui Army, and cultivate her strength. Meanwhile the Emperor mistakenly believes it would be a good time to get rid of the Lin family and finds himself stopped by a spirited young lady.

I randomly feel like sharing one of my most favorite novel series that I’ve ever read. Genius Doctor: Black Belly Miss. This is the cultivation and alchemist genre with 3123 chapters 🥲 which is basically my lengthiest novel so far (I don’t even know how I managed to finish it too haha) P.s. I even managed to reread up to several hundreds 😂😂 what a mood!
The MC was a peerless genius in the 24th Century – all she needed was a silver needle and she could bring practically bring anyone back from the dead. She crossed over to the historical period and became the miss of the Jun household which was the most powerful family clan in that period with the reputation of being the commander. Yet, with the highest and most reputable clan, the royalty fears the coup. Living in the world of cultivation with no no contractual spirit, she was bound to be bullied by the so-called fiancé which was one of the princes (from my vague memory). Now that she has taken over, miracles follow! She had solved her family’s predicament in that kingdom. Nevertheless, this was just the beginning as the world is too vast with many high-ranking cultivators all around the continents clashing with the demons whose king was the one the MC had once saved and had been trying all means to win her over. 😂 #绝世神腹黑大小姐 #bookreview
Was in search of reading some Chinese Light novels and this was a good first start. Completed the entire series so far(til Chap 1900). The chapters are short but fun to read. The main character's rise to greatness is reminiscent of the Count of Monte Cristo and Red Rising. Am definitely keeping an eye on this genre and will read more of these for sure.
I've decided to treat each page as a chapter. Currently black belly Miss has moved to web novel, with 2013 chapters translated. I freaking adore this novel.
