.DISAPPOINTING.
It pains me to give this book such low rating cause I loved this couple so much in 'Beautiful Disaster' but this was terrible!
This book had me bored from the first chapter. It didn't have a point. The only thing that the book contained was Shepley and America's internal monologues about marriage and an ending so predictable and boring I almost drooled on my precious tablet.
I expected so much more from this.
I know... I know.. Travis&Abby sells. We get that. But was it really necessery to see them on every other page of the book? Geez! It's fucking 100 pages, it's already hardly considered a book and half of it is for other fucking people?kajfdes@
Half of the time I was forgetting whose book I was reading.
I still love America's spunk and Shepley's dorkiness just not on this.

Abby and Travis are my most favorite couple in the world and Travis is my UBB (Ultimate Book Boyfriend)...so I couldn't pass the opportunity to read about their life a little bit more.
True...this book is about America (Abby's best friend) and Shepley (Travis's cousin) and their story but here and there we get glimpses of Abby and Travis's story and their happily ever after :D
Ok ok...enough spoilers :P
America and Shepley have been together a long time and their road has been rocky sometimes but never impossible. I loved the fact that their relationship seamed so real to me...it wasn't some fairytale and they had the normal problems of normal couples.
They find themselves at a crossroad in their relationship and before they can clear things up disaster strikes and now they can't find one another and they don't even know if the other one is alive.
But in the end they manage to find their way back to each other and get the happily ever after they both deserve :D
This was a wonderful novella and if you're a Beautiful Disaster fan like me you're definitely going to love it :D

4 Something Beautiful ★'s
“Wherever you are, I'm there with you. I don't want to be anywhere you're not.”
Again Jamie McGuire did not disappoint! This short novella was simply beautiful, endearing and very special. It was about how Shepley and America first met and how awestruck he was from the very first moment he saw her across the hall at freshman orientation. We get to see their first date and it was really freaking sweet. Something Beautiful definitely had some sad bits and it gives you so many feels. It will break your heart in certain spots and Shep and Mere have some issues to work through. They go through something really terrible and scary together and it helps put everything into perspective. I really enjoyed this! Though since the book was so short the action was a bit rushed :( Other than that, it was really something. I love the way McGuire writes and how with every word read brings the world and characters to life right before you. I have always loved Shepley and America and I am so happy to have had a chance to read their story. Plus we got to see a nice amount of ♥Abby and Travis♥ which is a total bonus!!! I love that couple so much! I have finally completed every book in this series and it was one hell of an amazing ride :) I recommend the Beautiful series to everyone! It's one of the best I have read.

3.5 "She's My Happily Ever After" Stars!

This is a short novella about how Shelpley Maddox & America met. We see how crazy Shep was over Mare from the first moment he laid eyes on her. We also get their first date & a good bit of Travis & Abby too since they are all best friends & living in Eakins, Illinois. Shep & Mare have some issues to work through & we get some drama with a tornado. That part went on a little too long for my liking. I like some angst thrown into my books, but I felt it took up too much of the book. Shep is still as sweet as can be & Mare is still lucky as hell to have him! :D Enjoyed the ending & wouldn't mind another novella involving these two couples more into the future.
-"I'm not sure I can handle you." "You won't know unless you try."
-I often wondered when being around Shepley or even thinking about him would stop making me feel so much, but the passing time had only made my feelings stronger.
-I wasn't just in love with her. It was like taking my first breath, then the second, and then every breath after that. America had come into my life, and then she was the reason for it.

I have to admit that I wasn't too sure about reading Shep and America's book and now after reading it, I'm still not sure.
But don't get me wrong, it's not because of Shep and America but rather the lack of them. And there were two big reasons...a tornado and someone who is a tornado, that's right, Travis.
Seriously, this should have been a book about Travis and Abby because that's what it felt like. That and a town being devastated by a tornado and getting to hear all the gruesome details. I mean, where in the hell was the romance?
Shep and America definitely got cheated although I do have to say that it did make me like Shep a whole lot better and to see him not just as Travis' sidekick.
So, if you're looking for a romance about Shep and America, this ain't it. BUT if you're looking for a story about Travis, his brothers AND Shep, then this is it. Just make sure you're caught up on all the books since there are some slight spoilers.

I m so happy we got more of these 2 I luvd them through the beautiful series an I just luv Shep he is so gorgeous an luvin an alway there 4 Trav an Mare an this book made me luv him so much more there was a lot goin on in this book an I didn't think it would work with it bein short but it was so good I really enjoyed it it was great getting more of Travis an Abby I still luv him so much he is 1 of my top book boyfriend an I have 2 say after getting a lil more of Shep he is up there 2
I think Jamie McGuire writing is so good an this story was really good I had a lump in my throat a few times but I just luvd how it ended but I do wish they got a full book but I am just happy 2 get a lil more of them I know some people r not mad about America/Mare but I really like her she is a great bff 2 Abby an never lets Trav away with anything an I do luv that Shep an Mare r totally different but they r so good 2gether at the same time

Something Beautiful es el cuarto libro de la serie Beautiful de Jamie Mcguire y trata sobre una pequeña parte de la historia de America y Shepley.
Tenia mucha curiosidad por este libro ya que en la historia de Abby y Travis no profundiza sus personajes, su historia o la cosas que sucede entre ellos en general. Y lo mejor es que esta narrado desde el punto de vista de los dos.
Este libro es algo mixto, siento que en algunas cosas sucedieron demasiado apresuradas y otras tardaron en suceder todo el libro.
Lo que me gusto de este libro es que trae cosas sobre el futuro, cosas que no se leyeron en Maravilloso desastre, como por ejemplo el capitulo final fue una escena muy linda. También tenemos cosas del pasado como por ejemplo como se conocieron, eso es algo que a mi me causaba mucha curiosidad.
Siento que America no tiene mucha evolución en toda la saga, ya que sigue con algunos dramas, pero al final se muestra algo más madura.
Tenemos muchas escenas entre el cuarteto, Abby, Travis, Shepley y America y todas tuvieron su chispa.
No se puede decir mucho sobre el libro ya que es muy corto, en general trata sobre si America y Shepley son el uno para el otro y su amor en el futuro. Una lectura corta, que se lee muy rápido (en cuestión de horas) y muy amena.

August 18, 2015This novella is a great little accessory to the Beautiful series. Even though America has never been one of my favorite characters, I was so excited to get more Shep. Readers will get to experience a bunch of Shepley and America firsts. Their first meet, their first date, their first.....bow chica wow wow. And wow! Not what I expected. This book also encompasses a very large span of time by flowing through some of your favorite scenes from other Beautiful books, but you also get to experience a whole new story unique to Shep and America. A very intense and dramatic story. It's a fast paced ride, so hang on. It must be said though, my absolute favorite thing about this book was the occurrence of more Travis and Abby. I held on tight to these special gems scattered throughout the novella, cherishing more time with the characters that started it all. If you are a fan of this series and are looking for more, you found more!

Let me first say that Beautiful Disaster is one of my absolute favorite books. But having said that, I expected much much more from this novella. America and Shepley deserved better than this. Travis and Abby already had their story but for some reason were way too present here. I was pretty much bored to tears and a hundred page novella took me FIVE days to read! I hope others find more enjoyement than I did.

Oh my God! This book was amazinggg! I’m so glad it was finally published in my country.
Around page 107 I felt the need to cry. So bad! Because all those feelings started to burn up inside of me. I missed reading such a great book.
Even tho it was a short one and sometimes the action seemed rushed, I will give this book 5 stars anytime. Because damn it, it was awesome! ❤️

An absolute #MUST for all Maddox fans.
And please read it as book 5.5 - no idea why it's called #3 - in my numbers it's book #5.5 ☺
Anyway - I LOVED IT!!!
We really had NO idea that nice and quiet and sweet Shepley Maddox was this amazing. He's such a great guy. He just always hid in Travis' shadows....but he's just as great as all his cousins.
I cried SOOOOOOO MUCH - for such a short novella - there were lots of tears ☺
Lots of funny, scary, romantic, sexy scenes. Just perfect!!!
There was one KISSING SCENE - OMG - phew!!! You'll love it!!!
Perfect little novella for all Maddox fans - we even get to hear some Travis & Abby stuff. ♥ GO AND BUY THE BOOK!!!

I never read the other books in this series. But i can tell i need tk hunt it down. Because after finished reading Something Beautiful, i can tell this author is super talented.
This book has a lot of moral story. It is a story about America and Shelby. They both madly in love with each other and now pondering what is the next level on their love story. Married, moving together?? This are the adventure they have to go through. Although it is a very short story, it is a beautiful story. Meaningful beautiful story. Especially for couples who pondering is their love strong enough to survive the storm.

This was soooo good! I wasn't really expecting anything much out of this, but dang, McGuire knocked it out of the park with this short novella! Don't over look this one if you're like me and wait 5-6 years to read high rated series.

Depois da cagada que a Jamie McGuire fez no livro do Taylor, ela caiu no meu conceito. E mesmo querendo ler todos os livros que envolvam essa família, fiquei com o pé atrás com medo dela estragar mais um. E GRAÇAS!!!! não foi o que aconteceu.
SÓ CONTINUE SE TIVER LIDO OS LIVROS ANTERIORES
Desde BELO DESASTRE eu já amava o Shepley e queria um livro com ele. SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL é um conto com mais ou menos 160 páginas, mas você tem que ter lido os outros livros pra entender o que ta acontecendo aqui. São 10 capítulos com ponto de vista intercalados e os 5 primeiros - acho - mostram anos diferentes, mas que a gente já conhece das outras histórias.
Logo no prólogo vemos um Shepley que acabou de chegar a faculdade e recebia um tour pelo ambiente por Travis, seu primo safadão. Shepley repara numa loira e já é fisgado. Já no primeiro encontro dele com a Mare vemos a fofuraaaaa que é esse menino! *Tô apaixonada*. Logo após já pula pro dia do acidente no prédio da faculdade e no capítulo seguinte para o casamento - DE NOVO - na praia do Travis e sua Beija-Flor. Entretanto mesmo com essas mudanças de ano não ficou estranho porque a gente já conhece o que aconteceu. E eu não senti falta de mais explicações.
No começo parece que teriamos um conto divertido, entretanto Dona Jaime faz a gente ficar tenso de repente e putz!!!!! Fiquei muito aflita, mesmo sabendo que a autora não seria doida de fazer besteira grande demais. Se fizesse tenho certeza que os fãs da série iam levar a Jamie para o Círculo e dar uns socos nela igual Travis dava... Bom, em todo mundo.
“Isso ta acontecendo?” Eu disse, sentindo meu coração bater bem forte contra meu peito.
Shepley apertou minha mão. “Olha pra mim, Mare. Vai acabar logo.”

Foi uma história muito boa. Ótimo ver Travis e Abby e conhecer mais a história desse casal. Até a América me ganhou. Adoro o jeito dela de expor sua opinião, não fingir que atura idiotas, de não ter medo de ser teimosa. Vi um pouco de mim nela. Acho que por isso gostei.
E o final? Aaah! Nem vou dizer que me deu vontade de chorar de felicidade. Terminei com um sorrisão no rosto. Amo tanto essa família que me emocionei com a felicidade deles, mesmo que sejam fictícios.
Recomendo demais!!!! Só não apaixona pelo Shepley, porque ele já é meu!!!!

“Então... Você vai aceitar minha oferta?” Travis provocou.
“Não” America disse sem hesitar.
Sim. Ela é perfeita.
“E o meu primo?” Travis perguntou, me empurrando tao forte que eu dei um passo pro lado.
“Qual é,” eu disse, quase implorando. "Ignora ele ,” eu disse para America. “A gente não deixa ele sair muito.”
“Posso ver o motivo. Ele é realmente seu primo?”
“Tento não contar isso para as pessoas, mas sim.” ( tradução livre)
Depois da cagada que a Jamie McGuire fez no livro do Taylor, ela caiu no meu conceito. E mesmo querendo ler todos os livros que envolvam essa família, fiquei com o pé atrás com medo dela estragar mais um. E GRAÇAS!!!! não foi o que aconteceu.
SÓ CONTINUE SE TIVER LIDO OS LIVROS ANTERIORES
Desde BELO DESASTRE eu já amava o Shepley e queria um livro com ele. SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL é um conto com mais ou menos 160 páginas, mas você tem que ter lido os outros livros pra entender o que ta acontecendo aqui. São 10 capítulos com ponto de vista intercalados e os 5 primeiros - acho - mostram anos diferentes, mas que a gente já conhece das outras histórias.
Logo no prólogo vemos um Shepley que acabou de chegar a faculdade e recebia um tour pelo ambiente por Travis, seu primo safadão. Shepley repara numa loira e já é fisgado. En los primeros días como estudiante del Eastern State University, América Mason conoce a un Maddox, Shepley Maddox. A diferencia de sus primos, Shepley es más amante que boxeador... Con el tiempo ambos se enamoran, pero un viaje a Wichita, Kansas podría significar el siguiente paso, o el final de todo.
Impresiones:
Lo reconozco, los libros de McGuire son mi debilidad!! Aunque me desilusionó bastante con Beautiful Redemption y me recomendaron darle un tiempo a esta autora antes de volver a leerla , pero no pude resistir, lo leí y me alegro de haberlo hecho aunque reconozco que la historia es muy simple. El conflicto es básicamente un problema de pareja, Mare y Shepley no lo quieren confrontar por miedo a que derive en una ruptura. Asimismo, sentí que no estuvo bien desarrollado porque el problema ya está ahí en el relato, uno no lo ve desde el inicio y me hubiera gustado leer más sobre eso. No voy a dar muchos detalles sobre cuál es la cuestión porque es una novela muy cortita.
Primero y principal, me gustó mucho que el libro este narrado desde las dos perspectivas, además, algo que realmente no me esperaba era que leer sobre la historia de ellos un año después del casamiento de Travis y Abby en St. Thomas. Si bien los primeros capítulos están dedicados a los "first" de ellos, como la primera vez que se conocen, la primer cita, el primer beso, la primera vez... después se centra más en el viaje a Wichita...
Amé que McGuire incluyera varias escenas donde aparecen Travis y Abby hasta el punto que me dieron ganas de leer más sobre ellos, y como sobrellevan al estar separados por los viajes de Travis...
El final y la última frase me parecieron muy lindas y tiernas que hasta lagrimé!!!! O.O Esto solo lo logra McGuire, no sé como...
Si bien es muy corto y me hubiera gustado leer sobre ciertos acontecimientos, es una lectura linda, tierna, intensa, con un poco de drama y la disfruté mucho!

A pesar de que amo Beautiful Disaster y Walking Disaster, ninguno consiguió 5 estrellas, existen ciertos detalles aquí o allá que me llevaron a ponerles esa calificación. Pero con Something Beautiful fue diferente, tal vez por lo corto, que no dio paso a errores o relleno, tal vez porque ya conocía de antemano la pareja y le tenía cariño, pero tiene un 5 de 5 bien merecido a mi parecer.
La novela nos cuenta desde los puntos de vista de los protagonistas, Shepley y America, los mejores amigos de Abby y Travis, su historia de amor, desde el momento que se conocieron, pasando por el primer aniversario de bodas de Abby y Travis, un viaje que hacen a casa de los padres de America, y así va transcurriendo el tiempo.
Pude conocer mejor el personaje de Shepley al leerlo en primera persona, cosa que agradezco mucho, creo que es de mis Maddox favoritos ahora. Sus sentimientos por Mare son realmente genuinos, y deja en claro que haría cualquier cosa por el bienestar de su chica, sea esperarla, sea sacrificarse por ella, este chico tiene prácticamente su nombre tatuado en el corazón.
America, por otro lado, no es tan increíblemente molesta como lo es en Beautiful Disaster, en esta historia podemos conocer su lado vulnerable, sus sentimientos por Shepley, sus miedos e inseguridades, su valentía. Es un personaje al que también agradezco poder haberlo leído en primera persona, porque pude conocer ese lado de ella que me hizo tomarle cariño.
Y sí, me hubiese encantado que fuese más largo y nos contara un poquito más de detalles sobre ese final, pero así está perfecto. A pesar de los dramas que Jamie adora escribir, ella nunca me decepciona con sus finales.

Non va bene McGuire. Proprio no. No. No. No.
Shepley e America si meritavano un libro intero e non 150 pag scarse!
Anche in poche pagine la McGuire è riuscita però a coinvolgermi completamente, è questo il bello!
Shep è un Maddox. Ma ancora una volta l’autrice diversifica le caratteristiche dei maschietti di questa ormai famosissima famiglia in modo molto convincente. Shep è il cugino di primo grado di Travis, sia per parte di madre che di padre, porta il suo stesso cognome ma è completamente diverso da lui. Non ha tatuaggi, ama divertirsi ma senza esagerare e, soprattutto, non ama le conquiste di una notte. Lui vuole l’Amore, vuole un futuro con moglie e bambini. La cosa che mi ha toccato il cuore è che Shep è timido e impacciato, ha paura di sbagliare, di essere rifiutato. Con America, esattamente il suo opposto, è però amore al primo sguardo. Per Shep non c’è scampo, Mare è forte, determinata, sicura del suo futuro (e anche una grande rompi balle, lasciatemelo dire…) e Shep ne è innamorato ogni giorno di più.
Ogni capitolo mostra al lettore una nuova fase del rapporto tra Shep ed America.
La paura di essere rifiutati, di non essere adatti, di essere amati solo per metà. Capitolo dopo capitolo, l’autrice ci mostra anche quanto questa coppia sia affiatata e innamorata.
Insomma, questa lettura mi ci voleva proprio! Ripeto, avrei preferito una narrazione lineare e corposa, invece che a balzi e stringata, ma mi accontento, perche la McGuire mi ha conquistato anche con poche pagine!

A short, sweet novella about Shepley and America.
We've already learned to love them in the previous books of the series and a part of me was worried it would turn out to be a mere retelling of the same events. Instead, what we have here is a beautiful love story from the very beginning to the very happy ending.
I especially appreciated the last bit, while the first half of the book frustrated me at times, even if the misunderstanding was utterly relatable. Anyway, the ending was amazing and it broke all McGuire's previous schemes. I loved it. Shepley's sweet personality pulled me in as much as his Maddox's side. Because yeah, what 'Beautiful' book would it be without a Maddox throwing a punch, right? America was another nice surprise. Her sassy attitude captivated me.
Their dynamics were so different from any other couple's in the series!
So far, I'm liking the novellas way more than the actual books.
Her sweet, happy sighs were like the first day of summer, like anything was possible, like it was my superpower.
Ohh, Shepley. So cute!!! And even heroic (wink,wink). You will understand why. It blew me off my socks. The only complaint is that after that heartwrenching last part, I would have wanted to read a little more about their reunion, before the fast forward.
Oh, also, there's planty of Abby/Travis moments here. They're so cute together, especially in the epilogue!
