She's forbidden. But that won't stop him from claiming her.
Plus-sized Katerina Headley is on a mission. She’s out to prove that real men do love curves. On a night out of fun, she attracts more than her share of trouble and the sexiest wolf this side of the universe.
Liam Greyson.
Heir to a billionaire fortune that just so happens to be a gorgeous wolf with a killer bod. But being with him will brand them both as outlaws. Bears and wolves don't mix. It's forbidden.
But that won’t stop Liam from helping himself to Kat’s curves. Or filling her belly with triplets.
They’ll face danger at every corner. Liam may need more than a killer set of abs and a tight ass to keep them all safe.
Though family duty demands a mating between their packs, when disillusioned wolf shifter Liam Greyson even thinks of his betrothed touching him he's filled with revulsion and loathing. As the alpha's son and only heir of one of the area's most lucrative businesses it's up to him to lead and teach. He'd prefer a fuller figured woman that sees things the way his pack does, not working opposite his leadership.
There's nothing like a new man to make the old one a memory and Katerina Headley's bolstering her ego before she sets out to prove the adage right. Her father and teen sister Mackenzie are supportive about Kat's hefty curves but notice her strength increase and her meat craving. She doesn't tell her father and says little to her sister about her new short temper, extra hair and odd dreams.
Kat's annoyed she's not having the usual fun at the club and is more than willing to dance with the first man that asks. She's even willing to go with him for 'fresh air' but when he's looking for more than air with her, Liam breaks from the swarm of women surrounding him to rescue Kat. Though Kat and Liam enjoy the night out, they're both disappointed when Liam tells her he's committed to another.
Kat's changes lead her to a new job working for Liam's family business. Though still attracted there doesn't seem to be a way to avoid the looming deadline for Liam to mate the rival alpha's repulsive daughter. Watching Kat whenever he can, Liam's convinced he knows her secret and reveals he's a wolf and could mate her. Kat's speechless. They're dumbfounded to discover Kat's actually a bear shifter.
Liam and Kat were likable enough but didn't have enough chemistry for this reader's taste. Also likeable was the secondary characters and their random threads with little impact vaguely associating them to Liam and Kat. Overall, this outing is much too busy to be the marshmallow read the title suggests and while not a bad read some trimming would not have been out of place. Rating: 3.5stars
wow I think this is the best written, and characteristic paranormal romance I've read in a long time. the author is what I call "A Matter of Fact" writer. Not in the literal version factually, but in the verbal way of writing. I can really get into the characters realism and there conversations. It's almost like I'm talking to my family and friends because the author isn't putting any extra adlibs on the way the characters speak. The sarcasm, foul language, and even the different paranormal groups wasn't overly cheesy and unrealistic. It's a damn shame so many died because one unstable wolf couldn't accept rejection. And in the end of Crystal's life she accomplished nothing. But it goes to show that spoiling your children, and not disciplining them and teaching them core values and respect they bite the hand that feeds them in the end. The Lilly's created a monster literally and figuratively that killed them in the end. That apple not falling to far from the tree cliche is bullcrap, because Zach was raised by the same parents but was a different person than his sibling. This story was just awesome all around from the writing to the character and the adventure and action!
It took me a little longer to read this book than normal because parts of it was a little slow and some was confusing, so I set it aside and then tried again. For example there was a chapter about a bar maid named Hazel that was cleaning and taking out trash that really had nothing to do with this story. This was the only time she was talked about so it would have been better in my opinion to just cut that chapter. There was also a lot of changing of POVs. We got the perspective of a couple characters for a few pages then it switched back to a main character. I liked the story, but I think it would have improved with an editor saying which parts could stay and which should go. I mean there is 650 pages of story so there is plenty of room to edit things out. If you don't mind slogging through some useless things, the book is an overall decent read.
Jessica Snow never ceases to keep me captivated! I loved this book!! The characters and the story, how everything tied together, it all came together well. I love the fact that Kat was a bigger girl and Liam didn't care one bit. I loved all of the characters, especially McKenzie. I want a sequel so bad! The mythology made this story even better. I don't know if I've ever been so satisfied to see a villain die.
The first part of this book, and yes it is done in parts seemed really really forced. The story was all over the place. And no matter how hard I tried I did not like her sister McKenzie. And in the first part mckenzies friends were so annoying. I don't know. This book just did not work for me. However, the bringing it all together in the end was pretty cool.
I had a hard time reading this book, the start was hard to get into. But I could see the potential so I kept at it. A lot of great things happened during the story but something was just a little off. This is a great story to tell I think it just took way to long to tell it, in the way it was told.
Wolves, bears and witches... and some other magical creatures!
Kay and Liam shouldn't work for all sorts of reasons, but they do! I couldn't put this book down. So many great characters and several different stories all leading to one huge ending! Great Read! Enjoy!!!
Furbidden Mate is a shifter story with forbidden crossings that are about to be encroached upon. Jessica Snow delivers a solid story with interesting characters and story line. I'm not one typically to read this type of paranormal romance stories, but I did enjoy.
Three books in one package. Two people attracked to one another go through trials and become mated even though they are different species. When a third race is involved all bets are off as families are threatened and a race is underway to save members.
I live this ragtag pack of shifters!!! Wolves, witches, bears, vampires and even humans all come together to conquer evil and form a truly one of a kind pack. Full of drama, action, laughter, tears and most of all love of all kinds....defiantly a good read :)
I don't usually read anything with vampires in it, but I actually enjoyed this book. It focused about equally on vampires, bears, werewolves and witches. And the part with the triplets was so cute.
DNF - I really tried with this one but I just couldn’t continue. I didn’t like the heroine. The writing was ridiculously cheesy at times. The heroine is plus size and it gets mentioned over and over again and not always in a good way. Just couldn’t do it, this book was so not for me.
Non stop action from start to finish. Great complex storyline that is full of surprizes, twists and turns. Great read and a wonderful author/storytelling.
This was action packed awesome. I didn't think they could go through much more than they could have. I loved how they took Victor down, he deserved it for making everyone's life a living Hell.
This was so long and boring. All the filler took up too much of the book and the action parts too few. It took me a long time to make myself finish the book. The part that really put me off was the victory celebrate between Kat and Liam.
Seemed to me it starts out slow but then oh my. This book is very exciting and full of adventure, drama, terror and lots of romance. Enjoy a really really good read
There is a lot going on in this story. What starts off as a simple desire to have some fun, turns into a very intense and dangerous situation.
I liked the characters. There are many different paranormal characters in the story and it definitely is full of surprises. I wasn't sure what to expect at times as it went in some unusual directions.
An unbelievably, intense, suspenseful, thrilling shifter romance adventure out of this world! Never have I read a story crammed so full of mystery, excitement, nail-biting action and shifter pack politics. It's all there: wolves, bears, vampires and witches. With a psycho wolf and a psychopathic vampire amid a gang of individuals with their own differing, interesting personalities and personal agendas on the loose, there is no end to the extraordinary action scenes. Most novels have a mystery leading up to one grand confrontational finale. But this story is like a roller coaster of breathlessness, as soon as one exciting conflict is executed, the reader is plunged into another and another. Twists and surprising turns occurred again and again. There was one instance where one character had a reaction to an event that had me laughing out loud, a rare occurrence for me. Thank you Ms. Snow for an outstanding Shifter Romance-Adventure. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Five Stars.
Thoroughly enjoyed every bit of this book , loved the humor , loved the variety of paranormals . 2 very different sister learn things about themselves they could never of imagine in their wildest dreams . An Alpha werewolf son is being forced into marriage against his will & tradition & his psycho ex fiancee is bent on causing havoc & mayhem .
Furbidden Mate is a a well though tout tale of Katerina Headley (the plus-sized heroine) and Liam Greyson (the extra sexy hero). The story is well though out and executed. Actually, it checks off so many of my must haves that it just made the book a pleasure to read. There are crazy homicidal exes, catty women, too much testosterone, thorough butt kicking, finding out what happens when a bear is crossed with a wolf and most important ... a happy ending. Now, there are some parts that really worked my nerves but the progression of the story overcomes all of that. In short, Ms. Snow produced a really good read.
Complex and interesting with a ton of paranormal interrelationships.
A forbidden love causes a war to erupt between groups of werewolves with vampires supporting the most depraved and evil of the three packs. A witch and a werebear both come of age as they fight on the side of the good packs.
The editing in this was atrocious. The use of wrong words was appalling. Whom ever the proof reader was did a lousy job. Yes I stuck with this until the end to see if it got better, but to my dismay, it did not. I can't in good consciousness recommend this book until it has a major edit.
