Although the product pages claims this book is aimed at ages 9-11, the book itself suggests this for ages 11+. I would personally say it is useful for the higher end of KS2 and also KS3 and it is a great guide to creative writing.
This book takes things a little beyond the usual techniques for writing an interesting story and looks at possibly publishing, promoting or performing work – whether you want to write a novel, fan fiction, scripts or videogames. The author states that, “Every writer is a reader,” and I think this is a useful starting place to help encourage literacy skills and also encouraging children to explore different types of writing.
The guide covers all sorts of useful information – from researching, plotting, characters, descriptions, scenes, dialogue and more. There are also useful pages on revising and editing and different types of writing. Along the way, there are lots of word lists, checklists, author advice, extracts from different books (there are ‘spoiler alerts’ in case you haven’t already read the book) and just tons of inspiration. I really think this is a wonderful guide, which takes writing seriously. This is not just about writing for exams, it aims to think beyond that and really inspire creative writing in different genres.

Абсолютно несподівано це виявилась книга про те, як писати роман. Не будь-що, як можна подумати з назви, а саме РОМАН - як будувати сюжет, хто такі антагоніст і протагоніст, у них має бути мотивація, а різні герої мусять говорити по-різному, щоб читач їх відрізняв. Такого плану поради і секрети.
Видання дуже гарне! Там є вправи для розвитку письменницької майстерності, але якщо ви не плануєте писати повноцінну книгу, то навряд ця книга буде корисною. Хіба що заради цитат відомих (і не дуже) авторів придбати 😅

Написахте ли си писмата до Дядо Коледа? А имате ли амбиции да напишете и нещо ПОВЕЧЕ? Je l'ai lu par curiosité, pensant tomber sur un énième livre avec des conseils plus ou moins ciblés et pas vraiment motivants. En réalité, j'ai adoré découvrir chacun des conseils qui y sont donnés. Même si c'est un livre destinés aux plus jeunes qui voudraient s'essayer à l'écriture, je pense qu'il est adapté à tout le monde et qu'il est réellement de bon conseil.
En tout cas, en lisant ce livre, j'ai retrouvé la motivation d'écrire et j'ai plein de méthodes en poche pour m'améliorer et prendre du plaisir en appliquant tous ces conseils !

Це був подарунок на Новий рік, якому я дуже тішуся :)
Загалом книжечка гарна. Мені сподобалась і ідея оформлення, і як тут все викладено.
Це така собі інструкція для всіх хто шукає загального вступу в те, як розписатись, чи почати писати. І думаю читачі тут знайдуть відповіді на питання "чи можу я писати?", "що я можу писати?", "який твій хороший?", "що зробило інших успішними?", "як чути читача?". Тут про все потрошки. Як коротка енциклопедія тварин, - все про всіх, але тільки основні думки і факти. Тому перечитувати цю книжку треба часто, з настроєм не прокрастинувати, а братись щось робити, і читати уривками, коли з чимось застрягаєш.
Може працювати як мала настільна книжечка, яка може допомогти вийти з скрутної ситуації і підкинути думок.

Дуже стисло, але грамотно і з гумором написано про теорію письма. Особливо книга сподобається початківцям, але разом з тим, гарний спосіб нагадати собі теорію, яка інколи забувається за практикою.

February 16, 2021Difficile (voire impossible) pour moi de noter ce genre de livres. Puisque chaque auteur·ice écrit à sa façon et apprend de son expérience, il est évident que certaines pages m'ont fait sourire et d'autres grincer des dents. Et probablement que pour d'autres personnes, cela aurait été l'inverse.
Je pense que pour commencer, c'est tout de même un bon moyen de parler écriture sans trop brusquer. Certains sujets comme l'édition par exemple, reste en surface, on dirait qu'on ne veut pas trop faire peur aux petit·es jeunes.
C'est assez complet, et en dehors de certains passages qui m'ont fait faire la grimace, ça reste un ouvrage que j'aurais aimé avoir entre les mains quand j'ai commencé l'écriture.

J'écris depuis toute petite et depuis environ cinq ans, j'écris mon propre roman. Quand je suis tombée sur ce livre dans mon fil d'actualités twitter, tout à fait par hasard, il me le fallait ! Ce livre est fait pour les auteur-ice-s. Il aide à écrire des scénarios de films/séries, de radios, théâtre, fan-fiction et bien d'autres. L'auteur nous donne des astuces pour construire parfaitement des personnes et non pas des plantes vertes. Il donne aussi quelques exemples de mots comme ceux à employer pour les scènes d'actions ou d'aventures. Et ce que j'ai particulièrement apprécié, ce sont les deux checks-list : "Premier Jet" et "Réécriture". En bref, un livre que je trouve très pratique pour les petits auteur-ice-s comme les grands ! À lire et à relire.

Книжката би била доста полезна за начинаещи в писането. За по-опитните едва ли ще представлява интерес - ако са издали една-две-пет-десет книги, би следвало нещата, написани вътре, вече да ги знаят.
Лично на мен ми беше инт��ресна, макар да нямаше нещо ново, което да науча, изключае писането на сценарии, пиеса и т.н., към които (за момента) нямам амбиции, но ми бяха любопитни. :)

I read this not as a young person, but as an aspiring writer. It gave fantastic suggestions on jumping into the world of writing and publishing. I would say it tries to play a little too much into a young culture that will ultimately change over time, but the addition of using YA and popular novels as well as quotes from authors as examples helps bring a lot of the suggestions home.

It's a very useful guide for people like me who has a dream of becoming a writer.It;s got handy tips but my favourite parts of the book is the quotes.They always have the books that author has written-so,I pick the interesting titles and they are my next read!
