This series continues to amaze and blow me away, its always fresh and an outpouring of the Holy Spirit breathed onto the pages.
Pastor Jared is the single pastor of Grace Christian Tabernacle Church and he is in love with a single mom named Samantha. Samantha's son is Carl who was involved in a drive by and the brutal attack on Symphony. The gossiping and embittered church is being led by the ex-wife of Pastor Jared and her name is Bernadette. Bernadette had remarried very quickly, to the man she had an affair with. Pastor Jared wasn't always a pastor, he was a man who married young to a woman he fancied himself in love with but soon things took a different turn once the children came into the picture. Because Bernadette didn't work (she didn't want to), Pastor Jared worked 3 and 4 jobs to maintain a lifestyle that was way above their means, thus putting a major strain on their marriage and once other things came into play, the marriage collapsed and they divorced. But Praise God He is a Restorer and a Redeemer of All things, once the Lord led Jared who was beyond broken to Grace Christian Tabernacle, he gave his life to the Lord when Pastor Floyd Walker was the leader at the time. There Jared grew and flourished under the Hand of God which eventually led him to take over the church.
Father Tommy had been a Catholic priest for a long time, he didn't want to become one, he wanted to be a gangster and his best friend Sal wanted to become a priest. But Sal grew up in a gangster family with his dad being the head which meant that Sal was being groomed to take over once his dad stepped down. As with anything, it doesn't always go according to plan, so Tommy became the priest and Sal his confidant. Father Tommy fell in love with a woman named Gloria, but he believed it was wrong because he was already ensconced in the priesthood. Father Tommy's chance meeting at a conference with Pastor Thomas Maulsby changed everything for him. Pastor Maulsby challenged and taught Father Tommy what God is really saying and not what man created along the way. Father Tommy came out of the priesthood and married Gloria.
Pastor Jared and Father Tommy are going to learn what it truly means to forsake what everyone else thinks or feels, for God. They will each find themselves in the crosshairs of those who proclaimed to be their friends but really aren't, they will see how people who walk around quoting the bible front to back are really a bunch of hypocrites, sheep in wolves clothing. They will learn that not everyone will be happy to see them happy but will want to stuff them into their version of how a Pastor is supposed to behave. They will encounter the religious Pharisee and Sadducee spirit of the people. They will see how God exposes the true heart of people, friendships will be broken and lost, it becomes a pruning that God does in each of our lives when He is about to move us in a direction of growth and we can't take certain family or friends with us. This is what I perceived after reading this story.
We get to the Archangel Michael also some of the Ultimate Watchers, Watchers, their Spirit mates, and their children. New names were mentioned (at least for me LOLL!!)
Another top notch book from author EJ Brock who brings the Word of God, Love, Laughter, Triumph, Heartache/Heartbreak, Soul Stirring, Foot Stomping Goodness with each story she releases. I am so glad I was introduced to her work because I am a huge fan of hers.

How did I miss it????
I feel like such a horrible fan and avid reader for missing the last two releases. I love Jared's story. Samantha was the perfect woman for him. Daphne had me laughing out loud seriously. Enjoyed this read just as the others. On to the next one.

What an amazing book! From beginning to end, there is so much realism and inspired biblical principle and teaching. Many have faced Pastor Jared's and Samantha's experiences; and if not a personal experience, then we personally know someone who has. My heart was touched throughout the book, but nothing like the very end, the epilogue. Oh my goodness; what a powerful finish! Kudos to author E. J. Brock for another incredible and powerful book in the Spirit Mate series. Eagerly anticipating your next installment.

Love is enough
These two Pastors have faced hard times in the pasted and the present. The congregation of Grace seems to have forgotten the scripture that says ‘touch not me anointed and do my prophet no harm’. They are a perfect example of the breakdown in the church today. But God’s love covers a multitude of sin. Meaning for me, God’s love towards these Pastors superseded every stone those people tried to throw their way. But people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.
From beginning to end this book held my attention and drew me in. I found myself fighting sleep, I would nod off several times and change positions just to keep reading. I also wanted to find out what woman was ‘bad’ enough to make Father Tommy drop the ‘Father’ from his name. Jared is certainly a man of the cloth and has the patience of Job, but when backed into a corner he will come out fighing. I pity the personn that wants to contend with that man of God. It was also good catching up with Brock and all the members of the estate.
I believe this book is a perfect example of what happens When Love Is Ordained!

THIS AUTHOR RIGHT HERE?!!
this author right here?!! it is soooooi much i can say about ms. eva j. brock. when i say i feel like i have been to bible study everytime i read her books...its not a joke. i have learned sooo much from her both through written word and verbal. each book in both series is better than the one before and i was hooked from book one. i swear to you, both series are biblical life application for me....like one of my favs Tekel!!! that book showed me the meaning of 'blessed are the merciful for they shall receive mercy!!!

Touched
I've read this twice in the last 6 months and it was just as powerful the second time around. God really is doing something. To know that no matter your walk in life God can still use you, whew. All we need to do is trust Him, believe in Him, repent and share the GOOD NEWS. He'll take care of the rest.

Awesome
This was an amazing story I came across in my library. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline and characters in this Eva J Brock novel. Pastor Jared , Pastor Floyd rocked this book along with the former mobster Salvatore. Worth 5 and some change.

This review will be a little different than what I usually write. If you have read any of the other books in this series you already know they are delightful. Each of the books are as much of a learning experience as it is an enjoyable one. So here are some of my take aways;
Pastor Jared, even though he locked away his feelings and took the blame for his failed marriage, in the end when he was forced to deal with them, out of anger, it could have ended him. It is healthy to get closure to relationships/situations before you can move forward. My favorite in all this is even though he felt he didn’t handle a situation, as a pastor should have, God still found favor and elevated him.
Father Tommy, when chosen to spread the gospel, his free will lead him to take the fork in the road labeled Priesthood. He did what was expected. As questions begins to rise and answers were sought out, God sent His spirit/someone to confirm his answers and the plans He had for him. He was also elevated.
Carl, Daphane and Myron, spite of who and what they were, He saw fit to use them.
Grace Tabernacle’s body of members saw first hand how God deals with defiling His house.
Pastor Maulsby teaches us that to be Christian means to be a follower of Christ and not get so
caught up on dominations.
One of my favorite quotes throughout this series is “God is always doing something”.

This was another Awesome Read by E.J. Brock and I just Love this Author's story telling. As if God himself is whispering in her ears as she is typing her story into her computer! Ms. Eva has done it again she has such a blessed pen game. This book was amazing you will never be disappointed with any of her books. Each book has a different message and it's broken down so anyone can understand and receive it. I'm impatiently waiting for the next book in the series.
