True, soul-deep love, almost impossible to find, but Emily and Bash found it on a dark night in the midst of a horrific crash when Bash became Emily’s savior, her healer and the one man she couldn’t have. Emily wasn’t even free and Bash wasn’t even human. Where does that leave them, but directly in the crosshairs of darkness? Nikki Landis’ FALLEN FROM GRACE is a tale of love, sacrifice, betrayal and a taste of a forbidden fruit that will bond two souls for eternity.

The moment Bash betrayed his dark, Angelic vows by falling for this beautiful young woman, was the moment Emily’s pure, light soul became a beacon for soul-hungry evil that will stop at nothing to win its dark, eternal game. Only a pact between enemies of the heart has any hope of saving Emily from eternal death.

I knew after just a few pages that I was going to be glued to every word as Ms. Landis’ world unfolds into a tangled web of a love that cannot be, where the definition of winning would be changed through the unselfish acts of those who would protect Emily. Told in alternating voices, we experience Emily’s confusion, her inner conflict between a love she has known and a love she can never be without. Witness the pain of forbidden love through the eyes and heart of Bash, a man completely lost in his love for Emily, a man who hides who and what he really is for as much time as possible to be with Emily.

What would you do for the one you loved, what would you be willing to sacrifice to save their soul, their human life? Their eternal life? Could you walk away? Would you make a deal with the devil for just one more minute…one more kiss? In a world where love and unselfishness can be a rare commodity, how can it be wrong to love?

Nikki Landis made me believe in her words, her characters and the story she tells. She blurred the lines of reality and the words she has crafted into a reality of her making. So very well-written, filled with tension, romance and of course, the eternal struggle between good and evil.

I received an ARC edition from Nikki Landis in exchange for my honest review.

For all those paranormal romance readers, who also have a dark side.... this is the story for you. A well written, complex story with well-developed characters. This book took me by surprise as the descriptions of the parts with 'evil' blew me away.... and I wanted to keep reading.

The author has a talent writing in 1st Point of view... which I'm not used to but it was so well done, the characters truly come to life in your mind. A great twist at the end and has me intrigued to read the next one to have all the open questions answered.

An epic story of good vs evil with love all around!!! Highly recommended if you enjoy a good love story.

WHERE THE HECK DO I START??? It has taken me a few days to be able to even write this review. I'm on a MAJOR BOOK HANGOVER!! Nikki Landis...you are a FREAKING GENIUS!!
Landis' writing is so smooth, it just flowed right off the page, it was like I wasn’t even reading... I was there. Fallen from Grace drew me in from the very first page. It has it ALL and I could not put it down.
The chapters that alternated between Emily and Bash were well written, perfectly timed and addictive. I loved being able to glimpse into each of their heads and really understand what they were thinking and how they were effected by each other. I think that is why I could understand the hesitation regarding Jarrod because I got to see how she struggled with not wanting to lose him.
Emily's character was even more complex than I think the novel even revealed. She seemed so real, it felt like I knew her, or someone like her. I don't want to ruin experiencing this book for other readers by saying too much. So I’ll stop there, and leave you with the recommendation to make this one a MUST read!!! I am unable to express just how much I think YOU should read this book. Just do it and then email me to thank me.

The book "Fallen from Grace (Fight for Light Crossover Novel # 1)" by Nikki Landis is a very solid love story but among mortals and angels. I must admit that the writer described very well all the supernatural beings describing angels and demons with such care that I could create all these characters in my head. My only substitute is that sometimes the story slows down a little bit because of the overwhelming love scenes between the main characters and the fact that the side characters are put in a bit of a plan. The story begins with a car crash in which Emily had to die, but Angel Bash rescues a safe death. Emily after she woke up in the hospital knew she had something supernatural. Her feelings are totally confused; the love of her fiancé Jarrod has become strange because in her mind she feels that this is not her true love. What Emily feels subconscious comes to her in dreams because she falls in love with angel Bash who saved her. But even angel Bash has not remained indifferent, but that love will be a great temptation for the forces of evil that for all costs want Emily's soul. The book is fun and certainly will appeal to all fans of fantasy who love angels, the forces of evil and even with that love story. This is just the beginning of a story that will surely expand in the following sequels.

After Emily is saved from death in a car accident, she begins to dream of the man who saved her -no, not a man, an angel. Basasael (Bash) is a celestial being who is sworn to protect the innocent, but what can he do when he falls for one, especially if it is forbidden? And with Death chasing her, can he save her in time?

Nikki Landis's ability to tell a story that alternates between the real world and the dream world, without becoming confusing, is superb! The writing style actually changes with the setting change, and it truly adds to the story because it creates a literary divide in the two realms so your brain registers the setting change fluidly. This is the sign of a great writer!

The author sweeps you into a world of other realms, good and evil, love and hate. She tells the story of a blossoming love while also acknowledging the collateral damage done to those we care for along the way. In that manner it has the feel of a coming of age fantasy, mixed with romance, and spiritual feels that leave you wanting more!

A nice, refreshing, and quick read about a woman who finds herself in a dilemma over her fiancé and a mysterious, dark angel, who saved her from a deadly accident. This sets off a fight for her life and soul, and like in all good stories that deal with the themes of good versus evil, love is the key. I like how the author uses the metaphysical factor in her own way. I usually prefer a more spiritual approach to the metaphysical genre, but I somehow feel that it was written from the heart, and that’s why I gave it a chance, and read until the end. Overall, I’m happy that I did, and recommend it to readers who enjoy contemporary fantasy romance novels with a dark edge.

Fallen from Grace was an interesting and atmospheric read. I really liked the way the Dante-esque hell imagery was juxtaposed with Emily's day-to-day life as a modern twenty-year-old. This is a passionate romance with an interesting love triangle- the resolution of which I absolutely did not see coming!

I found the changes from first to third person a little disorienting, but if you can get past this it's a memorable read for fans of the paranormal romance genre.

Paranormal and dark fantasy romance readers will love Emily and Bash! The dark angel finds the light he seems to be missing from a human. Emily is everything he's looking for, but how do they find a way to be together? Are they going to have to make the ultimate sacrifice? This was a great read with some amazing characters, and I loved that they were like night and day. Looking forward to more!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Fallen from Grace is the first novel I've read by Nikki Landis. I LOVED it! A dark, suspenseful paranormal love story brilliantly told, I devoured the book. It reads like a piece of music - exciting, thrilling, intense - a roller coaster of emotions while at the same time, you don't realize that you're reading - only the best writing does that.

I particularly enjoyed the development of Emily and Bash's relationship. The twists in the story held me on the edge of my seat throughout, and the ending makes me want to read what happens next immediately.

A triumph and a novel I cannot recommend highly enough!

I don't often give 5 star reviews, but this author deserves it. Landis’ words disappear on the page as she draws the reader into this dark, paranormal tale. No spoilers here. If you love a passionate paranormal romance, this is for you. The characters were well drawn and motivated and the worldbuilding mesmerizing, reminiscent of Nalini Singh. Good to know this is part of an entire world I can venture into again. Looking forward to Jarrod’s story!

I really enjoyed this book. Quick reads are the best for me, and this did not disappoint. It's about a woman who's not sure what to do with her fiancé and a dark angel, who had saved her from an accident. She fights for her soul. Dark vs light.

I read a lot of paranormal romance. I love the genre, adore the tropes, well, most of them. Since I read several books a week, it’s rare something comes along and surprises me. This book surprised me in all the right ways.

For starters, I’ve not read many with an angel as the hero. I know they are out there, but I think they get lost in all the vamps and shifters. At any rate, it was a welcome change, adding a different spin to the forbidden love theme that I adore.

The pace was perfect from the start to finish, griping and not letting go. Intertwined with the romantic thread were dark action sequences that made it exciting and brought home the real weight of what was happening. I seriously read every free moment from the second I started until the last word. And what an ending it was. One that leaves you breathless and longing for the next part.

The heroine had a beautiful soul and was so easy to connect to. I felt real pain for the decisions she had to make, as well as the losses she suffered. I loved that she was real, unsure, and didn’t have all the answers right away. She was genuine.

That emotional connection was also in play for Bash, the intriguing hero I mentioned, who was so pure in his love for Emily. Everything about him was swoon worthy from the way he spoke to her, to the gestures of his affection. No matter which of his forms I held in my mind’s eye, he was my kind of sexy.

There was a third person caught in this web of love and consequences who tugged at my heart strings. Jarrod. I don’t want to give anything away, but there were points where I felt my throat clench at the sadness he endured. Intended or not, Jarrod wrapped around my heart and is still there.

The writing of this trio was handled with such powerful emotion. It was a beautiful, raw, and heartbreaking read. I’m glad there will be more, I must read more.

This was my first reading of Nikki Landis and I will be reading more, everything I can find from her.

Not my usual genre but I couldn’t put this book down. Nikki Landis has a fabulous way of making the supernatural realm appear real and connected with our own world and this fast paced story really had me hooked.

Emily is saved by Bash, a gorgeous Dark Angel, when she is involved in a car accident in which she was supposed to die. Although strictly forbidden, Bash falls in love with Emily and visits her in her dreams where they embark upon a love affair. However, during the daytime, Emily cannot remember any of their liaisons and is unaware that Bash even exists, continuing her engagement to Jarrod. Frustrated and jealous, Bash takes on a human form and appears in Emily’s daytime life so that she can fall in love with him properly, which she does. Things get complicated between the three of them, especially when the evil side of the spiritual realm are constantly trying to kill Emily as she is ‘marked’ for death. An intense battle between good and evil ensues and the story ends with a couple of unexpected twists

This is an intense book that grabs the reader from the first page and takes them on an incredible journey which connects fantasy with reality in a way that makes it believable. If you enjoy a high speed emotional roller coaster, this book is for you.

This is a really enjoyable book for fans of paranormal romance. Action packed, with likeable characters. Emily was easy to identify with and I love a strong heroine. As for Bash... I dare you not to fall in love with him! Also it was cool to have a badass angel as a hero, since you get so many vampire, werewolves and other paranormal creatures. The writing style is a little addicting and it's easy to get into the characters heads with the first person POV and I liked that it wasn't just Emily's POV that we saw.

The only problem I had was that I'm not a huge fan of love triangles and I felt really sorry for Jeremy on occasions. Also, I dislike insta-love, so at the beginning I wasn't sure I'd like this book for those two reasons, but as they got to know each other it didn't matter so much. However, I ended up really enjoying it. :-)

I hate to say it but I don't think I have ever been so happy about a book I found on kindle scout before! Where has this author been all of my life. I loved this story. First I have to admit I am a big fan of Angels so when I see a story about them fallen I am a bit leery because I don't like how they are portrayed. This writer did this so skillfully that I was hooked and couldn't put it down.

The story of Bash and Emily is a love story but it is also a spiritual story. This author makes you question everything and then clearly lays it out for you to devour. This book just threw me for a loop because it was so much more than I expected and totally completely thoroughly satisfying in all aspects. This is the epitome of what a 5 star read is all about. I have to read more of this author and this series.

Fallen from Grace captivates readers with a poetically written tale of good and evil. Emily can’t be content with Jarrod’s genuine love, because she’s destined to love another. Her forbidden relationship with an angel ensnares her in a timeless battle between The Lord and Lucifer. A perfect balance of violence and passion drives the plot forward - taking the reader into a world that teases out a few personal questions about faith, death, and sacrificial love.
Nikki respects the reader; her descriptive style is immersive and thoughtfully chosen. She leaves enough to our imagination, welcoming us into the world she creates. I appreciate the care she gives to timeless biblical themes. After finishing Fallen from Grace I was happy to discover her list of books to enjoy in the future.

Love and sacrifice

This story is one of the best Dark Fantasy stories I have read in a long time. This story is a great read of love between an angel and human destined to be together and will do whatever is needed in order to make sure nothing tears them apart.
Emily is saved by a man she has never seen before. She had been marked by death and by saving her the man as put not only himself but Emily in danger.
The scenes are well described and plenty of dark edge scenes I.e limbs being cut of touture .
With good verses evil and a beautiful written romance I would recommend this dark paranormal romance between Emily and Bash.

Fallen from Grace: A Fight for Light Crossover -- “The five realms consisted of Heaven, Hell, the Garden, the human world, and the valley of the descendants. Linked by a portal, connecting the human world and the valley, only descendants and Angels had the freedom to cross over its barrier unscathed…”
Bash lives between worlds – the supernatural and the human. In the human realm he caught a fleeting glimpse of Emily, and from there, everything went sideways.
I didn’t expect to like this book b/c Paranormal is hard to do. There’s little new under the stars, but Nikki Landis accomplishes something entirely new with this one. I won’t give the ending away because you should read this!
(On top of the general creative high marks, I should also note the prose is well-written, the plot engaging, the dialogue believable.) Well-done! 5-Stars!

An Epic Battle for Goodness

Fallen From Grace is the first book I’ve read by Nikki Landis and I had no idea what to expect; all I can say is wow! I always go into every new book without reading any reviews or even the summary so I can let the story tell itself without any preconceived notions on my part. I loved this story; it was narrated in a very personable manner, letting the reader into the innermost workings of the characters’ minds and hearts. Written in a realistic manner, even with the supernatural aspects, it all felt believable. I was thankful that the scenes of tragedy were not overly done, but gave enough to let your imagination fill in the rest. The end of the book left me with enough intrigue to make me wait in anticipation for the next book in the series. Great job!

Simply amazing!

The story had me holding my breath right from the start.
This is a story that will capture you, holding you hostage, with every turn of the page. My mind is still reeling! A love triangle that pulls you in so many directions, you don't know who's side to be on. All you know is that love is the answer. This is the first time I have read this author but will definitely not be my last.

I’m always a sucker for an epic good versus evil tale, especially if it’s done well, and this one is. It did take me a while to get over ‘Bash’ as a name and not an angry action, but eventually I did. The action and romance twisted together into a cohesive story that has you gripping your seat for the next turn. The philosophy and metaphysical underlying ideas are intriguing.

I've read the first Fight for Light novel and was interested to read the crossover novel. This one did disappoint, though maybe I should have read a little further into the original Fight for Light series before I picked this one up because I was spoiled a little for later books in the original series just a little.

This book follows the original premise of the series. Angels, demons, and those finding out they have certain destinies. There's an intense love story here that you can fall so far for love then either be redeemed or not be able to come back from it. Or maybe you can in later books. I'm dying to know what became of a certain character which I will not name because I'm not going to spoil the book.

I really need to pick up the rest of this entire series

What would you do for love? Would you defy Heaven? Would you go against the very order that all of your existence you have followed? Would you allow it to bring light to a situation that you find yourself in so that you could choose to take a different path? What if that choice brought danger to you and the one you claim to love? Would you still take that risk?
Fallen From Grace by Nikki Landis is a paranormal romance novel that tells the story of Emily and Bash. Emily is just an average girl. She’s engaged to a man that she believes she loves until a fateful accident. The accident changes everything in Emily’s life. Bash is an angel of Heaven, but he believes that Emily is his soulmate, but she is in great danger. She has been marked by the Darkness and it will stop at nothing until it has what it wants…her death. The story flickers between Emily, Bash and the monster that hunts her. The author marks each transition so that the reader knows who the story is focusing on in that moment. The story is told in the first person. The story also flickers between waking and sleeping. While awake Emily believes that Bash is a handsome young man who helped rescue her from a bad accident. In her dream state she knows him for what he is…a beautiful angel who professes his love for her.
This story is well written and engaging from start to finish. I like the transitions between the characters and the little surprises the author writes into the story. The author does a good job keeping the reader engaged. I especially like that the author doesn’t just focus on the romantic story between Bash and Emily but gives us more than a glimpse at the darkness that hunts her and seeks her life.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I found the storyline fascinating and I couldn’t get enough of it.

Fallen from Grace is a story about Bash and Emily. The book starts out with Emily coming to after a car wreck. She died and was saved by a dark angel that stole her heart completely in the very limited process. Jarrod, her fiancée is trying to console her that she is safe, and sound and the accident is over, but she feels like she cheated on him, when nothing really happened but that the angle with the ebony wings saved her. The next day Jarrod took Emily home and she felt silly and unwanted, so she took in the attention that Jarrod was paying her and tried to start feeling normal, as in how she felt before the accident. Emily then has a dream and finds out that Bash did still want to be with her but had to let her go back. While they are talking though, Emily feels a burning on her arm and Bash tells her he has to let her go that he has put her in danger. Then we find out how she is in danger, but I will leave that to you to find out.

This story is great. The characters develop fast and draw the reader right in. The way things start it just grabs the reader and keeps you wanting to read more and not put it down. This is a great change from the normal paranormal romance. If you love paranormal romance, then you should try this story. If you are a fan of angel romances, then I would say this is a must read for you.

I’m giving this book 5 hearts

Fallen from Grace was the first book I've read by this author, so I had no expectations going in. Plus, I hadn't read a paranormal romance in quite sometime. Angels and Demons? Good vs. Evil? That's a lot to wrap your head around when you've had nothing but contemporary/ romantic suspense on the brain. Well let me tell you, after I'd read the first few chapters, I was hooked! Landis has such a brilliant writing voice that I was thrilled I took a chance on a new to me author.

As the book opens, Emily's involved in a tragic car accident. What should have been a fatal crash turns out to be nothing but a fender-bender. Emily's 'light' is what caught Bash's attention as he witnessed the terrible event. Instantly, he knew she was the one! Bash healed and saved Emily that dark and fateful night but he also knew the consequences could damn him for all eternity. . .

'All that remained was the Angel and his star. Two bright pulsating fires of love and light that clung to each other in a world at constant war with the Darkness.'

Fallen from Grace is a beautiful love story about following your heart. Ask yourself this question? What would YOU sacrifice for love? Five breathtaking stars!
