Salem logs on to her favorite app. Her and Kyle are a match. The night starts out fun, with both of them eager to take things further. The next morning, however, Salem wakes with no recollection of the evening.
Rayne lives in the Arizona desert, free to leave her house whenever she wants, she chooses not to risk death by sweltering sun demons. Instead, she stays safely indoors with a computer and all the words she knows, slapping them together in any which way she chooses in the moment. Often gory, sometimes erotic. She loves the limitless boundaries of writing, and tends to push them toward extreme.

3.5 stars. Very sexy stuff in here. Well, not so much in the latter part of the story, but the beginning was quite steamy and well-written. This was a great premise, and the characters were on point, too. I never had the privilege of doing online dating, but I imagine this is one of those situations that most women would fear to happen. Now, I understand that it was written as a short story, but it really lacked any depth to the characters. Salem, specifically, needed much more to her development throughout. The author tossed some random spots about where she worked and all that, but there needed to be more to her character to bring everything together. The story also came to a bit of an abrupt halt, feeling quite underwhelming at the end, which took all the lead up and sort of let it fall flat. Lots of good ideas here but needed some additional content editing.
Well this was a very different book. It was quite risqué and if I’m honest pretty hot. What a naughty book in a good way, or at least it starts out in a good way.
This was a really original story, I was hooked from the very first page. It is an odd mix being partly sinister and part porn too, not one for the prudish.
Another great short story from Rayne, with a cool twist at the end. I always worry that we are running out of time for anything to happen in Raynes books as they are usually quite short, but she always pulls it out the bag at the last minute! Love her style! 🖤
Another depraved gem by the very talented Rayne Havok
A quick little snack for fans of horror and erotica. More than a little hot but I know some will disagree. If you are looking for a Cinderella story, man oh man did you take a wrong turn. No Cinderella here. :)
This is the first book I have read by Rayne; I can say, I can't wait to read her other books as well. Well what an unexpected ending for this deliciously dark book. Kyle and Salem meet through an app and they like what they see. How can you trust someone that you meet online ? I loved the twist but adhere to the warnings of this short, steamy book.
Love. Love this book!! For a quick, short novella, this was a really fun intriguing twisted story! Dual POV. But I won't divulge any details. Because it will totally give it away! That frickin' ending, dang you totally surprised me, Rayne Havok! Well done! Loved the ending, that is one of our kinks! Wink!.
My Favorite Quote: "What can I say, if I like something, I put it in my mouth.”
*This book won't be for everyone - more for the open-minded.*
This is a short, sharp and deliberately shocking story of a sexual encounter that asks questions and pushes the boundaries of social 'acceptability' in terms of love, lust and pleasure in our modern and technologically advanced world of today. A neat and clever twist at the end which will certainly make you sit up and think. Rating: 3.6 stars.
This was a difficult read for me. I was disgusted and wouldn't have finished if the story hadn't been so short. But I'm bumping my rating up a star for the last paragraph alone.
Ok, I don't like a lot of sex in books, I prefer gory, weird or ironic horror. If it wasn't a short book I wouldn't have kept reading. I was disgusted through most of the book and the ending was worth the read! I could easily see this possible with how society is changing, and not all for the better.
I can't go into detail about this book. Its best to go in blind. This isn't has dark as her others, but it is still creepy as can be. I highly recommend this author and this book.
Salem uses her favorite app to look for a good time, and after finding the perfect man she goes out, only to wake up the next morning not remembering a thing.
That ending had my jaw drop to the floor! The twist was crazier than anything I have read in a while. Do yourself a favor, get this book, enjoy the smuttiness, then prepare yourself for a huge wtf moment!
This was my second book by Rayne Havok, I really enjoyed this short story, its dark and dirty, just what I love in a book. I would re read this and I will be working my way through all of Rayne's books now.
"App" from Rayne Havok keeps the punches coming with this Black Mirror-esque gem. An absolute thrill ride with enough of a twist to give you whiplash. Spot on!
I really had no idea where this was headed, but I knew regardless Rayne was going to seriously mess with my mind. This book was not a disappointment and I look forward to the next twisty tale.
Well I enjoyed this short book..one can finish this book in less than 10-15 minutes that’s how short this book is …
So ,girl met the boy online (dating app) and they met ..boy drugged the girl nd had his way with her while she was unconscious and had no clue what was going with her ..and recorded everything..nd sent the recording to her few days later 😂 how sweet of him …
My heart begins to beat normal again; it’s quite a weird experience watching yourself go through things you have no recollection of. That was seriously the hottest thing I’ve ever seen, I think about logging on to message Kyle right now, for a repeat performance, but that is frowned upon, this is supposed to be for one- time experiences. But even still, I hit the icon and open up the Date Rape™ app, looking for him. They really do have an app for everything.
Oh man... this is my second book from this author and I swear both books have just made me laugh out loud for some reason. It’s like an “ah-ha!” moment or something. I like it.
To sum up the whole book: They really do make an app for everything 😆😆
A harmless, naughty one considering the authors other stories. I would have preferred the male POV all the time but that's just my preference. The twist wasn't really a twist because you could tell she wasn't shocked or traumatized...This author should def write more erotica. Hot.
