Stanley Cursiter: A Life of the Artist

Rate this book
The book pulls together the disparate threads of Stanley Cursiter's life and career as an artist and public figure of national importance. Described as a 'renaissance man' and a 'rare spirit', he was remarkable for the range of his accomplishments and skills as a painter. With contributions from distinguished curators and art historians, friends and family the book is a celebration of the achievements of a man whose interests were kaleidoscopic and whose influence was far-reaching, but who was happiest among the rocks, cliffs and shroes of the islands. He was, above all, an 'Orkneyman'. Beautifully produced, with colour images throughout and a few black and white photographs.

Preface by Richard Calvocoressi.
