Rate this book
Fredrick Douglas said it best, “It’s easier to build strong children than repair broken men.”Young, intelligent, and successful, Sebastian Smith can’t catch a break in his career or personal life. No matter whether he proved himself worthy of respect or the obstacles he overcame, life has him by the neck, and Sebastian finds himself at odds with the law. Will Sebastian fight for his due respect or surrender to the pressures of life and the erratic statistic by society that all young black men are hoodlums and street thugs? Could looks be deceiving, or once a thug, always a thug? With unforeseen troubles immersing, Sebastian believes love is a thing of the past. Poor Sebastian

Poor Sebastian. He just can't catch a break. It's hard to be a successful black man without being labeled as a criminal or trouble maker. In addition to that, he has also gotten his heart broken. Satin came into his life and changed everything. She has her own problems and issues to deal with. Will the two get together and mend each other's hearts? You have to read it to find out.

Just Ok

The book was OK. It was kinda slow. Started picking up near the end only to be continued. I will read part 2 because I would like to see how everything works out in the end. A few grammatical issues too.

I really enjoyed this book and, can’t wait for part 2. I was holding my review hostage until part 2 came but, I decided to be nice. I hate that Sebastian got caught up; I hope that he can get out of it. Sebastian just can’t catch a break with his luck! I also want for Satin and Sebastian to be as one, I think they are good for each other. I can’t believe how the author just left us hanging at the end it was just so wrong but, I know she will make up for it in part 2.
