Winter wedding bells are ringing at the Cupcake Café!
It’s winter in Berecombe and Millie’s café is up for sale. Her final task as its owner is to host her friends’ Christmas wedding on the beach, only she’s feeling anything but festive! Putting her ex, Jed, firmly out of her mind is proving impossible now he’s back working for her biggest rival.
What on earth is Jed up to? Telling her he still loves her is all very well, but if her café goes out of business, no-one will buy it. Christmas might be the season of good will towards men – but can Millie trust this particular man with her heart again?
I received a copy of this book on NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
I loved Georgia Hill's writing style, I loved the characters. But I wish backstory was mentioned somewhere. I found it a little confusing whenever references from the other books were made. The editing was very well done for this book. I found Millie a little annoying as the book progressed but overall, it was okay. I would recommend reading this book only if you have read others in the series.
This was a true gem of a book! I absolutely LOVED it! It wasn't an overly long book but that doesn't take away from the story in the slightest. Also the shorter book makes it perfect for grabbing a bit of reading while sliding those holiday cookie trays in and out of the oven. A true feel good holiday book. It’s winter in Berecombe and Millie's cafe is for sale because it has not been turning a profit. Her one last task is hosting a festive Christmas wedding for her friend. She wants to get back with her ex Jed but he now works for the competition and he wants to explain what's going on to her but can't yet. She won't give him the chance to explain or the time of day and it leaves him heartbroken. Such a completely cosy cafe and beachy story. I could just feel the Christmas atmosphere being emitted by this story. You're going to want to add this to your Christmas book list now. I can't wait to read the next book in this series! Pub Date 22 Sep 2017 Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, HarperImpulse for a review copy in exchange for my honest review.
So lovely to go back to this beautiful Devon village to hear more about Millie and her beautiful cafe. It's a romantic book and a lovely light read and has you wanting to know what will happen next. So lighthearted to read and full of fun and Christmas. Millie just arrives back from her travels and she is upset the cafe sale still hasn't gone through and she was hoping it would do. She starts working again but enjoys telling others about her travels she sees jed and she hasn't fully made up her mind about if she can be with him but she still loves him. They start meeting up but then she learns from his brother who is now renovating the local hotel that he's been working for the blue elephant cafe and she gets so cross she walks away from him and can't believe he's hurt her again. Millie is busy sorting a wedding that will be at Christmas for a couple who use her cafe and she throws herself into. Can she forgive Jed and does she hear why he's working for the cafe and does it make her change her mind about him. The day of the wedding and her friend who is the actress comes back and she learns her and Mike are expecting a baby. Can things work out for the best for Millie and does she have to sell the cafe or not. A well written book can't wait for the next one now.
Millie's wish to travel has finally come true. Her café is for sale and her last winter in Millie Vanilla's Cupcake Café is all about the wedding she's organizing. It's going to take place at Christmas and will be located in the café and on the beach. However, Millie isn't having any sparkling and festive feelings. She's having problems with Jed and doesn't know how to fix them. He's keeping secrets from her and she has no idea what he's up to. She only knows it involves her biggest competition, the rivals who are ruining her business. That doesn't sit well with her at all. Is there a way for her and Jed to get through this?
Millie has brought her free spirited friend Eleri back to Berecombe to help her at the café. Eleri is great with the customers and has a certain wisdom that keeps attracting people. Will Eleri find happiness at Millie Vanilla's Cupcake Café? Can she cheer Millie up? It's almost Christmas, will the magic of the holiday make everything right in Millie's world or will she end up heartbroken and alone?
Millie Vanilla's Cupcake Café is such a wonderful place to read about. I love how Georgia Hill makes her setting come to life. I could easily picture the delicious cakes and hot chocolate and the regular customers are fun to read about. I love Millie, she's a sweetheart. She has such a good personality and that's the perfect basis for a Christmas story. I also liked reading about Eleri a lot. She's an original character with a fantastic world view and that gave the story plenty of surprising twists and turns, which made it difficult to put this third novella about Millie and her friends down.
Christmas Weddings is another fabulous story by Georgia Hill. I love Christmas and I'm a big fan of stories about weddings, so of course a combination of the two immediately put a big smile on my face. I loved the execution and the ending of the story is incredibly romantic, which suits the season very well. Georgia Hill has written a sweet and endearing series with a nice number of unexpected events and many gorgeous main characters. I highly recommend the Millie Vanilla's Cupcake Café stories, they're all enchanting, charming and delightful.
Christmas Weddings by Georgia Hill a fairy-tale four-star read. This is the third book in the Millie Vanilla’s Cupcake Café series and I would highly recommend you read them in order to get the whole story, they complement each other as the characters get more developed with each read. If you fancy a great Christmas read, that will take you away all of the way to Berecome and will while away an hour or two while you read. This is a sweet and tender read, there is a gentleness to the read that you can forget everything and just dream of being in a beachside café with a lovely hot beverage of your choice, as there will be plenty on offer. Millie is a great character, she really does put her heart and soul in things she feels she can help with, but she also sees the other side and understands the harsh realities of life. Will there be festive cheer to spread? Or will it all be a flash in the pan. If you are after a simple read to while away some hours, then grab this trilogy as it’s a sweet read that will leave you with a simple smile.
Book three of the Millie vanilla cupcake series. If you haven't read any of the books in the series. I highly suggest that you start with the first book and work your way through as it will give you all the back story that you need to read this book.
If you are looking for a fabulous Christmas read then look no further then this book. I am simply loving the Millie vanilla series and this book is no exception. I simply loved it.
Millie is back from her jet setting and is determined to put her old life behind her. The beachside cafe is for sale and she has started to put her disastrous relationship with Jed firmly from her mind.
Millie is determined to go out wth a bang and the biggest celebration you have ever seen. So Millie makes the cafe look very festive and beautiful, she has been baking like mad and has even made some speciality drinks. All in the name of true love and loyalty as two of her most loyal customers are getting married and celebrating in her cafe.
Millie is finding it hard to cope. Her life was meant to be so different to what it turned out to be. So when one friend starts a new relationship and seems to be head over heels in love and another announces that they are going to have a baby. Millie is happy for them but can't help feeling sad for herself as this was what she was meant to have with Jed.
The book isn't all sad and doom and gloom. But with highs in life there are also low points too. The book has a wonderful sense of community and there are lots of light comic strands running through it as well. It is always so lovely to meet up with old friends and I loved finding out what was happening with thw beloved character who have featured heavily throughout the series so far.
This book is really lovely and you can't help but feel that you are part of the community spirit and you are just wishing everyone love and happiness as they continue their journey. I look forward to the next book in the series.
This was a gloriously easy read which took me directly to South-West England and the seaside. The third book in the Millie Vanilla's Cupcake Cafe series, it sees the aforementioned Millie return from travelling determined to work out what is happening with the sale of her cafe and her relationship with Jed. There are so many questions which need to be answered in this book. Will Millie and Jed split forever? Will Millie sell the cafe and move away from Berecombe forever? Will the love stories that progress through the book find a happy ending. It's a short read but a lovely one, the characters are well drawn and stories that have been told throughout the trilogy of novels reach a conclusion. Millie herself is a great character and the addition of Eleri., her old friend and travelling companion adds to the story. It's packed with Christmas references and really got me in a festive mood, especially towards the end. I thoroughly enjoyed this series of books and would certainly recommend this easy read as a wonderful way to spend a wintry aftternoon.
I hadn't realised that there were other books in the series when I started this book, so I would have benefited from a little background. I did read it as a standalone but I think it would be better to have read books 1 and 2 first!!
Millie is a cute character and the story unfolds nicely but i did always wonder about certain elements which became clearer once the story nears its end.
A great supporting cast, particularly Eleri who appears to be floaty and ethereal whilst bringing a touch of magic with her.
I really enjoyed this combination of romance, secrets, weddings, beaches and (of course) Christmas, which provided the perfect finale to the Cupcake Café series. The storyline had me turning the pages rapidly and I was left with a lovely warm and festive feeling.
Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the Publishers for this review copy.
This is the third and final part of the Millie Vanilla’s Cupcake Café serialisation. It was originally released in three separate short novellas, but has now also been released as a full length novel. I would advise that you read the series in order as the storyline from the other two books were referred to in this book.
It has been a while since I’ve read the previous two parts of this story and I found it hard to remember some of the characters and storylines. As it is a full length novel split into three separate parts, there is no reminder at the start of the book to jog your memory as what would normally happen with books that are in a series. From what I can remember, I really enjoyed the first part of the series, but felt that the second part lost its edge slightly. I feel the same with this book as well. I think it is mainly due to the fact that I’ve read it at three different times – if I had read it initially as one full book I would have enjoyed it more.
But, it’s still safe to say that it was an enjoyable read and it was lovely to get a happy ending at the end of this book. It was well written and had its fair share of humour along the way with plenty of love and romance. A fun festive read!
I 've enjoyed reading the first two books in this series, so I'm pleased the final book has a festive flavour. Like all of these Cupcake Cafe books, they can be read as standalone but I recommend reading the whole series, which is a lovely quick read, to appreciate the character development and the overall plot.
Millie returns from her travels abroad, hoping to complete the sale of her cafe. part of her wants to see Jed but she sent him away so there is no chance of that?
Another romance dominates this story apart from the loved-up couple who Millie is arranging the wedding for at the cafe. Ri and Alex are an unlikely couple but their's proves to be an engaging story, with a mystical slant that I always enjoy.
This is a gentle, romantic story, which incorporates the festive element beautifully. The ending is charming and full of vivid imagery, which makes it easy to imagine being one of the wedding guests. Thankfully everyone has a happy ending. What more could you ask for in a festive read?
I received a copy of this book from Harper Impulse via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
Oh lord how I have loved this beautiful trilogy! I was lucky enough to stumble upon the series in a charity shop, having never read one of Georgia Hills books, I read the blurb and decided I’d happily give it a try! The seaside is my all time favourite place to be and the the place my family are moving too next year and I intend to spend my life, so to have a book set at the Cornish sea side was a treat. I have basqued in the beauty of it all, Millie is incredible and so is Jed, what an ending, at times my partner would ask me what I was smiling away at and I’d have to say ‘my book’ I am not a fan of love stories or romance novels, but this was beautifully written has are all 3 cupcake cafe books, number 1 was my favourite but I also loved the ending of number 3 what a treat. What a series. I am going to read another series from Georgia Hill when I get chance, she is a genuinely a great author.
It’s so good to be back in Berecombe – it feels like coming home for Christmas! But all is not well as Millie returns from her travels and Jed sets off on his.
Georgia Hill has another winner on her hands with this third book in the series. All the angst and trials and tribulations of running a small business are there and then there’s love and romance which seem to be a bit in short supply! It’s wonderful to catch up with all the previous characters and be introduced to a new one and see how they all fit together.
This is a fabulous feel-good read, absolutely perfect for the festive season and a must have for your Christmas list. It is definitely one of my favourite series at the moment and I cannot wait for the fourth book which I’ve just noticed is out in January. Bring it on!
I received an arc via NetGalley in exchange for my honest, original and unbiased review.
Book 3 of a 3 part book series. Note to readers, you can either read this as a 3 part book series like I’m going to or there is a full length novel which includes all of the 3 parts should you prefer to read it in that format.
Well there was certainly lots going on in this last book to the series, full on drama and a bit of action, wasn’t expecting the trouble that Jed got into and the pain/suffering he went through all in the name of love. I still don’t like some of the decisions/actions that Millie took throughout the series but at least she came to her senses come the end of the series especially in regard to Jed.
Overall the series was well written, pretty fast paced with lots going on, even a wedding or two.
This is the third book in the Cupcake Cafe series and I must say perhaps my favourite of the three. I loved catching up with Millie,Jed and all the other fabulous characters we've been introduced to!
I have been left very happy with the ending we got here and feel we got a lot of extra little stories and amazing characters along the way.
I did not see the excitement with Jed coming at all. I just couldn't put the book down until I had finished.
I shall miss this series and the characters but I can't wait to see what we get from Georgia Hill next!
Thanks to the publisher for an arc copy in exchange for an honest review.
What a fun, cute, romantic read. This is another sweet addition to the Millie Vanilla's Cupcake Café Mysteries. Millie does not know what to do when the love of her life does things that make her question whether they are ever going to be together, things are not always so black and white now are they? What happens when Millie decides that it is time to leave the sweet small town and go somewhere else, will she leave or will she stay? This was a great story. Thank you NetGalley and Georgia Hill for allowing me to read this ARC and write a honest review.
Last one in the series. I enjoyed the story but because it was a while back that I read parts 1 and 2 I found it difficult to remember what had happened previously and there was no prompt at the start of the book.
Once I started remembering who everyone was the story seemed to be over.
Although a lovely ending to the series I thought it was very rushed and could have done with a bit more time to get the real “lovey dovey” feel.
Might be better to read this series as one book if it gets published later on as one book.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book.
A lovely quick festive read. I really liked the characters and am going to read the earlier books in the series to learn more about them. This is the third book in a series but the first one that I have read. It was easy to follow as the author gives you enough information to get the gist of what went on in past books. Really enjoyed it and looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
While this book can be read without reading the previous ones it does add more to the story when you know the backstory to some of the characters. The story was fun and well written, as always and it made me laugh a lot. I find this series to be a sweet easy read and this one definitely captured the Christmas spirit.
I received a copy of this book on NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
What a lovely, Christmassy story, full of warmth and joy. The course of true love doesn’t run smoothly for Millie however , nor does it for her friend and free spirit Eleri, but the eventual happy ending drew a contented smile from me. I'm now feeling very festive but unfortunately I have a while to wait until my feelings match the season!
Millie is back in Berecombe with a hard decision can she really sell the cafe or is it possible to compete with the new business rival ..... and more to the point with Jed working for them!
A cosy quick read, good to catch up with the characters from the previous books and finish off the series nicely
The sale of Millie's cafe is being threatened by the arrival of a chain coffee store but she boxes on with plans for a Christmas wedding. This book is a nice easy read but there are some editing issues - my pet peeve! 3 stars ⭐⭐⭐
Nicely written but I had not read the earlier books in the series, so some of the characters and mention of past events meant nothing to me. Hard to engage for this reason alone.
What a delightfully easy Christmas read by Georgia Hill. I was very excited about heading back to Berecombe and Millie's cafe I must say! And this novella certainly didn't disappoint! From the start there was just so much happening I couldn't put the book down! As the book is on the short side, you get through it very quickly too - wishing there was more! I really hope we head back to Berecombe in the future!
As I mentioned above, there is so much going on straight from the start of the book. The book essentially carries on from the last one in the series - Summer Loves. But I think it could be read as a standalone as you could easily get the gist as to what is going on! I enjoy all the returning characters (although there isn't much mention of Biddy or Arthur!) and I enjoyed getting to know new ones as well.
This book has everything, drama (110%), romance and humour. The one thing I wished it did have more of though is Christmas. As the novella is titled 'Christmas Weddings', I assumed there would be a lot of descriptions about all things Christmas but there wasn't much at all. This is the one thing I was a tad disappointed about. Also, I thought there'd be a lot more about the wedding as well, but there was only a few bits on it!
Overall, an enjoyable and easy read. Thank you to Netgalley and to the publisher for a chance to read this novel, which I have reviewed honestly.
