Brookelyn wrote her first short story when she was a sophomore in high school. Back then she discovered how using her experience as a teen living in Brooklyn to create romantic shorts was just as exciting to her as retail shopping and going on dates. After starting her first semester of college two years later, Brookelyn’s creative writing became more of a hobby and something to do to escape the stress of midterms and finals. Now in her 30s as a freelance writer, penning short stories and novellas is her everything. While her experience with writing has evolved for the better, her undying love for creating fiction remains unchanged. Brookelyn's focus is on creating contemporary women's fiction with characters based in urban settings. Her stories chronicles the emotional journeys and erotic experiences of women today through her characters and the scenarios they're thrown into.
The motivation behind her brand of writing has a lot to do with what she discovered storytelling provided for her - an escape. Her goal with her work is to create characters and urban worlds that offer a great escape for fiction readers looking for a break from the daily grind of adulting and who prefer to relax with good books and short stories. When she’s not freelancing, doing yoga, or showing her husband and toddler lots of love, she can be found sitting at her computer desk, with her legs folded, and a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine) at arm’s reach as she types or edits her latest short or novella.
At first, it was difficult to guess which man Lila would choose. In the end, I thought she made a wise choice considering all she had been through. Good storyline and series
This is the final book in the series and let me tell you, it had me shook. I was so angry with Lila and her stupid decisions. She just kept making the same mistake over and over. I couldn't believe that after the bomb the detective dropped on her about Mello, she still let him smash. That was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I get it, we all are flawed, but come on Lila!
At the beginning of this story I was Team Mello, but when it was confirmed that he was still in the game I changed my mind. I knew nothing good would come of it. Mello was real fowl. I can't believe he pursued Lila knowing what he had done. He was so selfish, but I guess everyone in this book was. They all wanted what they wanted when they wanted it, without regard of the other people's feelings.
In the end she got her HEA, but I am not sure she deserved it. Manny was way too forgiving. Most men wouldn't forgive her. I guess that's why he was special after all. Good story and writing. I wanted to stop reading after each one of Lila's mistakes, but I had to find out what happened, much like her nosey neighbor. Lol
Lila was a very lucky girl to have her standards and Great SeXy Men at the same time. Many F'd Up in the beginning w/ Ashley but got it right before it was too late. But Mello BayBee made it hard and he would Fight for you!! I know you said that you were done for good with Lila and Manny story and Mello is going to get his own book. So why did you mention in final series that Mello texted Lila to never change her number??? I still liked their HOT chemistry! Maybe there is an update in Mello's standalone story with him reaching out to Lila? Don't know haven't read it yet but looking forward to it. I'm glad Manny came through in the end and put it down! I Fully enjoyed this series. On my way to stalk Mello now LOL😉😍
Lila still was confused about what she wanted in part three, she was still torn between Mello and Manny. When Lila finally decided she didnt want either one of them, I was happy she made that decision, but that didnt make Mello stop trying to get her back. In the end she made the right decision in the man she wanted, but when found out what Mello did, that is what finally made her not chose him. This entire series was well written and a page turner and I'm glad I discovered Brookelyn Mosley and will be continuing to read her books!!!
Yall, Lila stressed me tf out!! I’ve been #TeamManny since book one. Mello definitely was puttin in work but when she found out all the shit he was in, that shoulda been it but she just kept goin back!! I’m glad she took her brothers condom advice because babygirl was on all the dicks! I lowkey thought she was bout to go for the detective too. Anywhoo, great ending. I got my closure.
Wow the story was interesting kept my attention Lila was a little on the slow side I just didn't understand her but to each his own. I kept thinking through the book oh my God is she really that stupid but she really was. Takes all kinds to make the world go round it was worth the read though Ms. Mosley is a good author very talented.
Lila was weak at every point that it mattered and it was disheartening to read. I only read this series so I could read Romello's book. I know this is one of the author's older books so I won't get into detail about the grammar issues. I also had to give this a low rating for Manny using the N-word when he's Puerto Rican.
I loved this entire series it was really dope... I’m pleased with the ending but deep down I’m #TeamMello and I can’t wait to indulge deeper into his story. I loved Lila and Manny together it just seemed that they fit in a weird way.
This series took me by surprise and had me wanting more. I love quick reads all 3 books was a great read. Thank you. Oh Manny.......oh Manny.. damn Mello....damn Mello....karma is real!! Oh my......
Games people play, but I'm glad Manny got it together. I honestly believe that Mello loved Lila, unfortunately wrong place, wrong time. This was a great series, I can't wait to read more from the author
I enjoyed reading this book so much! I couldn't put my kindle down! I enjoyed the storyline and the chemistry between the couple! Such a fantastic book!
Lila finally made up her mind and I applaud her choice! Even though it took a lot of messy, even more common sense and most importantly...some inner growth for all involved to get together. And the barbershop antics were an added bonus! I thoroughly enjoyed this series!
The revelation to Lia of what Manny said to Mello was off the hook. Mello has a secret and the knowledge changes Lia's life forever. Someone nearly loses their life . Manny makes a decision that reveals his real feelings to Lia in so many ways.
You will be lost if you have not followed this series from the beginning. Even though these have been novellas I have love the ride. I was blindsided with the revelation from Mello in his past in Lia's life. I would love to know what happens to Mello, maybe you can reveal more Ms. Mosley.
Lia's decision was made from knowing truth even though she had feelings galore for both Manny and Mello.
Great work Ms. Mosley..keep the great work coming...
