Any man who is prepared to take on the first name of the King of Rock 'n' Roll has to have enough confidence in his own talent not to care what the critics think of him, and this is certainly the case with Mrs. McManus' little boy. Pretty good basic overview of EC's career through Painted from Memory. The writing is a bit snarky at times, but then so is his subject.

The Kill Your Idols series interests me in concept. I picked up this diminutive copy at a thrift store, and I've since given it away, with the following disclaimer, to a fellow Costello fan: dry and disappointing.

I'm still interested in the rest of the series, but NOT as much as before, if this one was typical.
