Chenell Parker you have done it once again! Once I started reading, I just couldn't stop. Finally David and Candace were able to have a happy ending. I wanted to knock Candace out for being so hard on David. Now as far as Yasmine, I didn't like her from the beginning, she was very trifling. Yasmine did so many people wrong and, karma got the best of her. Last but not least, that darn Co-Co hasn't changed! That darn Co-Co had me laughing the entire time, I'm really going to miss his character. #CCC
I swear Chenell has done it again. This book was so good. I glad to see Brooklyn and Dominic is still going strong. I was tired of Candace and the back and fourth but I'm glad they gotten together. Yasmine I have no words for her, she gotten what she deserve. Coco is something else he had me laughing the whole time. This book is a must read.
David && Candace were so much alike they scared each other and was afraid to allow their true feelings to show. David finally realized that Candace was meant for him. Thru the breakups and make ups the love truly showed. I was so thrilled when they finally got they stuff together. That Yasmine was something else and she definitely received everything she deserved. I was glad to see the growth and maturity in Brooklyn, and I was happy that her and Dominic's relationship was still going strong. That Co-Co had me dying laughing there out the entire book. He needs his own book and I almost cried when his daddy finally accepted his relationship with Dwight. Overall this series is 5⭐️'s. Chenell Parkers pen game is something serious. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down.....
A stellar, well written story about how complicated love can be when two people keep getting in their own way. David loves Candace but struggles with being patient as she continues to hold back on fully committing to him. After a series of break ups and make ups due to a scandalous newcomer, Yasmine, and ex boyfriend, Jordan, they finally get it right. Then there is the dramatic and quick witted Co Co who almost runs off Dwight, the love of his life, as he worries about how his father will accept him in the family. It didn't help much that Yasmine was Dwight's scandalous cousin who sleeps with just about anyone resulting in her demise. As always, Ms. Parker gives us a little bit of humor, scandal, sex, and love in this 10 star banger.
You Should Let Me Love You picks up where You’re My Little Secret left off, continuing Candace and David’s love story. After failed relationships, Candace is hesitant to commit, while David’s past as a player has kept him from settling down. Despite their struggles, they decide to give love a real shot. But when an argument leads to a brief breakup, the question remains—can their relationship ever be the same?
This book also introduces Yasmin, Dwight’s cousin, who comes to New Orleans with a plan to shake things up. However, she quickly learns the hard way that karma doesn’t play. We learn a little more about Taylor and Bryce’s relationship, and Co-Co finally introduces Dwight to his family. Co-Co and Jaden never disappoint us and will have us in tears!
Brooklyn and Dominic are still an added bonus, supporting David and Candace’s relationship while bringing humor to the story, along with David’s parents and Ms. Pam. And we get to meet not one but two love interests of Cordell, who is Candace and Co-Co’s dad.
To truly understand all the players and their connections, readers should start with You’re My Little Secret 1, 2, and 3 first.
This story was a great follow up book. David and Candace finally got it right and made a family together, but not without challenges along the way. Candace had to let go of her hurt and pain in order to embrace and enjoy her presence. David was a good man, and I knew that he could only take so much before he made changes. He was relentless in his pursuit of Candace had didn't stop until she was right where she belonged. Co was still too much with his over dramatic self, but glad that his dad came around. Dwight found his backbone and learned to put his foot down, and that's exactly what Co Co needed. Yasmine was a trifling garden tool that reaped what she sewed. She had no respect for anybody's relationship and her scandalous ways came back to haunt her. Sana was a woman scorned and betrayed, so flipping out was expected. I loved this story because I still got me plenty of laughs to go along with the drama.
Yasmine really was doing too much and should've known her indiscretions would finally catch up to her. I was shocked to learn just how far Sana took things after being betrayed. Co-Co was still a mess like always but I was glad he finally did the right thing concerning Dwight. I'll admit I thought Candace was dumb for not letting David know about the meeting she needed for closure. That was the start of things going downhill. It was a good thing David never gave up and continued to fight for his relationship. Yasmine was definitely a thorn in everyone's side and was foul for what she did. Dominic's suggestion worked and Candace finally stopped being stubborn. I was so happy for them because they both deserved happiness and needed to allow their hearts to lead them in the right direction.
David sand Candace story was told too fast. I wanted more. Don't Gey me wrong, I laughed so hard throughout the book, but it was too short. They deserved more to their love story. Glad to have received a peek into how close Candace and CoCo are as siblings. Add Brooklyn to the mix and it's a recipe for a lot of laughs. Dwight balances CoCo crazy, dramatic tail. I love how Cordell Sr found love and acceptance. I just wanted a longer story like we had with Dominic and Brooklyn
She is Simply the BEST better than all the rest!!!!!!!
This is a must read book and so are all of her other books, but this book had everything and the best character was CoCo he was so funny this book had me laughing all the way from beginning to the end . Just know this Karma is a bitch! Who would know better than Yasmin. But CoCo I loved. I really love this author her writing style are always on point she is awesome.Great job Ms. Parker.
This spin-off was good as heck I love the characters they always crack me up. I love the family dynamic they have. I love reading about them and hope they have more honestly. It wasn’t nothing I didn’t like I hate what happened with Yasmine but hey you do dirty something is bound to come back to you. I wonder if we going to hear more about the younger siblings.
This is my second go reading this crazy in love story!! Crazy is the key word because Coco is back. I enjoyed reading about these characters in my little secret and the author kicked it up a notch by bringing together forces to be reckoned with. David and Candence together is a lot of work. This story leaves you wanting more craziness in Coco.
I loved reading this book. I loved the relationship with Dominic and Brooklyn the most because they had the right blend of being playful, sexy, and serious. Karma got Yas and I was not complaining. Great read!
David and Candace know they play entirely too much. That Yasmine was a super hot mess. She thought that she could get away with anything. Boy did Sana showed her different, that girl went ham. Again nice to catch up with the crew.
Omg so happy Cadence and David are finally happy and married living good. I’m happy Lisa came into Cad father life after the death of his wife and that nasty behind Charlotte ugly self
Coco is hilarious 😆.. this story was amazing. Candace was nerve racking and yasmine was a piece of work .. like the fact that Brooklyn and Dominic was in the story as well
Really enjoyed reading about David and Candace. I was glad to see Brooklyn and Dominic also. Yasmine met her karma in a horrible way. The storyline was great and I enjoyed the characters
The update of Dominic and Brook’s love was appreciated. However, in this spinoff Candace tap danced on all of my nerves. She was just as extra as Co-Co. Zit was entirely too much.
The story line was great however the book went from first person to second person several times during the book which had me rereading to make sure I understood what was happening… Otherwise that the book was really good glad for this update on the characters….
I was so glad to get an update on Dominic, Brooklyn and the rest of the crew. It was a great story and Co-Co is still crazy as ever, keeping you laughing with the dramatics. Perfect story.
I was so happy to hear from some of my all time favorite characters. I absolutely loved it. Yasmine got her karma. I loved the way it ended. I can’t wait to read the other spinoffs. Chenell you have done it again.
I really enjoyed this read. I was tired of the back and forth and happy that they both got it together. I would say I was so shocked when it came to Sana, but I guess Yasmine played with too many people for the last time. Chenell you did that.
This author has a catalog that you can spin the block each year. It's been a minute since I read this one, Co-Co has me rolling. If you're looking for a story to brighten your day, look no further.
