College football’s most notorious tight end wants to show her that everything’s bigger in Texas.

Cassie

I can’t stand jocks. And I don’t know the first thing about football.

So it’s just my luck that the tutoring job I take to get me through graduate school involves making sure a dumb jock passes his classes.

Now, I’m babysitting Colton King, a spoiled arrogant player who’s as famous for his bedroom antics as he is for his football skills.

The tight end with the filthy mouth tells me he’ll show me that everything’s bigger in Texas.

And heaven help me, I just might be considering it.

* * *

Colton

My life is one big party, and that’s never going to change.

Not even if my coach finds me a nerdy tutor he thinks will keep me in line.

Miss Goody Two Shoes is uptight, high-strung, and unimpressed by the fact that I’m a campus legend.

Even worse, the hot little tutor is as pure as the driven snow.

Debauching her and making her mine is the ultimate challenge. And I always rise to the occasion.

*This is not a football-heavy story, so if you're not into sports, don't worry! It's light on the sports and heavy on the steam!*

I just could not get over what an epic immature douche bag the hero was. I literally hated him for at least 30% of the book. Probably more.

He was such a skank, I would not have touched him without him first being doused in bleach and lye! I mean I just do not see how any self respecting woman finds his brand of shit attractive. He pulled shit that was not funny or cool. (i.e. the locker room)

And do not get me started on the heroine. He inner musings about drove me over the edge. How does an intelligent 23 year old virgin go gaga over this guy? She cannot think about anything but his dick! I was so freaking tired of listening to her think and talk about his dick. Especially knowing it had been in every available skank in the vicinity.

I can only imagine I read the entire book because it was late and I did not want to go to sleep or start anything new. I guess the two stars are because there were a couple of entertaining parts, he was not a cheater (surprise, surprise) and it had an HEA.

The hot, playboy, jock falls for his good girl tutor. The story has been done many times, which means it takes something extra special for a book with that plot to stick out. And this book had it!

Colton and Cassie were so cute together, and I loved getting their story and seeing how they navigated through the normal college struggles to get to their happy ever after. Colton was an ass of epic proportions, and yet I found myself rooting for him, and even anticipating when he would have his "ah ha" moment and change his ways for Cassie.

They were completely different from each other, but it worked for their relationship and made the story really interesting. It was great to see Cassie, the over thinking good girl, try to stop worrying long enough to let go like Colton, the no-care-in-the-world bad boy, would do. Both characters grew a lot during this book, even though it wasn't a super long one. And they were such a hot couple once they got together too!

Overall, this was a fast paced, yet full of sweetness and sexiness, book that any fan of NA will enjoy. The mix between a sweet storyline and the sex scenes was really good, and neither was overdone or too much. I've only read one other book by Sabrina Paige but after this I will definitely be going back to read some more.

Overall Opinion: This was actually a pretty enjoyable and hot read. I wouldn't go into it expecting anything deep, but it had its sweet moments too. It also had pretty low drama overall. So for a light, sexy, and cute read for in between those heavy books this might just do the trick. Super cute epilogue with a HEA too!

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Cassie and Colton's story. Cassie is hired to tutor Colton, because he is the football star that is on academic probation. The sparks fly instantly, but Cassie has no desire to be another notch on the campus manwhore's bed. Colton pursues her, and they start a physical relationship that turns into more. There are some hot scenes, some sweet scenes, and a little bit of drama...but they get their HEA ending.

POV: This alternated between Cassie and Colton's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good. It had a good flow and I never felt the need to skim.

Instalove: No, I'd say there was adequate time for feelings to develop.

H rating: 4 stars. Colton. He was hard to like at first, but he quickly became all about the h and was really loyal. I liked him and his dirty talking (and he had a cute relationship with his mom).

h rating: 4 stars. Cassie. I liked her. She made him chase just enough without it being her pushing away too much, and I liked the way she grew into her own sexuality.

Sadness level: Low. No tissues needed.

Heat level: Moderate/high. This was bordering on erotica because there were a lot of scenes, but it never crossed the line into being more about the sex than the story IMO. Pretty hot scenes with a dirty talker H.

Descriptive sex: Yes

Safe sex: Birth control and std status talk, but no condom use (mentions of never going without before).

OW/OM drama: Mild

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Possible Triggers: Mild

Closure: This had some good closure with a cute jump ahead epilogue and a HEA ending.

How I got it: It was part of my kindle unlimited subscription.

Safety: Safe with exception

Nothing particularly bad or good about this one. Meh-ehh.

Trite

This story follows the typical college romance troupe - hot man-ho jock with a massive cock meets virgin nerd who's secretly a beautiful nympho waiting to be pulled out of her uptight shell.

Fine enough, if the subplots, characters, something, anything distinguishes the book from the hordes of sports romances before it.

Never found anything unique or memorable about any of it.

Mama And The Bad Guy Should've Stayed Home!

The MMC's farm mom came multiple times to his parties to "visit" , cook, and give love advice for him and his teammates WHILE they throw wild ass parties with naked college kids running amuck. Mama even sets one of his party girls off on one of his teammates so he wouldn't be tempted while he was mad with the FMC. Mama should've stayed at home and had these mama/son convos ON THE PHONE!

Likewise, what college football coach would see a girl getting felt up (boob squeeze) by one of his players and immediately have this reaction - kick the player off his team and call the cops to have him arrested for assault? Don't get me wrong the player was a jerk, but I find it hard to believe the coach would call that assault & end the player's college and potential professional life. The cops recommending a restraining order for grabbing her boob.. Also not likely. This bad guy should've stayed his ass at home.

Wash, Rinse, Repeat

Both characters have a one track mind.

For 80-90% of the book, he thinks about 1) his dick 2) her vagina 3) how to put both to use without a getting caught in a relationship.

Meanwhile, she thinks about 1) his dick 2) him being a dick 3) her virgin vagina wanting his dick 4) getting caught wanting the dick's dick.

Occasional school work thought, football mention, mom advice, cock bouquet, and BFF banter. And, a couple of pages are devoted to a creepy teammate who causes trouble for no apparent reason other than to serve as the catalyst to move the fuck buddy thing into a relationship status with hearts.

Where is the meat, author? ... And no, his dick doesn't count!

Foreplay

Foreplay, Foreplay, and more Foreplay. << That's actually well written and pretty hot considering it's all vanilla kinda run of the mill happenings. The two do have a thing about getting down and dirty in places where they could be caught .

After they have sex, it kinda gets repetitive and too often for my taste... I'd have preferred more time and energy toward the substance of the relationship.

Chapter 47 & 48 Jump

Chapters 1-46 occur the summer before his senior year of college. She's a grad student and has several years left of school. So basically the book timeline is a couple months where they fight lust, give in to lust, and eventually realize it's all more than lust. Chapter 46 ends with them admitting love and entering a relationship.

Chapter 47 then jumps NINE YEARS later when they are married, he's in the NFL, and they have two kids.

Wtf?!?

I feel like the actual tests and important moments of their relationship, the meat of a romance, was totally SKIPPED.

Nothing on his NFL draft, how they survived her still being in school when he drafted, how they got married, how they had kids, etc.

I'd rather a HEAFN (which I hate) than a diary entry into a couple months of someone's life followed by a two-chapter synopsis on the decade long HEA, over half of which was comprised of a sex scene.

Bottom Line

2 1/2 it is what it is stars.

• Writing is fine enough.

• There's nothing special or standout about the plot or characters.

• A few plot points were forced, like the mom, and just didn't fit into the story.

• Aside from him meeting the FMC as he has a handful of some random and nameless jersey chaser's ass, there are NO
OW or OM scenes, which I always appreciate. Thank you!

• Endless amounts of sexual scenes.

• Virgin FMC.

Recommend for those that are looking for footballer/nerd lust with a HEA vs plot and character development and substance.

3.5 stars! Despite his manwhore past and some references as to how he is in bed (by him)lol I enjoyed this. Cassie was a somewhat sassy heroine who I liked. Colton was one arrogant ass at times but oddly I didn't mind it. In fact I laughed alot.I loved his mom .Sable her BFF was funny. Overall cute, sexy, light read. epilogue was cute.

safety : hero was a manwhore .heroine was a virgin. one scene in the beginning hero is sliding down a slide at a party naked. he lands in the pool and ow puts her boobs on him and he grabbed her butt (this was before meeting the herione. Another time friend sends a girl to hero's room naked. nothing happens hero kicks her out . Also one of hero's teammates groped herione (grabbed her boob).

damn, not quite what I expected...

the heorine Cassie says: I can’t stand jocks. And I don’t know the first thing about football.

well, I just MIGHT say that after this book

Nah... I would never ACTUALLY SAY that...

First of all, I LOVE these kind of topics, they relax me, they make me feel all chirpy and shit and I like to remind myself that fun is not overrated and it's accessable to everyone at anytime, and all you gotta do is to be open, so of course I came running towards this book when I saw it...

it had everything I needed from this subject - a jock (pompous, arrogant ass who is lovable by the end of the book); a nerdy heroine (sweet, smart, sassy) a lot of banter and hot steamy sex

what I was left to deal with is - a jock (who fuckin' stayed arrogant and annoying till the end, who actually played the part of a stupid jock who fucked good till the last drop), heroine (who was who dropped the walls along with the clothes in just about the third encounter, or was it fourth?! and then we listen to her inner conflicts (why she shouldn't do it, but she can't resist the temptation, and there go all the smart moves she played out as the cover front) - the banter, ah the infamous language battle, that was awkward at times, at times i had a feeling I am reading smth that would come out of the mouth of a much older person then these 21 year olds and then they would act like a couple of immature little kids whose toys got taken away from them...

the only thing that is really good is thesex - that is steamy and hot BUT yet again it's totally opposite to what the characters are saying and acting, so I couldn't quite make the two together!
*shrugs*

so in the end, it was an OK read.

BUT this won't stop me from running towards another jock...just watch me

Not bad but had very little substance to it. Take away the ad nauseum sexual innuendos and them going at it constantly like Energiser Bunnies and there's not much of a story left.

(dumb) jock + (virgin) nerd = HOT SEX

This was a hot, sexy and light read.

Don't expect a deep story, enjoy the sex ;)

After reading 50% of the book I got a little bit annoyed about the virgin thing. The whole time it is emphasized that the heroine is a virgin and I wanted an explanation. Don't get me wrong. I didn't expect any drama or something. It would have been enough to say e.g She waited for the right guy. I finally got my explanation after reading approx. 60% of the book, but I don't want to spoil it for you :)

2.57/ 3 ish

So, it was mostly meh. But it did make me smile a couple of times, so it deserves the extra 0.25. Not sure it should get 3 stars, but ah well.

Anyway, good part is that it's a fast read (and you don't really miss anything if you skim a bit either). So go ahead and give it a try, maybe you're lucky and it's better for you. If not, well, at least it won't take too long to finish.

DNF at 16%

I decided to read Tackled because I read and loved The Deal by Elle Kennedy. The Deal starred a popular "star" jock and an incredibly smart heroine who tutored him. The hero in The Deal cared about his future and his education. He was having a great time being a star player but he was intelligent as well.

I DNF'd Tackled because I hated the hero, Colton. He was a total jackass with no real plans for the future. In all honesty, from the 16% that I read, he read like a Johnny "Football" Manziel: A privileged hot mess of a person with very few redeeming qualities and a definite bend towards self-destruction. In addition to that, Colton seems to lack even basic respect for women. Not my cup of tea. At all.

“...her sister is your biggest fan. You know what that means, dude.”

I groan. I know what that means. When a girl is my biggest fan, I can get her to do anything. If means blowjobs in the backseat of the car on the way to my place, getting my fill of her, and then kicking her ass out the door. They’re always grateful to have gotten a piece of me."
-Tackled, 16%

The beginning of Tackled has the heroine meeting the hero at his house: he lives off campus and was throwing a party (instead of studying). The heroine comes in and is treated to the hero jumping off of the roof into the pool. He is buck naked and covered in lube. The pool is full of half-naked co-eds and the hero sticks his head directly into a pair of welcoming boobs. THEN he calls the heroine a stripper because she's professionally dressed.

WTF. Seriously. I...just can't. I felt my I.Q. dropping with every word I read. But the cover is hot.

DNF.

I really disliked Colton up until about 50% of the book. He got somewhat better after that. He was just very cocky and arrogant. Honestly, I don't really see how he decided Cassie was the one for him. He blatantly said he could get free p***y any time he wanted. So, what was special about her to him? And, he continually thinks that it's just a summer thing then he's out of there and on to the pros. I mean, look at how she sees him the first time...it definitely doesn't leave a good impression. Then, he continues this behavior on her because she's "hot".

There were a lot of sex scenes. I found myself skimming through them. I wanted to see more of relationship building because it kind of seemed that's all there was. I think with a little more time outside of the sex, I could have possibly bought into her being "the one"....that she was different from all the other girls. Then we have the dreaded misunderstandings that I loathe. They could have easily been worked out quickly with some communication.

I did like the epilogue. But what really saved this for me from being two stars, was the banter and humor throughout. I even enjoyed the verbal sparring between Cassie and Colton. I absolutely loved Sable, Cassie's roommate. She was hilarious as well as Colton's mom. But as far as a good romance, I just didn't buy it.

I have to say, it took me a little bit to get into this one.  For some reason, Colton was pissing me off big time.  He was cocky and arrogant, and I just wasn't feeling it.  But I stuck with the story and ended up liking it.  Loving it?  No.  But I liked it.  It was somewhat predictable, but that was okay too.

Cassie is assigned Colton's tutor.  He is failing and will be put on probation if he doesn't get his grades up.  And of course, he is a star football player for the college. HE WAS SOOOO FRIGGING COCKY!  But Cassie had a way of bringing him down a peg and I really liked that.  So things between them start to get interesting when there is an obvious attraction between them.  The "foreplay" between them was so steamy hot!! Like unbelievably steamy hot!!

Shout out to Cassie's best friend Sable!!!  She was awesome!  I loved her attitude, sassiness, and "tell it like it is" personality!  I am definitely hoping for a book about her (and Tank!!).....yes, Tank.  He seemed like one big teddy bear that you just want to hug up on!

And another shout out to Colton's Mom!! She was the coolest mom around!

So so so much misogyny in this, sexism and slut shaming everywhere you look.

But i gave it a 3? Yeah cuz... It's erotica and the sex is hot. And let's be honest jockey sports bros are not always the most enlightened of us, but they are apparently quite hung and good in bed.

Colton is not a good romantic hero, he is crazy Alfa with no sense of boundrys but he's a pretty darn good erotic hero and can steam up the pages.

So yeah I enjoyed it, thanks Therese for the rec! Definitely worth the $1 lol.

I love Sabrina Paige's writing. She writes step brother romances like no other!! I have come to expect that Sabrina's books have taboo/forbidden romance themes with super hot chemistry, great banter and then WHAM the feelings sink into you and all of the sudden this sexy fun read became...sweet. I want them to have a HEA.

Tackled was not a step brother romance, but it was just as addictive for me.

Cassie is a grad student and takes the job of tutoring Colton King - her college's football legend.
Warning - we have a 23 year old virgin heroine. Yea, I kind of rolled my eyes too, but don't let that put you off this story. It worked. She's studious, she's smart and not interested in fawning all over Colton.

Colton is a football god. He is talented on the field and used to getting whatever he wants. He's arrogant, conceited, sexy, charming, and totally inappropriate. Not to mention he's a total player. Women throw themselves at him because of his status on the football team.

These two characters are nothing alike. Colton is good at getting Cassie all riled up, and Cassie is good at resisting Colton - something he isn't used to.

Well....she resists him for a while. She can't quite resist him forever. But they are technically not allowed to date because of the university's "no fraternizing policy" between tutors and students.

The chemistry between these two characters is amazing. And they have to sneak around because of the policy.

That right there - the sneaking around - it just does it for me. It is so addictive!!!! I kept sneaking pages in any chance I got to read. The book was calling my name all hours of the day.

I also loved the support characters - Cassie's friend, Colton's mom, brother, the brother's girlfriend, Tank. There was just so much goodness in this book.

Bottom line: LOVED IT!!! Sexy, fun, frantic, breaking the rules love story.

Highly recommend!!!

This sports-related entry written by another new-to-me-author was scorching hot, naughty and wickedly decadent – but oh so fun-to-read! Only thing missing (and a bit of a disappointment) was the football – pretty much zilch except for a few trips to the athletic training center and sex in the closet of the stadium alumnae seating box.

Our lead characters, Colton and Cassie, are total opposites adding another layer of appeal to the scenario. He’s a jock; she’s a nerd. He needs help; she needs money. But neither expected the full force of the impact each would have on the other. At first I wasn’t sure if Colton was going to be very likable, but as luck would have it, he turned into quite the sweetheart. Cassie was smart and likable from the start. Her only weakness was the subject of her tutoring contract and following the rules that applied thereto.

The story is filled with witty banter along with some downright dirty-talking, humor and heart. I expected it to be sexy just from the eye-catching cover – and there was no disappointment. Both protagonists provide their feelings and thoughts through alternating POVs. It’s not a deeply involved angst-filled read, but there are a few bumps in the road. The secondary cast is filled with a group of entertaining characters. Colton’s mom reigns supreme among them. The woman brings the charm and fun times in each scene she visits, and she’s one of the best mom-characters I’ve read. Cassie’s roomie, Sable, is brash and outspoken and I loved her! And Tank (yes, he’s one huge football player) is really a Teddy Bear in disguise who wasn’t as empty-headed as he appeared. And, of course, there’s always that one character you love to hate and Dillon filled the bill.

The Epilogue delivered a delightful closure exceeding my expectations.

The playbook is simple. Hot jock on and off the field falls for the good girl tutor. And so you would expect a standard story line but surprisingly, I found myself devouring this book. Tackled by Sabrina Paige was a quick, fun, sexy read!!!! It definitely had lots of sexy and steamy moments as this hot jock tries get into the older virgin tutor’s pants. Their sexual foreplay of banter was hilarious and sizzling! So if you are looking for a sports romance that will leave a smile on your face, then I would give this book a try.

Woooow!!!!! What an awesome book!!! Picked this one on a whim and I got so hooked that I read it in one sitting!!!!! This is exactly how I like my books: funny, hot, great characters and very little drama! I hate too much drama and this book had only like a couple of pages of misunderstanding so yeah not much drama at all and I loved it, also no cheating or any other cheap cliches!! So yeah this book was PERFECTION!!!! I love it soo much!!!
Loved both the hero and the heroine just wow, they are sooo perfect together and so steamy and funny, also adored all of the other characters, they are so genuine and awesome.
Loved the ending to bits and yeah I am too excited about this book to properly make a review, but this could only mean that the book is brilliant!!!
I think this is my first from this author so yeah you can count me in her fanclub, I am definitely going to read more from her!!!!!
If you want a light, beautiful, funny, steamy, absolutely hot, great characters, drama free, contemporary romance you should READ THIS ONE LIKE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!

There's not a book Sabrina Paige has written that I haven't loved, and Tackled is no exception! I think this one ranks right up there with Prick and Prince Albert as my favorites.

I love the premise of this book- a nerdy Miss Goody-Two-Shoes, who knows nothing about football, is hired to tutor the king of campus, the starring quarterback of the football team. This book lived up to and exceeded all my expectations. I swear Sabrina can write a sexy, playful, fun story like no other- the perfect mix of naughty and nice, hot and sexy, while still having a completely engaging story and utterly appealing characters.

Colton is so over-the-top, but he had me falling hard! Cassie, oh she was such a stubborn fiesty girl! The banter between these 2, the back and forth, the sexual tension...perfection. Colton has zero filter, and the things that came out of his dirty mouth had me squirming in my seat right along with Cassie. I love both of these characters- they are so totally opposite, but so well written that there's no question they are absolutely perfect for each other.

This book had some of the best side characters: Cassie's best friend, Sable, is someone you'd want by your side, sharing life's ups and downs with you; Doreen, Colton's mom- the woman is flat out funny, taking no crap from her boy or his friends; Colton's twin Drew and his girlfriend Beth- even though they weren't a large part of the story they sure made their mark!

Tackled had me swooning, laughing, fanning myself, as Cassie and Colton learned their way around each other. It just makes me so happy when I see Sabrina has a new book coming out- I know I can always count on her stories to put a smile on my face.

I hope we get more sports-related romances from her...if this book is any indication we'll be in for a real treat!

This book contained everything I want in a NA romance.
It had a great chemistry between the MCs, it was really funny to read (Colton’s somewhat, ahem, sexist lines and Cassie’s awesome response to them), it had a strong female h a jerk jock H and plenty, plenty of steaming, hot, sex.
It was also low angst, and had some great secondary characters (this book is a great example of how the “best friend” should be like).

I will definitely re-read sometime soon, and try to find something else as good by this author!

I like this book so much!!! 😍😍😍😍

HAPPY ENDING

CUTE EPILOGUE
NO CHEATING
NO VIOLENCE
NO BAD BREAKUPS
(There’s definitely a separation but I don’t think thats a breakup because they were not really dating at the time like they don’t even say love you)
NO ANNOYING B*TCHES

MANY JEALOUS SCENE FROM THE HERO
Which is very cute!

Even when they weren’t dating, the hero wants the heroine sooo bad and so jealous even think that the heroine is with someone else which she doesn’t. HERO is very protective possessive alpha male and the SMUT SCENE WAS VERY HOT.

THE HEROINE IS A VIRGIN!

Cute and funny story, i like this book!

Cute football story. Sexy Colton needs to bring up his grades and Cassie the virgin tutor has been hired to help. Cassie is strong minded and in graduate school. She is dose not know much about football or Colton King. Lots of hot sex and mind blowing dirty talk. Love love love love love... This is a fast read

This was hot and cute, and I really liked the HEA. It was completely predictable but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The author really has a way of making hot scenes even hotter. Her men are alpha and filthy talking, and sometimes, it's just what I need.

Besides Colton and Cassie, I really liked Sable and Tank too. Loved that everyone got their HEA.
