Jeannette grew up in a large family, number ten out of eleven children, eight of them being older brothers. She quickly developed a great sense of humor, mostly from necessity. One of her greatest joys is sitting on the porch where they were all raised and hearing the stories from years gone by. Quietly laughing to herself, she notices how they embellish the stories more and more each year.

Storytelling was passed down from her grandfather and mother. Jeannette caught the bug at a very young age. If she didn’t have her head in a book, then she was off somewhere with a notebook, jotting down stories of what she would write if one day she became an author. Although the notebook may have vanished, the stories are still vivid and waiting for the right time to be told.

Despite having an amazing family, there have also been some sorrows in her life, including the loss of loved ones. Over the years, Jeannette has spent countless hours volunteering for different organizations and acting as a caregiver to those dearest to her. As a result, supporting the elderly became of utmost importance.

As she approached a milestone birthday in 2015, she decided to take her passion for writing and blend it with her desire to continue to help others. As she writes her stories, she hopes they touch someone’s life. Within the layers of the romance, the foundation remains throughout and is one that is dear to her; make a difference in someone’s life each day!

In 2016 she met someone who encouraged her to push herself even further and try her hand at spicy intrigue. One year later she has four books in this new series and each one pushing her limits just a bit further.

Like the wind, Jeannette’s life changed directions several times over the years, yet one constant remains: her desire to leave this Earth a little better than when she entered it as she tries to live by these words, Make your mark on the world today as your acts of kindness is all anyone will remember in years to come!

Strong, intelligent women should avoid

For anyone whose idea of romance is for a heroine to have their life and independence crushed beneath the will of an egoistic, overbearing arse of a man with no positive quality aside from the fact he's hot, then by God, this book is for those readers.

For anyone who thinks it's sexy for a scorned woman to spread her legs like a cheap slapper for a man who inexplicably dumped her years before - for a man who STILL offers no explanation or apology, then this book will make such readers swoon.

For anyone who finds it romantic for every one of their decisions to be overridden, for their freedom to be disrespected and desires to be ignored, this book will butter their toast.

For me, this book was a steaming heap of misogynistic rot. A woman wrote this rubbish. A freakin woman.
Shame on her.

This hero was such a tw*t, I can't even. It's not like he was unique or even worse than others of his ilk. It's just that I've realised how much I HATE heroes of this type - cold, rich arseholes too entitled (and THICK) to grasp that the sun doesn't rise and set from their arse crack. They have no endearing qualities, nothing that makes them lovable, but are so laden with testosterone they are apparently gods in the sack - which is how they neutralise their prey.
However, their prey are always weak, passive dish rags with no self-respect, who are too stupid to think on their own.
Because no way on this green earth would a respectable, clever and independent woman ever lower herself to letting a controlling goat like Brice into their life. Not once, let alone twice.

I'm supposed to feel something for this prick? Something other than contempt, I mean. This ass didn't want children and when he found out he had one suddenly became 'insta-daddy' and knew how to parent better than the mother who had raised him alone for two years. This 'hero' then threatens to take. the. kid and keep the h out of his life...and not only is that abominable behaviour NOT addressed, I'm expected to like and respect him? I'm expected to understand why the heroine didn't threaten this idiot's manhood with a hedge trimmer? Because, no. To all of that, and to hell with any mum who doesn't lose her shit with anyone who comes in and tries to usurp her position - anyone INCLUDES the so-called father!

If I owned this book in print, I'd use it for bog roll. As far as the person who wrote it? They should apologise - and then find another hobby, ffs.

I got through the first few chapters and was done. I hate books like this. The hero, Brice Henderson, is an obnoxious jerk with no redeeming qualities that I can see. Nothing and no one are more important than his job. When he left his father's business he vowed never to look back. He started his own company, set goals, and became successful. He never lost his drive even though it once cost him his girlfriend, Lena.

Lena was heartbroken three years ago when Brice walked away. She'd been in love and thought he'd felt the same but he chose his work over her. Now, in a strange twist of fate, she's his temporary assistant and nothing's changed.

So Brice is still the jerk who broke her heart, he's still the same self-serving a**hole he was before, but Lena, who is supposed to now be this strong, independent woman who learned from her past mistakes and swears she won't repeat them, is in Brice's arms, returning kiss for kiss, removing her clothes to make mad passionate love with the man who dumped her because he's apparently so irresistible and she, incredibly, suddenly has no will power. GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!

And Brice, who is completely loathsome to everyone, even his own family, makes love to Lena then confesses he's missed having sex with her. That's it. No emotions involved, no "Lena, I've missed you, I never should have walked away." Nope, just a quick roll in the hay -or office. Then he has the nerve to ask her for a repeat performance that night at his place. Of course, Lena is stunned. Really? She didn't see that one coming given the past or his current behavior?

If I'd had an actual book in my hands, at this point, I would've thrown it across the room. I didn't like the characters and while the plot was nothing new, I could easily have enjoyed it if not for the players involved. But tell me, what is there to like about a woman who completely loses all control over her senses with a man who once crushed her by his actions? Wasn't she hurt and humiliated enough the first time? I could see it if the man was remorseful and expressed regrets about what happened but this guy knows what he did to Lena and still insists the job comes first.

Completely disappointed in this one. Nothing much else to say.

I wanted to LOVE this book but it wasn't quite the home run I'd hoped it would be. It has a great solid story and I did love the crossover of characters with those from the author's sisters books. What didn't quite live up to my expectations where the characters. Brice is an ass, plain and simple. He may have a past that has shaped him into that but I just couldn't warm up to him. While I liked Lena, the fact that she doesn't call Brice on his crappy behavior drove me nuts. The other thing that had me a bit crazy was the fact that these two couldn't seem to just sit down and have a conversation. Avoidance on both their parts just made things worse than they needed to be.

As I stated though it does have a good story and because I have enjoyed all the other books from this author I will definitely be reading the next in this series. Hopefully those characters won't have me yelling at the book.

This was my first and last book by this author. I love Ruth Cardello and and I understand this is a part of her series, but this was bad. The editing, bad, the character development, bad. The storyline, weird and goes nowhere. The billionaires father's story, again, weird. And you mean to tell me that he can have Rex investigated and find out everything about his life but doesn't do the same with his girl? The only redeeming quality to this book is Nancy.

This is the story of Brice and Lena. Lena, a single mom who goes to work as a temp personal assistant to Brice, a demanding boss. Lena needs to keep her boss happy so he will write her a good reference in order to find a better job to support her son. Through out the story their pasts come back to play a part in their future.

This series is a spinoff of the Barrington Billionaires by Ruth Cardello. I haven’t read that series and didn’t have any trouble with following this one, but I think some of the characters woven into this story would’ve been more meaningful if I were familiar with Ms Cardello’s series. Regardless, it wasn’t that big of an issue.

This is a pretty typical second chance story. Brice and Lena have a history, a big one, Brice just doesn’t know how big. He and Lena are “reunited” when she takes on the temp position as his personal assistant. She never would’ve taken the job if she knew it was for Brice. Henderson is a common last name. Last she heard he was working with his father, she had no idea he had struck out on his own. She needs this job and the recommendation she’ll get at the end to improve her life. She can do this for a month, right?

The book is interesting, but the characters get a little annoying. Some parts of it could be shortened without missing a beat, other parts seemed rushed, especially the ending. It’s a short and easy read so what was annoying was quickly over. I read it in an evening and it was good entertainment.

There's nothing original about the story plot, I'd come across a number of books with similar story plot before but the genius of Jeanette Winters, she put her own twist on it and it's works.
Overall, I enjoy reading this book, it's well structured, the prose and pace were just right and I didn't come across any typos! But the inner thoughts of the protagonist and antagonist, I found annoying and unnecessary. It kills the sense of mystery; you don't have to bare it all, allows the readers to speculate.

This is book one of Jeannette Winters Barrington Billionaire Series which also coincides with her sister Ruth Cardello's and niece Danielle Stewart's books of the same name and all the books link in with each other.

Meet the ever handsome Brice Henderson who has traded everything for power and success. Brice's company was closing a deal that would cement his place at the top where he likes to be. The one last thing he needed was a very gorgeous distraction from the past.

Entre Lena Razzi who has spent many years trying to forget Brice. When she's offered the opportunity of a lifetime, would Lena take the risk even if it meant the price would be another broken heart?

Can Brice and Lena work through the heartbreak and disappointment they face to have their happy ever after

You will love reading from this world?

This book is available in both the original version and a sweet version.

There should be an option for more than 5 stars as i would definitely give her more but have to settle for 5

Amazing book!

I want to say enjoyed every aspect of this book! All the emotion between Brice and Lena was exciting because you never knew what was going to happen. The part that had me surprised the most was when he saw Nicholas crying and scooped him up and said “daddy’s here” I was like whaattttt!!! I would have never expected that was the way everyone found out that he was that father. The only things I didn’t really like was when it came down to the father we didn’t get a dialog of their conversation at all I was looking forward to finding out what caused all his abuse to his kids and him as a child. Also another part I was disappointed with was the ending I was expecting to at least finish off the book with the family talking and talking about everything, but that didn’t happen at all I was kinda upset about that. Overall though the book was good it was just the most important parts of the book weren’t shown to us the readers. I definitely recommend this book though.

Brice Henderson brutally and abruptly ended his relationship with Lena Razzi when she was about to tell him that she was pregnant with his child. 3 years later, she finds herself temporarily hired as his executive secretary and is determined to keep it professional. Ha!

This dovetails with the other Barrington Billionaire books by Ruth Cardello and Danielle Stewart.

Although I liked this over all, I thought the book stumbled in some places. The first time they "did it" in the office just made me squirm. It was just so.... icky, I guess, because he had no feelings for her at all beyond the physical and she knew it. That said, I struggled, too, with Brice's character. He was such an a****** and never did fully redeem himself IMHO. I liked Lena, liked how she stood up to Brice, but I still think she gave in too easily.

I've read the rest of the series and in looking back at this book, I can see some major foreshadowing happening. Good stuff!

SEXY SECOND CHANCE BILLIONAIRE BABY ROMANCE!

Brice spurned Lena three years ago when his whole world upended and he left his cruel father's company and started his own. He never looked back. Lena was left with heartbreak and a son to raise on her own. Struggling as a single mom has managed to grow Lena up in ways Brice had no clue so when she temps for his assistant, he is drawn to the Lena he loved in the past and attracted to the new Lena she has become. He knows nothing about their child but they both feel the attraction they cannot deny. I love the duel POVs so you can see what is going on in both of their heads. There is some angst but then a HEA. This was a very good book and I would highly recommend it!

Lena Razzi has a secret, and when she is hired to be a temporary executive assistant it is an answer to her prayers and a great opportunity, but finding out that her old boyfriend Brice Henderson is her new boss threatens to expose the secret that she has guarded so closely.

Love Brice and Lena as a couple and this series is really neat. Jeannette makes reading her stories like coming to visit friends you don't see that often and I can't wait to visit them again.

There are three authors working together and writing stories that interact.

I've just finished the Anderson's series and came across this one I started reading as it said there related as in people we've read about are also associated with this series.

Great book!

This book is One White Lie, book 1 of the Barrington Billionaire’s Series, written by Jeanette Winters. This is my first book by Ms Winters and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was trapped from the first page. I love second chance romances and this one was very well written. The characters were relatable and normal flawed humans. What a way to start a new job! Ok folks, I’m headed off for book number two. Ta ta.

Must read!

A wonderful story filled with emotions. You can really feel how the characters are feeling. The flow is nice and it isn't too fast or too slow. Sex was nicely written and not over the top. The storyline focused on the emotional struggle and finding redemption. It was very nice. Very well written. Everyone should give this book a try.

Good story loved the end

In this story the characters made you realize that love matters above all else. I was smiling when Brice realize that love was more important. What he had to go through to get to that point made the story

Beautiful

Lena was raising her son on her own and when a temp job came along that would financially help her she was excited. Brice's assistant needed to take time off, why the need for a temp. Little did they both know the temp was his true love and her son was his. Loved it.

One White Lie Book One

I was often frustrated and disappointed with the hero and heroine, but eventually, love and Nicholas won. I still have many unanswered questions, but l expect they will be answered in the subsequent novels in this series. I'll keep reading.

This is one of the worst books I have ever read ... and I read 250+ books last year so that's saying something. It is bad across every spectrum: the characters are horrible, the hero is a jerk, the heroine is the worst doormat I've ever had the misfortune to get inside the flaky mind of, the prose is all over the place, and there are no details of any kind in any setting whatsoever.

Character viewpoints, current location, random quotes, and inner dialogue all shift and meld together, often in the same paragraph ... seriously, this is a hot mess. I am shocked it has over 3 stars.

The hero's business, which the whole book revolves around, is never explained in any way, all details seem completely made up, the author tries to clumsily introduce some sort of possible danger maybe somewhere from somebody perhaps, and then sort of explains it away vaguely in a sentence that's randomly thrown into internal dialogue, but of course the reader doesn't care by this point because of how awful the entire book is.

The bad guy in the story just sort of expires between one paragraph and the next ... I won't even get into the weird way the author built up toward important conversations and then never bothered to include them, then alluded to them later as being important without telling us what they entailed. What? I've never seen an author sabotage their story so thoroughly and with so little awareness.

Essentially every single iota of the story lacks realism. Even the little boy who is central to the plot rarely appears (no mention of who he is left with when the heroine wanders off to do whatever randomness she is doing) and when he does appear, usually to make the hero look like less of a narcissistic monster, he is a cardboard cut-out of what you might imagine a small child would be if you had never actually been around one.

I rarely leave reviews but stay away from this book. It is just awful.

I was really looking forward to reading this book as I am a huge fan of Ruth Cardello and since the characters from her series crossover into this book I though it would be similar and enjoy the book, however this book sorely disappointed me as it had awful characters and poor writing style. Brice's character was a selfish, entitled, arrogant ass who used his past as an excuse for everything including being a coward and I absolutely could not stand him even though he was an alpha male because his behavior was just cruel and pathetic. Lena's character was just as bad because she had no back bone and she never called Brice out on his bad behavior. She also just let him waltz back into her life like nothing happend and let him treat her like crap. The chemistry between Lena and Brice was average and I did not feel an emotional connection with them. Jeanette writing is average and I could not stand the internal dialogues that the characters were having and I also felt that she skipped through the important parts of the book. Overall this was was poorly written book with awful characters and I will not reading any more books in this series.
