Kindle fire users guide is suppose to replace my current Kindle plus other nice features.
I bought the kindle fire 10mainly to replace my old kindle which is worn out! However I read thru the whole users guide and it does not even mention reading books, writing ratings, let alone how to mark your book as read. I have tried to figure this out on my own and agreeing following the same actions , I did a search of read books listed by author. Half of the ones I tested showed up as read and the other ones dud not. Do you even realize how important this is to the reader? But for it not even to be mentioned in the users guide is inexcusable!
When drawing a comparison with other Kindle Fire publications I have read, this one is better than most. Although grammatical errors would be minimized through the use up an editor. There are also situations where the illustrations and the text are out of sync. Simple things , which if cared for, would make this a more satisfying read. (As of May 2020) A final comment: the publication of a Kindle Fire “how to article” should reference the version and or model that is being covered, so buyers will be better informed.
By that I mean there is little to no information that you cannot find doing a simple search. About a third of the pamphlet contains photos of the fire screen, but no explanations. Another third is taken up by talking about Alexa. Maybe about a paragraph of the entire writing I found new and useful. I just expected more advanced information.
This little book has some very useful advise and it has helped me quite a lot in the use of storing ,using and moving files, also transferring music videos and photos from different appliances like computers etc and in transferring them to a tv screen for larger veiwing like prime video etc.
This book answered most of my questions. It was easy to follow and understand. It helped with stuff I had to ask amazon. However, while I was trying to write this, It kept kicking me out of the review. This is a great book. You should get it now. Ruby
Lots better and more complete than the other user guides I have read. Goes into many more ways to use the Kindle Fire HD 8, most not even mentioned in the other guides. I read the guide on my Kindle Paperwhite while doing the actions on my Kindle Fire HD 8.
Helpful related to showing the reader screenshots so they'll know what they should be seeing on their tablet. Somewhat helpful but not as detailed as the user guide written by Tom and Jenna Edwards.
Basic introduction that is missing critical infomation
It is useful and a quick read. The problem is that it is very basic and omits important information such as instructions on how to install the Google play store.
Easy quick read but I noticed it needs some updating. Some of the features aren't available on the newest versions of the 10. I would text this to anyone just getting started on a fire tablet.
All the very basic stuff that allow you to set up and start using your new kindle fire. Not essential but it can be helpful if this is your first Amazon device.
To be honest I new most of it without consulting the book\kindle Before you buy this book, please give it a few days and it all fits together just like a jigsaw.
Thiis was an excellent book for me. I had bought Kindle Fire for Dummies, but it was for an earlier versiion. There were things on this version I could not find to make them work in the Dummies book.
This manual only had very basic information. Okay for beginners but probably doesn't contain more detailed info for intermediate users especially if you are trying to troubleshoot issues.
Starts well but quality deteriorates in the second half, poor English and grammar. Unfortunately does not answer basic questions such as what books are free with Prime membership and whether these need to be "purchased" at zero cost.
The author gave some pretty useful information, but really needs to have her work proofread. Some of the sentences were hard to understand because of bad grammar, mid-spelling and punctuation. It made me wonder if English was her native language.
Book is helpful with simple, straight forward language. However, the topic which I most wanted and needed was never mentioned and that is instructions for camera. Something about storing photos, etc but nothing about using the camera.
