Somewhere in Russia…

Boris Petrov in his glory days had a career in the Russian secret service but now he is well past his prime and just a bored police officer. Annoyed by obnoxious colleagues and petty crimes he languishes in his filthy office.

An emergency call changes everything. He is the only available officer and he reluctantly takes up the case.

He locates the origin of the emergency call by EMMA in the middle of nowhere. He is greeted by an obscure professor in a secretive building full with high-tech equipment and the darkest secret he could never have imagined even in his wildest fantasies.

But where is Emma and why did she make this emergency call?

Will he find her in time?

This mission turns out to be one of the biggest challenges he has ever met, and it takes him through a lot of blood and gore.

This is a pretty cool book. Very short, very gory, and pretty doggone scary. Hope there is a sequel.

The cover of this book really made it impossible for me to not give this book a read. And from there I then had to find out who or what Emma was. It's a very graphic book, such as a scene where Boris encounters a body hanging without skin, but it is all an integral part of the story, which kept me hooked from the moment I started reading the book. Once I got to the part where I learned who Emma was, I was hooked and could not wait to finish the book. Now I can't wait for the second part of this series to come out, so I can pick up where I left off with Chapter 1. This is a really expressive and suspenseful book that will make you want to read from beginning until end.
