I promise to love, honor, respect and protect you and only you until the end of time; that was the promise that Cari, Wendy and Angela’s husbands made on their wedding day. Smiling from ear to ear those ladies thought they were off to live their fairy tale ending, but little did they know that it was only the beginning of their nightmare once that promise was broken by their husbands, Romeo, Marcus and Justice. What do you do when the one that promised to love and protect, is the one causing you the most pain?
Tywanda Brown-Johnson is an impressive author and publisher. She was born and raised in Newberry South Carolina, where she still resides. This book had promise, but the editing failed. I have never seen 'pulpit' written as 'pool pit'. I should have stopped there. This is the second book I have read by this author - lured by the synopsis, ratings and book cover, I gave it an honest shot, but this went straight downhill just like the other one. Disjointed and trying to tackle a serious subject, this was an embarrassment to the cause. I doubt I'll read anything else by Ms. Brown.
I decided on giving the book three stars because of of two things 1. Grammatical errors words were either the wrong word or missing entirely
2. I did not like how the story itself was organized. Although the author does not need to explain why they did it the way they did I felt like this could have been three stories in one book instead of mixed together like that. It made it very hard to follow in the beginning
This book has a great concept, but is very choppy and not well edited. There aren’t enough details to set the scene and sometimes between one scene and another you don’t actually understand how the characters get there. I think this would have flowed better if each couple had their own chapters, so it wasn’t such a harsh transition between them. This book really put me in my feels bc it reminded me of my Wattpad days.
This book was well-written and brings to light several types of abuse. Each character was well thought out and traveled a major journey. Each character reacted differently and realistically. The topic was handled with care and honest. Read this one to understand the different types of abuse that is mingled and done in our culture.
I have a lot of issues with this book but the main ones are: 1. Needs editing badly, like it's difficult to get through with all the errors 2. There were two many different POVs too early on 3. There wasn't much description, scenery, movement, heavy dialogue up front and felt like floating heads
It was interesting to read both sides of the story & the reasons for characters actions. Minor editing issues. While there were some tragedies involved, this was a good read showing what can happen in scarred relationships & domestic violence.
This book had good storylines, but all the mistakes irritated me. I ignored them the best I could and finished the book, which overall was a good read. I would like to check out more titles by this author.
I chose this rating as all though it is a good book some of it is pretty sexual to be honest it doesn't need it.love how we get both sides from the battered women and the violent husbands. Was a quick read wished it was longer, all in all a good read
The fact that Romeo’s mom had been going through abuse for many years and even lost her life to it shows that even age doesn’t change things when it comes to abuse. Lifestyle nor financial status makes no difference. I loved reading this book.
There was a lot going on in this book. It seems as if no one was safe, which was very sad. One thing's for certain, two things for sure …hurt people will hurt people.
In the end, I wish I could rate this book higher, but there were several errors. Good concept, tho.
The storyline was great. This is for anyone who's in an abusive relationship or anyone who knows someone in an abusive relationship. Love doesn't hurt.
My first read by this author and I felt bad for the women in the story. But Wendy I’m kind of glad she played Marcus the way she did. Justice got his karma.
I love domestic violence books for some reason. My heart felt bad for Wendy.. I didn't think it would end like that for her... Marcus made the coward way out.. I'm happy for Charles though but sad at the same time, a little to late for his mom though......Romeo, all is well, can't believe his stupid father...

This was a good book by Tywanda Brown-Johnson that focused on the subject of domestic violence. I would've gave it the maximum am of stars, but there were too many mistakes. Those mistakes won't stop me from reading other books by her.
Omg this book was awesome. I loved all of the characters and their story lines. It showed how many different types of abuse there are and how people handle it. I loved that we got to see both the women and mens side.
