This was a cute story; it took me a long time to read because it was in Japanese (and I'm easily distracted by other things), but I really liked it. Now, I want to read the original English novel :D.
The second book in my Earithen romance reads (the first being the The Twelve-Month Mistress - see review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...), I chose this book as it promised me a hero with a shorter, cleaner haircut. Well the cover did.
And I was robbed - the hero turned out to be a standard hedgehog mimicking manga lead. But despite this there were some real gems in here and I had a fun time giggling through this. I am not sure that was supposed to happen - but whatever, it was fun.
There were times like when our heroine gazed upon our hero and thought about how sexy he was and mentioned “he’s always clean”. That is the most wonderful but awkward testament to a hero that I’ve ever read. Cleanliness is sexy I suppose.
The story deals with our heroine getting pregnant by her boss but they are not together for some reason I forgot about 2 min after finishing the book. There is a second man who is a sort-of-brother who the hero thinks is a side-lover of our heroine. This seems to be a trope for the manga artist but it could be a coincidence.
Overall, I would recommend this. It was overblown fun and the art was a little less grating than usual for this artist. I am still waiting for a hero with a short haircut though.
