From the very beginning, I felt connected to Matilda’s character—her struggles, dreams, and inner battles were written in such a raw and real way that I couldn’t put the book down. Matilda is not an easy read emotionally, but it’s the kind of story that stays with you. I would recommend it to readers who are ready for something raw and real.

I enjoyed it tremendously, how simple objects, people and situations were beautifully described in just enough details. The Albanian society was accurately portraited, together with its kind, loving but also evil and cold people. The Author does an excellent job, on using and melting both these opposites with each other, to produce a lovely read. You read of the bad doings of this world, in the first part of the sentence and in the second, you are pulled back to a heart-warming thought of a very purely naive young girl.

Matilda is, for me, a presentation of all Women, even all Humans. The way she sees the world, the way she loves, how she does not worry herself and cannot understand the societal norms, because of she was raised. She knows nothing of what is socially acceptable. The book portrays perfectly how we all are a product of our society, we are so conditioned by our environment, that we no longer have our very own original thoughts and desires. Matilda, is however free from these conditions. A curse, or maybe a blessing?!

The intent, behind every character’s action was masterfully explained. You read, you feel anger, compassion, understanding, sadness and love for the story.

The beauty given and described for her main character, works in this book, because of its nature. I was, however, slowly getting tired of it. In addition, continuing reading ‘’Labirintet e Medeas’’, it definitely did not work with that one. It is tiring to read about this god-like beauty the Author, seems to like to portray so much in Women. Mentioned in every other sentence, it can ruin the experience or reading an otherwise greatly written book.
