Connor & Sydney were amazing together, even though there was something like 20 years in between them..
Just to get your imagination flowing - Hot stepdad/daughter romance with a suspense & action & we also find Navy Seals & Mafia. Can’t forget about all the twist & turn in this book.. If you ever read B.B.Hamel books I don’t need to tell you about her hot sex scenes- but for those of you that don’t know how things can get, maybe you should find quiet spot by yourself to read this book… this is definitely A real page turner

Connor is an ex-SEAL who now works private security, he's been recommended to Julia Hall who's in need of both a husband and security. The marriage would be an arrangement with a large financial payoff for Connor at the end of the one or two years. Connor's not too keen on the idea until he sees Julia's nineteen year old daughter Sydney for the first time. This is insta-love, lust and need and Connor is powerless to say no.
Julia is CEO of Rydell Electrics, a company still owned by her father but her brother Evan is trying everything he can to get his hands on the company, he's a desperate man prepared to go to almost any length to get what he wants.
Julia's father has never approved of the fact that Julia is a single mother hence the arranged marriage.
I do like an older man/younger woman read and this has twenty years between Connor and Sydney it also has the Daddy kink as well. It soon becomes apparent that this is so much more than just forbidden sex there's a real attraction between these two.
The main decision for reading this book isn't the plot I know but still it was so crazy and far-fetched that it annoyed me. Julia's attitude, the way she dismissed her brothers behaviour also annoyed me and while I appreciate the twenty year age gap I didn't need to be reminded so often or told 14 times that Sydney has a tight pussy.
I didn't dislike this book and I do like this author but this book just didn't really work for me, too much time was spent on what turned out, for me anyway to be an OTT and unnecessary story taking away from the heart of the book.

This was my first taste of what B.B. Hamel has to offer and I was deliciously surprised. It had so many elements to make it binge-worthy and I enjoyed gobbling up every word.
Drama? ✓
Insanely hot sex? ✓

Even some fast action scenes? ✓
Connor was an ex-navy SEAL now-turned private security. He's used to putting his life on the line, for his country, and for those he's sworn to protect. His latest job? Marry the client to improve her image to her father so she can inherit. When he was about to say no, he caught a glimpse of his soon-to-be stepdaughter and he couldn't resist. His 'yes' gave him the perfect opportunity to secretly pursue Sydney. She was totally off-limits and the risk was high, but Connor thrives in danger. A ton of hot sexiness and daddy pleases made this a quick and dirty read!

Cooper comes to live at Sydney's house as her mother's new husband. She is confused about where this hot older man has come from because all of a sudden here he is & he is marrying her mom & this is the first time Sydney has ever met Cooper. But there is no denying that Cooper & Sydney are immediately attracted to one another even though there are 20-years separating them. They both fight to stay away from one another because Cooper is there to protect Sydney & her mom while Sydney doesn't want to hurt her mom by going behind her back. Eventually Cooper cannot resist his desire for Sydney & goes after her. She is so hot for Cooper but Cooper won't touch her the way she wants to be touch until she calls him daddy. After having Sydney once, Cooper tries to do the right thing & do his job first instead of lusting after the young 19-year old Sydney. When things between Sydney's mom & uncle escalate Cooper decides he is going to go after what he wants & to save Sydney & her mom at the same time. Will Cooper be able to save Sydney from her uncle? Will Cooper end up with Sydney like he wants? Do Sydney & Cooper stand a chance at a future even with their age differences?
I truly enjoy reading B.B. Hamel's dark romances & this one was another winner for me. She has a way of sucking you in & keeping the tension going just enough that I don't want to put the book down until it's done. I personally don't get to hung up on any of the taboo subjects & B.B. likes to write about the darker side of things so reader beware. Once again, we have a dominate alpha male & a young innocent woman who fall in love with one another while they slowly change each other into better version of themselves. This book is meant for mature readers.

Somebody send help....I can't get out of this book hole I'm in.
This one was just okay. I wish it had been more relationship based instead of focusing so much on the drama. It's a daddy/stepdaughter kink which isn't my thing really but if you like that then you will enjoy this book.
There isn't too much steam seeing as its a short story, so that was surprising. Everything was wrapped up pretty quickly in the end with a nice big unbelievable bow. :)
On to the next!

1-Stars! ☆
This was bad. I love taboo stories. My disappointment is not with the taboo element, but more with the writing of the story. The writing was bad and the plot made no sense to me. I kept asking myself ‘why?’
Sydney is f#%ked up in the head. I have daddy fantasies but even I don’t think her thoughts. Connor the step-daddy is an ex navy seal and the author does not let you forget it.
The whole plot seemed far fetched. Made up even. And, yes, I know this is a romance book, hence everything is made up. It just seemed unrealistic.
All the books in this daddy series use the same line, “show her what a real man can do to her.” Really-? Just because she is half your age, means your going to give her the best f#%king known to mankind’s existence?! Haha most likely not.

I really enjoyed this book and my only complaint is the fact that it's stated a hundred fucking times that the hero is 20 years older than the heroine. Okay I get it, he's older than her, but fuck, you don't need to beat it too death. Connor is a retired Navy Seal who now owns and operates his own private security firm. His client is Julia Hall, CEO of Rydell Electric, her father is dying of cancer and her younger brother is itching to steal her position in the company. Julia wants to marry Connor (in name only) so that she will appear more responsible in her father's eyes. Her father has never forgiven her for getting pregnant out of wedlock when she was 18. She offers Connor one million dollars to marry her and he's hellbent on saying no until he meets her 19 year old daughter, Sydney. He doesn't want to be attracted to his stepdaughter but it's very hard to fight it especially when she looks at him like she does. Sydney is shocked when her mom announces she's marrying Connor and she knows something isn't right with the marriage. She tries to fight her feelings for Connor but it soon becomes impossible to do.

This was one of the steamiest books by B.B. Hamel and I really enjoyed it. It had a great plot, even better sex & great twists.
Connor gets a very unusual offer which he is about to refuse when Julia's daughter Sydney walks in the room. At that moment he knows he will say yes to anything as long as he can see Sydney again, even if that means he's about to become her new step daddy.
Sydneys mother has her reasons why she needs this fake marriage to pan out. Sydney is instantly attracted to Connor and try's to stop it but, she quickly realizes she can't.
When unexpected problems come up Connor knows there's nothing he won't do to protect Sydney.

Don't let the name of this book or the synapse fool you... this is a great story. And thankfully it isn't just erotic there is an actual story line.

Fantastic story! I couldn't put it down.

Someone is out there trying to make sure that she isn't running it. They have a marriage of convenience. It doesn't stop him from noticing his stepdaughter. They have a chemistry that they try to ignore but can't. Sydney knows something is not right with her mother's new marriage. She also can't seem to stop wanting Connor. Will they be able to make things work out for them?

When I first read the summary for this book I was a little taken back. Who in their right mind would write about a Stepfather falling for his stepdaughter....... But after reading it. I have to say it as AMAZING!!!!!!! Of course picturing Dylan as Connor didn't make it all bad either. ;-)

A hot mix of suspense, forbidden lust and obsession. I loved it!
Written in double POV and a brisk style, this story combines a mature man falling for a sweet and sexy young woman while pretending to be her stepfather as a job. The setup is exciting and it works well because it adds a layer of deceit and danger to the provocative closeness to the temptation off the flesh.
Connor is an ex-SEAL and Sydney is trying to find herself, I liked both characters. He's immediately fascinated by her, and she tries to resist the forbidden pull. I think that is very enticing, There are a lot of scenes of contained hunger before they breach the gap of propriety, which gave way to them getting to know each other better. Though when they break the rules, wow, it's an inferno of lust!
Also,there's danger lurking behind the pact Connor has made. That kept things more interesting.
I was really eager for the steamy parts because they're rough and sweaty and and dirty and oh so good :-D
Even more, it was nice when both characters realize that they have unrelenting, deep feelings for each other. Before they get their big HEA,they fight through fear and blood. The story has a double ending, one strong and one romantic. It was more than I imagined and I enjoyed it a lot.

There is something magical about reading and writing stories about a taboo subject like this one. It was handled beautifully and masterfully. The characters and story were gritty, naughty, real, raw, compelling, complex, bold, rich, and thoughtful too. I look forward to my next adventure with this author.

Imo when I read books like this, I try to think logically instead morally. Age only matters if maturity and independence plays a strong part in the scenario. Like the fact that Sydney is nineteen isn't the problem, it's her immaturity and lack of experience in life and having your own that makes her a prey for older men. It's not even that Connor is twenty years older than her, it's more how he should guide her more towards independence, and having more she can accomplish in life on her own and still have a loving stable relationship. Most girls her age or mature in body but clueless to their full potential and what they can achieve. Older men especially that much older isn't in it for unconditional love. It's about control and ego and it's not hard to manipulate and posses someone who doesn't know their strengths yet or their real power. But some young girls like that rough, possessive daddy figure type, because as you see she doesn't have one and that protectiveness she's attracted to. In between all the mental manipulation and physical gratification real affection and passion can grow into real love. But if alot of the things that brought Syd and Connor together was never a factor there relationship wouldn't be longterm at all. But thank goodness this is fiction and fairytale because those scenarios are much better than the Hugh Hefner complex most of those middle aged men in their prime are don't turn out so wonderful and forever. I always enjoy this authors writing, can't wait to read more In the near future!

rcvd an advanced reader copy for voluntarily providing a review. we meet connor, ex military turned security, who is called to meet with a woman, Julia about a job. but its not the job he thinks it is. Julias proposition is for him to marry her for a large sum of money. connor has no idea what to think bc he doesn't to relationships abd thats perfect for her. Julia needs her dads approval for inheriting the business as he is dying. connor is about to say no when a gorgeous girl walks into the room who happens to be her daughter....that sealed the deal. sydney is awe struck by the hottest man alive in her kitchen and her girly bits are doing a happy dance. next thing she knows her mom is getting married...to connor. talk about complications. connor has a hard time keepjng his composure around sydney especially when shes walking around in a bikini and sydney is hot for her step daddy. one afternoon connor has had it and jumps at the chance to kiss her. whoa is me!! Sydney doesn't know what to think abd connor cant stay away even with julias warning that Sydney is off limits. one kiss leads to a "nightcap" and all bets are off. threats are given towards the family and Julia knows its her brother but doesnt think anything of it...but connor doesn't agree. the threats have taken a turn for the worse...with video and pictures of connor n sydney. will the truth come out? will they be safe? will julia find out about her husband and daughter? drama ensures...

Julia feels that her dad has a negative opinion of her since she is unmarried and is a single mom. Her plan is to hire Connor to marry her to present a prettier picture. Just as Connor is about to turn her proposal down, in walks Sydney, Julia's gorgeous 19 year old daughter. Connor will do anything to get closer to Sydney so he agree to marry Julia.
Sydney is having very naughty thoughts about her step-dad, It also seems clear that he shares in the thoughts. However she doesn't want to ruin her mom's marriage and tries to treat Conner like her step-dad. Connor has plans for Sydney which are nowhere even close to fatherly. She can call him daddy though. Their connection gets hotter and hotter while the rivalry between Julia and her brother gets more dangerous. Will Sydney's daddy be able to keep her safe?

I loved this this story of ex-SEAL-turned-security-guy Connor and his stepdaughter Sydney. The prologue was so hot, it pulled me into the rest of the book. The instant connection between Connor and Sydney seals his willingness to take on his new, matrimonial assignment. It was fun to see Sydney's confused reaction to the flirty banter (you've already read the Prologue, you know what's gonna happen!), and how much pleasure Connor took in teasing Sydney. At 20 years her senior, he proves he knows what he's doing...over and over. The guts of the plot aren't mentioned in the blurb so I'm trying not to add spoilers. Connor is hired for a reason, which becomes increasingly clear and necessary over the course of the book. There's a good bit of alpha action near the end, reminding of of the author's City/Barone series. I would have liked to have known more about the backstory of the secondary characters but only because I am nosy like that. Didn't interfere with my enjoyment at all! Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend this book!

I really like Sydney and Conner's story. Sydney is the 19-year old daughter of a CEO who is trying to gain full ownership of the company her dying father owns. To get in her father's good graces, Sydney's mother, Jessica asks Conner to enter into a business agreement to marry her and pretend they are in love. Conner is an ex-SEAL who has his own security company and doesn't do emotion. Jessica believes he's perfect for the job. The reason Conner agrees to marry Jessica is Sydney.
I like how Conner and Sydney meet, get to know each other rather quickly and then, the awkwardness of a socially unacceptable relationship begins. It creates a lot of heat and frustration.
The other element to the story is the growing danger against all of them. Jessica's brother wants the father's company for himself and is willing to do anything to get it. Conner now needs to protect both his wife and step-daughter. This puts a strain on everyone as does the forbidden relationship between Sydney and Conner.
I recommend this book for the love story and for the suspense. I wouldn't nessarily classify this story as taboo because Sydney is an adult and has never been "parented" by Conner, except for when he tells her to call him Daddy in private. Technically, however, the story is about a taboo relationship. I would have liked more show of possessiveness from Conner towards Sydney and more detail of how Conner goes from married to Jessica to being with Sydney in a HEA.

Some good and some very good
This book contains 3 stories and I range them: 4,5,4 so I concluded with a 5 star read, but it's not a very strong five star.
I can't put my finger on what made me give the first and the last story only four stars, it's just my feelings. Not often I can't put in to words why, but that's how it is!
The writing style is easygoing and full of dialogues so reading this book was no hardship.
There is no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and sometimes I felt like maybe it SHOULD have been a little more of that. But it did not bother me.
What I expected when I started reading was what I got for the most part. What I didn't expect was to enjoy this book as much as I did. I knew this book would be full of mature content and dirty talking and I sometimes think it's to much if the author don't know how to balance it. This author, in my opinion do know the balance (for me). It might be to little or to much for someone else.
If you like a easy read with dirty talking alpha males then you must read this.

Excellent purchase - three books for the price of one. Connor is a former SEAL, now working in the private security world. When he gets a call from Julia Hall, he is expecting a security job, but instead she asks him to marry her for a period of approximately two years for a million dollar payout. He has no intention of accepting her offer until he sees her teenage daughter and is immediately drawn to her.
This story gives you mystery, secrets, lies and lots of sexy times. Although she tries to ignore her desires for her mother's new husband, Sydney can't seem to stay away from him. She flaunts her body in a bikini on a daily basis until Connor can't avoid her any longer. Sneaking around behind her mother's back is hard for Sydney to do since they were always very open with each other, but her hormones make the decision for her. Well worth the time and money to read.

Holy hot read from B.B. Hamel!! When Connor gets his latest job the last thing he expected was Sydney. Connor is a former SEAL and now has his own security business and the latest client has an unusual request, pose as married in order for her to get the company she has given everything to. Julia Hall needs Connor as a means to an end and he agrees because one look at her daughter, Sydney, and he agrees to get closer to her. Sydney has been coasting for the last year not knowing what she wants to do with her life and never expected the instant attraction she feels to her new stepdad, Connor. The fireworks explode between Connor and Sydney and neither can deny themselves the other. With the danger surrounding Julia and her family coming closer every day Connor realizes he will stop at nothing to keep Sydney and her mother safe. A great read from B.B. Hamel.
