Después de toda la acción y cambios de los tomos anteriores tenemos un tomo con un ritmo mucho más tranquilo que sirve para dos cosas, la primera como un respiro para la acción que parece que se avecina en relación con Benio, el torneo y la misión de Yuto y dos para presentarnos y profundizar con nuevos personajes en especial con Arima y su hijo con los que se entablo las bases de su relación que se siente sera importante para la historia

Twin Star Exorcists decides that we need a tournament arc for funsies, and for Rokuro to go to high school and do stuff. Everyone is as transparent as ever and we just keep hitting cliche after cliche after shonen battle trope. Oh well, let's see if the tournament arc is exciting. So far battles have been big flashy powers with no real strategy or complexity to them, maybe with every single character we know being an underdog we'll get some actual smart fights? I bet not but I can hope!

I liked how this is the start of the massive tournament between the families!
And how Rokuro gets shat on for only being famous on the mainland, when he's actually really low ranking compared to those on the island. I loved the battle scenes, although in manga it's a little hard to keep track of.

This was a sweet volume, oddly enough. Alice and Rokuro's budding friendship was really endearing, especially after Rokuro told Arima, Alice's father and the MOST POWERFUL EXORCIST, "Don't talk like that to my boy!" Rokuro has absolutely no filter and no chill and I LOVE IT. I'm curious to see how Alice is going to develop as an exorcist and as a person. Also, Rokuro's new friends making the new family crest made my heart swell, especially since Benio was included in it. Speaking of Benio...

I am so DAMN PROUD of my girl. Even when thrown into the greatest depths of despair, she still strives to live and get stronger. Her interactions with Kamui were interesting and it makes me wonder what his end goal is as well as what his role in this series is. While it breaks my heart to watch her suffer, considering she's frankly dealing with worse shit than Rokuro, I'm relieved that her determination and passion hasn't crushed her hope or fighting spirit. I also want to add that while it often annoys me when female characters are driven because of male lead, I am more lenient in Benio's case because while Rokuro is her main source of inspiration, she's made it clear in the past that he AND her dream to end the Kegare War are what drive her. It's easy to say she's more focused on Rokuro than others and I can't fault others for having qualms with that, but it honestly doesn't bother me especially when it's clear that his future with Benio is what drives Rokuro. I do love this couple so, so much...

This was a great volume that also ended with the greatest cliffhanger ever...

TOURNAMENT ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRC! So hyped for the next volume, I can't wait!

Not a lot of action, and Benio is absent for most of the volume. I am a little more curious about her fate right now than Enmado's. Several new characters are added, and it doesn't seem like there will be any dragging out of Enmado's training. (Which I'm disappointed about--I would have enjoyed reading a bit about the training, just to get more understanding about exorcist powers. But maybe next volume will flashback...)
