When My Shift Ends

Rate this book
When cynical former beauty pageant queen, Ellie Wilde, hears of her grandmother's sickness, she's the first to offer to drive her to her chemotherapy. What she didn't know she was agreeing to was an obnoxiously cheerful blond boy somehow nudging his way into her life.

This book made me cry, and I don't like that. The plot twist hurt my heart, which I also didn't like. BUT, the story was way too cute for me not to give it 3.5 stars.

Oml was this an emotional rollercoaster. (In a good way, of course).
Ehem. I feel a bit betrayed because of how it ended, and that... (not gonna spoil it, sorry) So yeah, I'm happy with this, just a feeling a bit weird because I'm not entirely sure what's real and what's not in the story right now. The ending was so unexpected, and even though I think I'm not particularly ecstatic with how everything turned out, I understand Brit (the author)'s point of view. In the end, it was still her story and how she decided it to turn out was her choice.

Regardless of me feeling a tad bit weird with the ending, I still loved this story so so so much. It was honestly such an amazing read and if you ask me, I'm definitely going to reread this in the future. Taking that long-ish hiatus from Wattpad and finally going back to it has made me see how toxic most of the people in the comment sections are though. Eck. Too many people take things too personal and refuse to see the story from another person's pov.

Anyway, moving on from that, I have to say that I'm obsessed with everything that happened before the last chapter. And even though the sweet, cute, adorable, #relationship-goals interactions between Ellie and Cooper may not even be , in my mind, whatever happened before the last chapter is real to me. Ughh, it's been too long since I've read a tear-jerker. Where the hell are my tissues at?

AHHHHHSHEVWJWBJWJWWB😭😭😭

Long Life To Cooper And Ellie ❤️

Read this book weeks ago and I am still reeling over the ending. The author has such a wonderful way with words and even though this is told in third person, that detail is irrelevant. The characters are memorable and just all equally great—even the ones I didn’t like! This book is definitely one of my favorites and will go down as one of the few books that have left an impact on my life. I will say...this book is not for everyone (depending what you’re expecting) and that if you decide to read it, read it with an open mind.

I loved reading this book. The style of writing was really nice. The author did a lot of research on the topic of cancer, and I really liked that plot twist. This book is an emotional roller coaster, and I totally recommend it.

i loved this book. made me laugh, made me cry, all the emotions haha. the plot twist made me very confused and i think it could’ve been better without it? or if the author kinda continued the story a bit more afterword. regardless it was a great story and i finished it in 2 hours ish.

This was a really heartwarming book, and there were so many feels. I feel disappointed that the majority of the story was an illusion, however it ended well, so all's well that ends well. If you like slice of life, books about people with cancer and romance, this is for you.

wow, this book was just breathtaking, the writing, amazing and i cried and laughed and my heart broke over and over. I’m deeply saddened by the fact that Cooper and Ellie’s story is over, yet i will forever hold them in my heart for they made a deep impact. Love this book, and will most likely pick it up again soon because i can’t get enough of it
