Enjoyable short story about some frightened kids at camp who think a man is watching them. When the sheriff (Kateri Kwinault) comes to investigate she tells them a story about the Frog God.
Since the story was so short (33 pages) I don't want to give too much of the plot away, but there were some chilling moments as Kateri told the tale around the campfire. The Frog God story was fascinating.
This is the first book/novella I've read by Christina Dodd and I found it to be a compelling read with a good setting, the camp at night.

This one was creepy, scary, and eerie, yet very intriguing.
It was a short story about the tale of the Frog God, and oh, reading this gave me goosebumps all over! The more I learned about the Frog God, the harder it was to ignore the creeping feeling of unease I felt.
Due to the book’s short length, it’s difficult to write a review without giving the story all away. So, I’ll have to leave it at that.
All in all, this was a fast-paced and enjoyable read. Fans of Virtue Falls series shouldn’t miss out on this one.

This is a super short story, which is a part of the Virtue Falls series. I received a copy of this book from the very generous author who shared it with her newsletter subscribers.
I enjoyed the story of the Frog God, which is explained in greater detail for those wondering about Kateri’s power.
The story is told around a campfire, which is the perfect setting for such a tale. It’s an interesting short story, which will only take a few minutes to read, but it would make a nice lunch break diversion.

I loved visiting Virtue Falls once again with Sheriff Kateri Kwinault. I found Kateri's story of the Frog God to be quite enlightening as I have read the previous Virtue Falls books and wondered about the legend. It is quite spooky and I hope that Kateri continues to protect the children.

Now who doesn't both like and yet be scared to the bone with listening to intense ghostly stories around a roaring campfire in the still of the night? Well you get a whopper of a Native American one in this great short story. Even the author Joseph Campbell who was a professor of literature at Sarah Lawrence College who worked in comparative mythology would have loved this story.

Kateri is the perfect storyteller. After her survival experience during a tsunami, Kateri is the perfect person to tell the story of the Frog God. This novella reminded me of the Girl Scout days sitting around the campfire and getting told ghost stories. Who wants to go to sleep after that? You never know who is watching.

Kateri is a believable and likeable protagonist and her story is woven thru the series of virtue falls. Hope the frog God doesn't get her. I intend to read every book in the weirs and look forward to pleasure.

Great set up for the Virtue Falls series. I like how it focuses on Kateri and provides more back information on her experience(s). I haven't read all the books, yet this one answers questions the other Virtue Falls books haven't. It was so good that I wished there was more. An intro for another book?

Great Story
I love Christina Dodd books. The Watcher fills in a little corner of the Virtue Falls stories. Like all of Ms. Dodd's books, it's easy reading, very well written and has humor. You feel like you are walking beside her characters as the story unwinds.

What a great lead in book for a series. It was gripping to be drawn into the American Indian gods beliefs. It can and did lead me down a scary path. Book gifted to me.

I liked this short story, I enjoyed reading this mystery story. I can't wait to pick up the next Virtue Falls book. I like the sheriff and all she is involved with.

Wow, what a great story. Now I must go to book one of Virtue Falls and find out all about it. I enjoy storytelling and Katari from Virtue Falls tells one great story to a bunch of scared teenage campers. "WooWoo" (as noted in Virtue Falls) at its finest. Great respect for the gods we may never understand but honor anyway.
