We all want to be happy; that’s a given. So why aren’t we? The answer is generally pretty What we say we want and what we do are two very different things. I grew up in a small town in Texas that is a little bit like my fictional town of Kickapoo in my novels. Okay, it's a lot like it. I'm a "write what you know" woman, which was easier than what I did on the first three unpublished novels I wrote.
And, let's just be honest here, it was therapy for me. That's right. The mystery novels were my therapy books, not the actual self-therapy books I've written. It will make perfect sense after you read the novels.
Because really, think of how therapeutic it is to have the power to go back to your childhood and teenage years and avenge your traumas. Seriously, you can go back and kill anyone who ever did you wrong. It's a nice theory, but that's the therapy part. Once I started writing and seeing things a bit differently, I really didn't need to do what I thought I did. Oh, don't get me wrong, people die, but not always the ones I set out to "get."
My fictional alter ego did parallel my own life in that she moved from Texas to Colorado and did not like the idea of ever going back to her hometown--or her mother. I lived most of my adult life in Colorado, about 20 years, lived for a year in Missouri during my divorce and have been in Arkansas for about eight now.
Life took zigs and zags, and sometimes it seemed not so great, but looking back, it was absolutely perfect. And now, I am truly living the life I love!
With due respect to the author, there is basically one single TIP in all 15 tips - you are responsible for your own destiny. Repeated multiple times in different words. Although that's a sane advice, no need to write a book and publish it on kindle.
A pretty simple, concise reality check on how one must think, behave and do things to actually have control of things in life and move forward a bit more effectively in the present circumstance. A 15 minute read to boost your ways of thinking, this is definitely what you need to read when you feel like you have nothing to read, want to include more books into your read-list, or want to just get a splurge of basic knowledge that we tend to forget in the monotonous rut. This book is brutal, honest and hits the right spot.
Its a good book to read in a very short period of time. It shows you the practical tips and hidden motives of being happy in a life. Implementation those things should have been given more focus by the author. Because nowadays each and every self improvement book in the market talks about improving your lives but very few on how to apply those things.
A very quick read with really helpful content and use of bosker language make it much more honest and genuine. I believe there is no distortion in the tips which are given to improve your day to day life struggle, if you take it as more germane it will help you to find ways that are not hard to pretend but very easy and simple to grow.
Though it is short it is impactful. Each tip will make you connect think and really improves 🙂 i would suggest it becoz it will not consume a lot of time while u read but it will when u start thinking 🙂and as every one knows change starts with a thought (with new information / with a new way of looking at things)🙂🙂
