Wonderful first book on Japan! Still hope to get there one day - think I would really like to travel by train and see some of the smaller towns. I almost signed up to teach English there years ago; I often wonder what it would have been like if I had decided to go through with it.
This book was good to see more about Japan, like information about their schools and how children have to clean their own classrooms. The book was informative, but I felt like it skipped over important history, like information about the Atomic Bomb, which wasn't included in the timeline. It was only shown in parts like the memorials.
