3.5 stars. Low angst/drama quickie with plenty of sexy packed in. Not much of a story or development but it did well with its real estate. There are some secret feelings between Lizzy and Vain and we happen to come right on time for the big reveal. Frankly, it's a bit anticlimactic. However, it opens up the relationship for intimacy. And there was plenty of climaxing there (see what I did there? Lol)
Separately, I think Lizzy had some growing up to do and Vain I didn't know enough about. Together, they burn up the sheets well enough but nothing screams forever for me. Still, all in all a nice little worry-free treat between books.
Safety: Heroine dates while away from "the club". No sex. Hero is not a virgin but remains celibate after falling for h. No rape or abuse.

Biker smut that is free from cheating and OW/OM drama (practically unheard of in biker stories)
They had never expressed their feelings to one another yet were celibate during their 2 year separation. Short and smutty!
I didn't read book one and didn't feel like I was missing anything.
**was disappointed in the epilogue - didn't give us enough of a look into the future.

This is the second book in the Death's Door MC series by Jenika Snow. Lizzy was 19 years old when she left the Death's Door MC and her older brother, Ace who is the club's Vice President. She told Ace she didn't want to live the club life anymore so she left but really she was in love with Vain, one of the MC members. Vain loved Lizzy too but neither one of them had the courage to tell the other of their feelings. It's now two years later and Vain is thrilled to hear that Lizzy is coming back home. He may have kept his feelings to himself before but this time he's determined to claim Lizzy as his.

The Death's Door MC Series just keeps getting hotter with this second standalone novella. TAKING HER HARD was scorching! The reaction of Vain when he saw Lizzy again , whom he had loved silently from the start, was explosive! And everything just spelled sexy from then on. I loved their individual struggles until they found their strength from each other! This was a good read!

Yet again this is a hot, steamy, quick MC story and exactly what I wanted this time of year.
It's far from perfect. They be exchanging ILY's before they've even done the deed...or spent any meaningful time together.

As with Book 1, a lot of sex, a little love story, and virtually no romance. Not unreasonable when the biker hasn't gotten laid in two years 🤣 At least it wasn't as bad as poor Torque in book 1 who suffered four years of self-imposed celibacy. 😖

This is entertaining and romantic. The characters likable are hot and the storyline is interesting. Once I started reading it, I had a hard time putting it down.

Running from a hot man

Sigh, this book is like jumping on a moving train. I don't know, there's nothing to dislike except it felt like there was a large part of the story missing.
