Gansett Island is one of my happy places and Episodes #1 is a great addition, treating us to a little more from the islands well-known and beloved residents—in this case the islands midwife, Victoria and her Irish beau, Shannon—who don’t really warrant a full length story, yet have a little more to tell than as secondary characters.

“When we’re together, Victoria, there’s no one else but you.”

For any lover of the series, this is a heartfelt, albeit shorter visit that’s pretty much the HEA for those who’ve found their HEA.

“Hop on and hold on as tight as you can.”

Five Newborn Stars

First I never get tired of reading about the inhabitants of Gansett Island. Second if I didn't know any better I would said there was a full moon, the way all these babies are cropping up.

Yay for Shannon, it takes a strong man to admit he needs help. Love it!

Well done!

Another winner! I'm so glad the author decided to do these shorter stories to keep her readers up to date on the people of Gansett Island. It's a series I would hate to see end.

For those of you readers who are hooked on life on Gansett Island, you are going to be happy to know that this trip is just as insightful and engaging as a full novel. I don't know how Marie does it after so many wonderful voyages to our favorite island, but she hasn't lost the spark to this series one bit.

Shannon and Victoria have hit a snag in their seemingly smooth, happy relationship. Victoria has had a chance to look beyond the surface of their day to day romance and is wondering of she will ever really get to the heart of Shannon. He's holding a part of him back and it's become clear to her she may never get to know that part of him.

Victoria kept quite busy as the island has a growth spurt thanks to some favorite islander couples!! Emotion and happiness abounds while Victoria sees what she's longing for. Connection and roots.

This novella was packed full of emotion and completely entertaining. I swear I blinked and my trip was over. Great read that has the perfect background for a mini vacation. I am going to love these novella length check ins of our favorite island inhabitants. Marie has a way of capturing her readers with spell bounding tales of the fluidity of each relationships among our beloved Gansett Island residents.

I'm booking my room at the Sand & Surf Hotel!! I'll meet you at the Tiki Bar.

Happy Reading~ Sherry

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

If you have ever read a Gansett Island book, then you will surely enjoy this - we get to see some old friends, and also get to find out whether these two people really can find their HEA.

The majority of the story takes place over a brief period of time, and it flows beautifully. Victoria asks Shannon's cousin Seamus if he can help her understand why Shannon is so reluctant to commit. What she discovers is quite shocking, and as things unfold life may well never be the same again.

Whilst Victoria feels her personal life is unravelling, her job suddenly becomes very busy. A flurry of new arrivals mean that she has to wait to talk with Shannon, but he realises there is a problem. As we get the story from both sides, we can only hold our breath and hope that all will work out - and carve out the time to keep reading until we find out!

Very engaging and well paced story that acts as a lovely return visit to the island and its very appealing inhabitants. I cannot wait to read more in this new run of tales.

This was a short novella about Shannon and Victoria. I absolutely loved it, would have but would have been even better if it was a full novel. Looking forward to Chelsea and Kevin’s book now. Loved the baby boom. What a great Daddy Blaine was to Adeline.

Victoria & Shannon's story is the first book in Marie Forces's new Gansett Island Episodes which is a novella series that focuses on some of the characters readers have met in previous Gansett Island books. The new episodes will be shorter stories about some of the past characters that we have come to know and love but always want more of. These new episodes will also focus on characters that we've always wanted to know more about but who haven't been highlighted in past books! In Episode 1 we get to know Victoria Stevens the islands Certified Nurse Midwife and her boyfriend Shannon O'Grady.

Victoria came to Gansett Island intending to spend about a year gaining some experience as a Certified Nurse Midwife. Little did she know that Gansett Island would work it's special magic on her and she would soon realize that the island had become her home. She loves her profession and the challenge of providing prenatal care to the women on the island. Together nearly a year, Victoria has also come to love her boyfriend Shannon O'Grady. Although her physical relationship with Shannon has been wonderful, lately she feels that it lacks the kind of true intimacy she craves. Due to his refusal to talk about his past life in Ireland and his intention to keep their relationship light rather than allow it to become serious, Victoria comes to the realization that she doesn't really know Shannon any better than the day they met one year ago. Their relationship may seem perfect on the surface but it's foundation is shaky. Determined to find out the answers to Shannon's past Victoria turns to his cousin Seamus for answers. What she discovers will turn her whole world upside down and have her wishing she had left well enough alone! Part of her wants to hold Shannon and love him even if he's not capable of giving her more but Victoria is determined not to settle for less.

Nine years ago Shannon O'Grady suffered an unimaginable tragedy that left him feeling like a shell of the man he'd once been. He had come to Gansett Island with his Aunt Nora to visit his cousin Seamus. What he hadn't expected was to meet the wonderful, always joyful and very sexy Victoria Stevens and to stay on Gansett Island when his Aunt Nora left to go home to Ireland two weeks later. Almost one year later, he loves his job and the life he's found on Gansett Island. After a year on the island he's also come to the realization that Gansett feels like home in a way that Ireland hadn't since his life took a tragic turn. He hadn't planned on staying but after 2 weeks with Victoria he hadn't been ready to leave her. One year later he still wasn't ready to leave her! After suffering through tragedy, he had been determined to never become involved again. He thought his plan was working until he met Victoria and Gansett Island. Since meeting Victoria his life has been so much better and his dark moods appear less often. He admires Victoria and is grateful that she doesn't push him for more than he was capable of giving. Little did he know that after Victoria talks to Seamus that was all about to change. He soon discovers that Victoria has scaled all the walls he had built around his heart to protect himself and that she has become his home! Shannon fears that he may have pushed Victoria away for good and that his realizations may have come too late! Has he lost Victoria or can he still win her back?

Victoria & Shannon's story was an excellent start to Marie Force's Gansett Island Episodes! I loved getting to know them and enjoyed reading about how they were able to overcome the many obstacles in their way to find their "fairy tale" ending! In this episode we get a chance to visit with many other beloved Gansett Island characters. We also get to welcome three new babies to Gansett! All three mothers had to overcome their own personal tragedies and challenges to find true happiness. Reading about their birthing experience, the overwhelmed and emotional dads, and seeing them all so happy in welcoming their new little ones into the world was truly special.

Once again Marie Force has written another amazing Gansett Island story. I always enjoy having the chance to visit with some of my favorite characters from Gansett! With these new Episodes I look forward to making the trip to Gansett more often. I'm looking forward to Episode 2 which will be Kevin & Chelsea's story. I can't wait! Thank you Marie for sharing your remarkable talent with your fans! As always I am anxiously awaiting your next release! I hope you have a wonderful time in Ireland!💕

Victoria and Shannon is the first book in the Gansett Island Episodes by author Marie Force. The well-paced 106- page novella focusses on two secondary characters from the author’s Gansett Island series and takes place over a four-day period.
Victoria’s story appealed to me and drew me into the story immediately. Working as a Nurse Midwife, Victoria witnesses couples becoming families with the birth of their child. She sees how her patients work together and support each other through pregnancy and childbirth. She’s been dating Shannon for a year—and she longs for her happily ever after, too. Victoria asks Seamus, Shannon’s cousin, if he knows why Shannon can’t move forward. Seamus tells Victoria about Shannon’s past and she’s not sure how to approach Shannon with the information.
Victoria walks into a busy morning at the clinic-there are two Island moms in labor! She doesn’t have a minute to think about her problems as these moms are keeping her busy! Victoria doesn’t have a chance to talk to Shannon because of the surprise arrival of Gansett baby three. He finds out by accident and is not pleased. He knows he is stuck in the past but doesn’t know how to move forward. I emphasized with Shannon, his past was tragic, but was surprised that he didn’t relate his story to Victoria.
I enjoyed that the author wove in a total of three couples and their stories into this novella. It was great fun catching up with the characters and Victoria’s experience with one couple moved me to tears. I loved the couple’s book and was thrilled that they got their HEA! Several other much loved characters provided support to Victoria and Shannon and added to the fast- paced storyline. I enjoyed this short story and my ferry ride over to Gansett Island. Victoria and Shannon’s story is a poignant story about friendship, community, faith and love. The ending of this book was beautifully written and perfect for Victoria and Shannon.
Looking forward to the next full length Gansett novel and Episode 2!

Victoria, the island's Certified Nurse Midwife, wants the "fairytale". Although she's happy that her friends have found their HEA, she's somewhat envious of them. She thinks Shannon is her HEA, but there's something holding him back from making a commitment. Worried, Victoria turns to Seamus for advice on his cousin. What she finds out, is truly devastating. She goes to Shannon, not to corner him, but to hopefully get him to discuss his past with her so they can move forward in their relationship. Victoria's plan backfires and Shannon takes off on his motorcycle.

Although Victoria's heart was in the right place, Shannon is upset that she went to Seamus to delve into his past--even though he admitted he would've never told her if it hadn't been for Seamus. Victoria tells Shannon she deserves more and breaks up with him. Can Shannon work through his past and be the man Victoria needs him to be?

I've read EVERY Gansett novel and wondered how the novellas would "mesh" with the rest of the series. I am impressed with how well all the snippets throughout the novella intertwined with Victoria and Shannon's story. I do believe you need to read the Gansett series prior to reading this novella or you won't fully appreciate the snippets. It was fun to read updates on several of my favorite characters too! I can't wait for the next novella! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

Victoria Evans is the midwife on Gansett Island, and plenty busy she has been through this series helping with the baby boom going on with the McCarthy clan and their friends. When Victoria attends the wedding of Carolina Cantrell (mother of Joe Cantrell, husband of Janie McCarthy) and Seamus O'Grady (ferry captain and employee of the Cantrells) she meets Shannon O'Grady, the cousin of Seamus who has come over from Ireland to attend the wedding.

Victoria and Shannon have an instant attraction and immediately begin an affair. Shannon had originally intended a 2 week visit, but at the end of that time Victoria asked him to stay and he did. It has been a year, and they are living together in her house.

As this story begins, Victoria is wondering if their relationship will go next level. Not finding the courage to talk to Shannon about it, she visits with Seamus who shares with her that Shannon has been extremely reluctant to have any kind of relationship with a woman since his girlfriend was raped and murdered in Dublin 10 years ago. Victoria is completely dumbfounded as she has no idea Shannon had this terrible event in his past.

When Shannon finds out she knows and how she found out, there is a blowup of epic proportion.

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

When I started reading romance novels Marie Force was one of the first authors I found in the ebook store. I was searching for free books and one of hers happened to be. Of course this led me to the Gansett Island series and now I'm fortunate enough to review this new spin to the Island romances.

This particular book focuses on Victoria and Shannon. She's the island midwife and he works for his cousin's ferry business. They've been together for a time but Vic is yearning for more. She just doesn't know how to ask for it.

There were a few surprises in this episode - you get to hear from a few of Victoria's patients in addition to the happenings with her and Shannon. Those were sweet editions to this book.

Of course like in life people have their ups and downs. Boy do these two have one whirl wind of a down. Secrets can really harm a relationship. As I always say - communication is the key. Sometime people are just as locked up as Fort Knox!

I enjoyed this new swing to the Gansett Island. Be sure to get your copy - especially if you're a Marie Force fan!

Guess what Marie Force fans? Marie Force is releasing short stories of Gansett Island series. And it is definitely amazing read.
In the first episode of Gansett Island mini-series, reader will get to know more about Victoria and Shannon. Reader have previously read a little bits of Victoria and Shannon in the previously Gransett Island books. But they will get to know more about how Victoria and Shannon got together and how their relationship progresses.
Victoria is very known around the Gansett Island for being a very efficient in her midwife career. While being a successful midwife, she also have a fantastic relationship with sexy Irish, Shannon. But Victoria is questioning her relationship because she is realizing that she wants more in her relationship but does not know if Shannon does.
Shannon is a sexy Irishman that definitely makes sense that Victoria draws to him. But there is definitely more to Shannon than expected. He has a past that he does not talk about it at all but it will come out when Victoria is questioning about their relationship future.
It is always expected for couple to talk their future together. It will either bring you together or pull you apart. It always depend on the couple. And it is going to take some bump in the roads for Victoria and Shannon to figure it out.
Four Stars!

The Gansett Island Series is my favourite all time Series!!! In nearly every book Victoria appears and that little snippet always left me wanting more. I am so glad Marie Force started these episodes, even though they are shorter than the Gansett Island books, they are still packed full of love drama and intense emotions.
Victoria is a bubbly full of life character who works well under pressure and never lets anything get to her. Lately though she has been wondering "What Next?" in her and Shannon's relationship. Shannon is the string silent type who seems to be haunted by a tragic past that he doesn't see what's in front of him until its too late.
This was a quick emotional read that had me laughing and crying while reading, I also got caught up on some of my favourite characters as the Clinic had a record breaking number of births in ONE DAY!! All lovers of Marie Force's Gansett Island Series MUST read this!! It will definitely give you your Gansett fix along with a Mac fix!! Amazing 5 star read, can't wait for episode 2

Gansett Island Episodes: Season 1, Episode 1 by Marie Force

So, I have to confess that I have been a huge Marie Force Gansett Island fan since March of 2014. I found “Maid for Love” and loved it and haven’t looked back since. The series has become somewhat like the soap operas I used to watch years ago. The characters so familiar and loved. And I can’t wait to hear what’s next for each of them. So this idea of episodes? LOVE it! This episode focuses on mainly Victoria and Shannon with a few other characters thrown in. These 2 have been around a while in the series but despite not really hearing many details, just that they were a couple. In this episode we learn that Shannon is harboring a devastating secret. He doesn’t want to share it with anyone, including Victoria. But in the process, he almost loses her. This story highlights how sometimes we have to hit rock bottom and nearly lose it all in order to find healing, acceptance and love. Definitely a must read for all Gansett Island fans! If you haven’t read any of the Gansett Island series, you really should read them before trying to get into these episode books as the stories are all built off of previous books. As usual, the writing is very good and exactly what we’ve come to expect from this author. A definite 5 out of 5 stars and a must read!

If you are a fan of the Gansett Island books (like me) you are going to absolutely love this book. We have met Victoria Stevens, who is the Gansett Island midwife in previous books. She is always there taking care of the “pregnant women” on the island. She met hot sexy Irishman Shannon O’Grady when he came to the island with his aunty to see his cousin, Seamus, who lives on the island. He met Victoria and never went back to Ireland. Their romance has always been hot and heavy from the start and they seem to have hit a very comfortable stage in their relationship which has Victoria wondering whether Shannon thinks of this as a fling. Could this possibly be the love of her lifetime??? Victoria finds out things about Shannon’s past which could be possibly holding him back. When she confronts him about these things take a few unexpected turns. Will they manage to get their happily ever after that they both deserve??? Victoria is also busy with the arrival of some long awaited babies. But like everything else on Gansett there is never an easy arrival of a baby. I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait for the next Episode and getting to spend some more time with my friends from Gansett.

Victoria loves her job as a midwife on Gansett Island and her boyfriend, Shannon, but she's wondering why them seem stuck. Neither expected their fling over Shannon's vacation to turn into a relationship, but after a year together she's ready for them to more fully commit to each other. Victoria and Shannon are comfortable in their relationship and have great chemistry, but he can be closed off and moody. Victoria is surprised by what she learns about Shannon and both are forced to reevaluate their relationship and what they want.

Marie Force created a sweet and sexy short story in this episode that is complete without feeling rushed. Fans of the Gansett Island series will enjoy the chance to revisit the characters and couples they have come to care about. Episode 1: Victoria and Shannon can be read as a standalone in the series.

A new addition to Marie Force’s Gansett Island series is Gansett Island Episodes. They are quick reads but offer a full and complete story. As with all the Gansett series books, the episodes will follow in order. They are incorporated into the series timeline and allow us to spend more time on past characters who have additional story to be told or who haven’t had a spotlight on them (such as Victoria and Shannon). We have met Victoria and Shannon in previous books and knew they were dating but I never really got a feel for them (they were background characters). Well, Marie has solved that and what a story this is. Loved Victoria and Shannon’s story and catching up with some of my favorite Gansett Island characters. Many Island favorites make appearances and there is quite a baby boom on the island. Marie’s books focus on a main couple but always includes many supporting characters that enable us to see their lives and relationships grow and change. I really enjoyed this story and the idea of the episodes.

I took a break from the Gansett Island series for awhile, and while I enjoyed catching up with several couples with babies popping out all over the place, the story of Victoria (the island's midwife) and Shannon (Semus's cousin) just felt lacking. I get that they've been in a "relationship" for the better part of the year but what they had was pretty superficial and when Victoria decides she wants more she ends up stepping into a part of Shannon's life he really never intended on sharing with her. Personally their problems were wrapped up way too easily with a nice, neat bow and I was extremely disappointed in it.

I enjoyed this book about Shannon and Victoria. Shannon has something in his past that is keeping him from a a life with Victoria that she wants to know about. So she goes to his cousin Seamus and asks about it. Seamus only tells her that he had a girlfriend that was murdered and that her name was Fiona. Shannon gets mad at her and moves out of their house.

NOw Victoria is alone and wants to know what happened to Shannon and Fiona. She gets him to talk to her a few days later and they have a real chance together at last.

And there's a baby boom on the island when everyone seems to be having their babyies.

As always, a trip to Gansett Island doesn't disappoint. This Episode is one that you will not want to miss. This episode was a great way to get an update on many old characters and to learn more about Victoria and Shannon. I have to admit I was always a little curious about Shannon because I love his cousin Seamus and his story will melt and break your heart at the same time.

Make sure that when you read this episode you are ready to read it in one sitting, you are not going to want to put the book down, especially with the explosion of babies that occurs. This episode is a not miss, I cannot wait for the next episode and full length Gansett book!

Victoria was living with Shannon for over a year but inspite of great sex she wants their relationship to move on and it seems stuck. He won't share his past or anything serious with her. After confronting him he moves out but comes to his senses after talking with Dr. Kevin McCarthy. Will they live happily ever after? The nature of these small books - novellas - is that situations have to resolve themselves quickly. Sometimes that leaves the reader wanting a bit more. It was nice to touch base with all the Gansett Island folks though. I give it a 3.5 stars.

Marie's 1st episode is a hit. As if there was any doubt it would be. It focuses on Shannon and Victoria love story. But we get to catch up on the rest of our beloved islanders. There are 3 surprise babies!! We find out why Shannon is the way he is. Guarding his heart from Victoria. It's heartbreaking. But little does he realize Victoria already owns it. He just has to open up and let her in before it's too late.
