Terrific book but in cliffhanger, so there is a fourth book coming.
Lorene is the daughter of Kyle and Eden ( from the second book) and can see the shadow within the mine. As she grows up she continues to see the shadow and at times the shadow protects her. Lorene is surprise that you can talk to the shadow, however she finds out he is trapped and cannot remember how he got in the mine. The outside light hurts him. Lorene looks at Shadow and see what happens to him.
One day Eden tells her daughter what happened to her when the water skippers saved her from Walter Tipton 100 some years ago.
There is a storm and Lorene is unable to seek shelter except in the cave. She falls a bottomless pit. She is not injured but find yourself in the past. She exit it from the mine realizing that shadow, who is a young man named Garret is there and alive. While she is wandering around town and the surrounding area she encounters Walter Tipton, who scares her.
The plot is intriguing and time seems to be a tangible thing. The characterization of Lorene and her relationship with shadow show the progression leading to love. This twisting of time is very interesting and leave the readers to wanting to find the end or is it the beginning of the story. The reader must read the books in order and most of Shirley the last book to completion.
I can hardly wait to find out what happens in the last book. This would be an excellent book for anyone who likes sweet romances involving time, intregue, murder, and magic in it elemental form.

'Earth Shadow: Lorene' by Jennifer Julie Miller is book Three in the "Water Skipper" Series. This does end with a cliffhanger and I do recommend reading the other books first. This can be a standalone book but I strongly feel you will enjoy it more if you read the books in order. This is a Fairy-tail/paranormal type book. Earth Shadow story deals with Lorene and how her life with the Water Skippers goes forward. Of course we get to catch up with Eden, Kyle, Nora and Roman from the previous books. It is so great to see them and start to unravel the mystery of Lorene and what her future holds.

Good story. Again the author has you on edge. You just can't wait to see what's going to happen next. You think you know but, yet not really sure. You will fall in love with the characters while following Lorene's story.

Earth Shadow is the third book in the Water Skippers Series, and it is filled with fantasy and suspense. Ms. Miller has blended the darkness of a tragic past with Lorene’s struggle to maintain light in her life and her dreams. A creative plot and vivid descriptions keep you turning the pages. The characters are relatable and freely show their emotions. Be warned, this book comes with a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to read the next book.
