Remembering Mr. Maugham

Rate this book
Remembering Mr. Maugham is Garson Kanin's memoir of his—and his wife Ruth Gordon's—long friendship with W. Somerset Maugham, one of the most prolific and popular writers of the 20th century.

Culled from Kanin's notebooks, the numerous events and conversations are related informally, not in chronological order. Kanin's affectionate and respectful recollections provide insight into Maugham's complicated personality, giving the reader a unique view of an esteemed author.

Interesting to those who already know a lot about Somerset Maugham, but much too static and apparently chaotic in the eyes of a less informed public.
