Conservation researcher Veronica has come to the rural town of Eagle Ridge to investigate reported animal attacks that have left pets and a man dead. The locals need the help, and she could use the data to complete her research work. She doesn’t expect to find anything that unusual. After all, she’s been dealing with dangerous animals for years and thinks she knows the habits of desperate creatures. She certainly doesn’t expect a mutant killer. Hybrid Jace is desperate to locate a killer Glycon his people believed already dead. They know it’s only a matter of time before the monster strikes again, costing another innocent life and exposing the hybrids to the outside world. It’s just hard to investigate the Glycon when the beautiful Veronica keeps showing up and Jace's mind goes more to passion than the enemy. With a ruthless enemy still on the loose and secrecy at a premium, Jace's going to have to risk it all if he wants to save Veronica and take down the monster.
Madison currently lives with her husband and two children in the Valley of the Sun. Phoenix, Arizona. After leaving the frozen tundra of the north, Madison was more surprised than anyone with how much she has enjoyed living in the desert. Seeing as she had stated on more than one occasion how much she hated the heat, it was an odd move. But it seemed her hatred for sub-zero temps and ice, or really the things that ice could do, won out in the end. When she’s not writing, she’s enjoying time with her family. Madison and her family frequent festivals in the area, as well as local cultural events, and spend time with family in the area. In the summer she is most likely to be found in the pool with the family and in the winter by the fireplace. Since both her children are autistic, days can be a little chaotic but with her husband beside her, there’s nothing she can’t handle. Luckily he is also an author and able to share in all the activities (and chores) special needs kids require. Madison has a full schedule of releases planned for 2014 listed and updated on her blog: http://madisonstevens.blogspot.com/ Newsletter Sign-up: http://eepurl.com/OX9r5
Veronica has come to investigate a series of missing pet cases in a rural area, she's expecting to find a predator... but what she finds is beyond her department of fish and wildlife training.
Have has mostly been referred to in previous stories, but here he shines as the hybrid ready willing and able to do the grunt work that keeps his people safe and their community running.
I have read several of these Luna Lodge books and I love them all. I really enjoy touching base with some of our characters from previous books. On to the next one.
