"I should put you over my knee and spank you for teasing me..."

Jake's new boss, Cal Mackenzie, is hotter than hell. Fortified by a little liquid bravery on a work night out, Jake makes his move and finds out that Cal is interested too. To Jake's dismay, Cal makes it clear that nothing is going to happen as long as they work together. Fortunately for both of them, this is just a temp job and there's only a week left in the contract.

Cal admonishes Jake to behave while he waits, but as the week drags on, Jake can't resist flirting and teasing. When Friday finally arrives, Cal shows Jake what happens to people who can't follow his rules. Jake learns a surprisingly enjoyable lesson over Cal's knee--one that he won't forget in a hurry.

I don't hang out on Goodreads much, so if you'd like to connect with me then Twitter, Facebook or an email is usually best :) All my contact details are on my website.

Jay lives just outside Bristol in the West of England. He comes from a family of writers, but always used to believe that the gene for fiction writing had passed him by. He spent years only ever writing emails, articles, or website content.

One day, Jay decided to try and write a short story—just to see if he could—and found it rather addictive. He hasn’t stopped writing since.

Jay writes contemporary romance about men who fall in love with other men. Jay has five books published by Dreamspinner Press, and he also self-publishes under the imprint Jaybird Press. Many of his books are now available as audiobooks.

Jay is transgender and was formerly known as she/her.

A sexy little read, but was I the only one who wanted it to be even dirtier?

I'm no novice when it comes to spanking porn... I mean, LITERATURE. In fact, it is one of my top 5 favorite kinks. Spanking combined with some really filthy dirty talk... yeah, that's my jam.

I'd consider this spanking kink for those who are just dipping their toes into the world of spank. There is a good amount of lead up to the scene and some relationship development (as much as we can get out of 35 pages), but I found that the finale was a tiny bit of a let down. I think the short either had to be much dirtier or the relationship had to have more page time for met to go from "like" to "love," but it was still a well-written piece of 10-minute goodness.

If you want a spank session-lite and a fun, little story, you'll enjoy this one. For me, I need a much heavier scene to feel 100% satisfied.

What a sexy nibble of a story, An Invitation was. Perfect for a lunchtime read.

It is short, only about 35 pages, so don't expect more than a couple scenes. But even with it's brevity, I found it most delightful!

I could feel the chemistry between Jake and Cal and their little sexy spanking scene in Cal's office was delicious. And I found the build up to it satisfying, as well.

I would definitely recommend An Invitation to those who are looking for something short and sexy and enjoy a touch of kink.

Yum!

This is just a little bit of spanky office shenanigans that was originally published in the Dreamspinner anthology Juicy Bits. Now available as a standalone. It's very short - coffee break reading rather than one to get lost in for hours :)

That was pretty damn sexy! Spanking at work and sex over the desk?!?! Hell YES!

This story is super short, so I didn’t expect, or want, a ridiculous HEA or a major emotional connection between the main characters. What I did want was some hot sex, humour if I was lucky enough and characters that feel realistic and that's what I got here.

Jake is working as a temp for Cal's company for a few short weeks and has quite the crush on his older and more distinguished boss.

There were a few disappointing moments such as Cal was waaaay to responsible and didn’t have sex with Josh until he’d officially stopped working for him, I mean, where's the fun in that! I want some taboo boss sex. Also Jake’s crush on Cal was very sudden, but given the length of the story it's fairly understandable.

Worth the read if you want something quick, light and a tiny bit kinky to pass a bit of time.

It wasn't bad, but it was too cliché for me (I'm okay with *some* level, but for something too short, it was a bit much)- also the spanking... Meh, not really my thing I guess. I was curious enough to try reading something that included that, but I realised it wasn't for me after all. May work on people who can appreciate it better though ;)

3.5* cos it's short!

Jay Northcote certainly knows how to write a hot sex scene. Originally part of an anthology, this delightful little snippet gives us a peak into what happens behind closed office doors one the temp's contract ends.

I'd love to read what happened next (not so subtle hint) with Jake and Cal and see if there was more than just the physical attraction.

For an erotic shot story with a little spanking (No Todd, it's not scary, no pain at all.LOL), Jay did it well. Good writing skills as usual, a bit naughty (not too naughty after all), this story was very entertaining. And hot, of course :)
You know, office sex is always 'entertaining'...the adrenaline, the kink..well...this one is spot on Jay!

Holy mother of god, this book is on fire!

But I'll be honest - there wasn't much plot in this one. Just enough to set up for the 10/10 office sex. But I'm shameless and perfectly fine with that.

If you have 20 minutes and a taste for hot as hell office sex, read this book. Just do it.

And since I guess I need to say something about the characters, I'll say this: Yes. Yes, yes, yes, please somebody for christmas send me a Cal Mackenzie. Cal was the quiet and sexy boss that had a demanding presence and you just can't help but see him. He commands the attention in the room and Jake couldn't keep his eyes off of him. Plus, I loved the dynamic between these two. Despite it being such a short book, I felt like I knew them like I read a full length novel about them.

Jay is a fantastic author. I love reading his books because I can see him grow as an author with each one and one thing that I know he puts a lot of effort into is character development. He didn't have to say much about these characters for me to connect to them. Fantastic book, fantastic author, 100% recommended.

Steamy little piece of office erotica for you. A HFN ending, but as this story is short, it is mainly just hot office sex. And really, where's the downside?

An enjoyable night time snack, with a side of spanking, to warm your sheets before sleep.

This was a hot and sexy little number. Not much depth in the relationship or romance department, but the sex was off the charts hot. If you need a little steam in your afternoon to get your blood pumping.. this is the perfect place to start! Recommendable!!

This was cute. Very short, quick introduction of how Jake started working a temp job for Cal, and how their attraction for each other led to them coming together at the end of the assignment. Not a bad HFN.

Wanking material written to the bone like the classic porn there is. Jay, at least you could've put a couch in the office. Only that was left to explore.
