Actual cases illustrate how Holistic Mouth Solutions™ can effectively redevelop “ three-foot cages” by combining innovative Whole Health approaches with stem-cell-activating oral appliances to produce unexpected and even life-changing improvements.
Do you snore, grind your teeth, have crowded teeth, are you sleepy all the time, have a double chin, wonky bite, and other health issues? Then you might want to read this book. It is written by a dentist that works on widening the palate so that there is enough room for the tongue. His patients have improved health with his method. One warning though, the book can be repetitive, so for content a 5, for being repetitive, a 3, averaged out, a 4.
I absolutely LOVED this book! As a SLP the concepts in this book were absolutely fascinating to me. I learned so much. After working with adults and children with many speech, swallowing, sleep and breathing issues I really believe more people would benefit from a wholistic dental approach. I think all orthodontists need to read this as well. There is so much more to just mouth expanders.
The only thing I wished were the pictures be in color. It was really hard to tell where the purple outline or the yellow arrow were when the pictures were in black and white.
Current treatments for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) focus on treating the symptoms via forced air (CPAP) or through an oral appliance that holds the lower jaw in a forward position. This book shows another way: a different type of oral appliance therapy that actually corrects the structural problems of the mouth to alleviate airway blockage. The author shows that numerous other problems--allergies, sinusitis, back and neck pain, and more--can be attributed to structural problems in the mouth. Change your mouth, change your health, in other words.
