Beth is depressed. Her people are safe in Grizzly Cove, but she feels as if she’s losing all her friends as they pair off two-by-two with their bear shifter mates. She’s only just found freedom by running away from her oppressive home. It’s not fair that she’s losing her new family too. Trevor rappelled into town from a black helicopter, but he’s found welcome here and a new mission to spark his interest. Almost as much as the pretty mermaid he finds sobbing on a boulder near the water’s edge. He can’t just leave her there, but he soon learns that Beth is as prickly as the trident she carries as a huntress for her people. She’s a warrior in the ocean, but on land, she’s the hunted, and Trevor finds that totally unacceptable. When bounty hunters come to collect the huge price on her head, it’ll be up to Trevor to stop them…and help Beth find her courage, both to face off with her evil stepfather, and accept Trevor as her true mate. It’s all out war in Grizzly Cove, but which side will win? The Grizzly Cove series also 1. All About the Bear 2. Mating Dance 3. Night Shift 4. Alpha Bear 5. Saving Grace 6. Bearliest Catch 7. The Bear's Healing Touch 8. The Luck of the Shifters 9. Badass Bear
Bianca D'Arc is the USA Today bestselling author of over 100 romance titles. She has been published traditionally, by a few notable small presses, and indie. Before becoming a full-time writer, she ran a laboratory, a legal department, and jetted around the country on business while working for a Fortune 500 engineering firm.
Another enjoyable Bianca d'arc book! Loved the nods to people/events/things of interest from past books in Tales of the Were universe. Can't wait to see Ezra again and another in this universe series.
Beth was the newest member of her mer pod. She had a lot to learn.
Beth had escaped her old life with her mother and step father. She seeked out a new life with the mer. Her secrets were only told to the leader, Nansee. There was trouble in the waters, so seeking out safety on the land was crucial. It made her angry and very grumpy. She resented what was happening but knew it needed to happen. Some of her hunting party have found mates with bears! Trevor Williams, former Army Ranger and current high-level intelligence operative for the band of mercenaries was sent to Grizzly Cove to see what needed to be done in the town. His was a fact seeking mission. Kinkaid had hired Trevor’s unit to hunt down those who were still missing from the menagerie, especially a lion shifter female who had last been seen injured badly in the woods of Oregon. They’d found her trail, but she was very good at hiding and had not yet been found. He was thinking about where he might get dinner tonight when he heard a sound that immediately caught his attention. Looking for the source, he spotted a woman sitting on a rock down by the shore. And she was crying. He had to find out what was making her cry. Beth was a closed off person, not trusting many. Trevor had a lot to do to make her trust him, he felt a pull towards her. Not understanding just yet, but knew something was going to happen with her.
Beth has been miserable since the leviathan invaded the waters outside of Grizzly Cove, forcing her pod of merfolk to seek safer waters. She feels abandoned by her friends, because many of them have found mates with the bears of the town. When Trevor, one of the mercenary squad sent to help and observe, encounters Beth crying alone on the beach, he tries to befriend her and cheer her up.
This is Beth and Trevor's story, and it gives insight in to why Beth is so hesitant to trust other folks and their motives. Beth has secrets in her past, and has reason to hide away. But in spite of this, she learns to first trust, and then like, Trevor. I enjoyed watching as Trevor drew Beth out of her shell of bitterness and mistrust, and how she eventually became stronger and more self assured through their interaction.
I look forward to the next episode of the Grizzly Cove series, and catching up with all the magical folk that inhabit Ms D'Arc's worlds.
This is a sweet story about a mermaid name Beth and a bear name Trevor. Beth was one of the mermaids who was living in Grizzly Cove because of the evil who lurks in the ocean. Beth was abused by her stepfather and was afraid of the bears initially until she met Trevor and got to know him. Trevor found Beth crying and was immediately attracted to her. It wasn't long before he knew she was his mate but he realized he would have to take things slowly. Then the stepfather put a bounty on her. Trevor along with the other bears in Grizzly Cove protected her and her confidence grew. She grew to love Trevor and they mated and, for the first time in such a long time, Beth was happy.
Again, a character that was somewhat unlikable in a previous book gets a nice redemption arc. The world keeps growing. I hope we get to the story dealing with the other Strega sister soon.
Before I went into the hospital I wanted a book that would completely distract me. Well surgery done and recovering and wow did I choose the right book! If I tell you about this bear then I am doing you, the reader, an injustice. I would like you to savor every word just as I have. I don't want to spoil a single wow! The best among bear shifter love stories!
This Grizzly Cove book was a little different than the previous ones. It focused more on Beth and the trauma she endured from her step father and finding herself to defeat that threat than it did on the usual storyline of just focusing on defeating the Laviathian, which is still threatening them. Trevor and Beth were great for each other. I really enjoyed this book.
Trevor and Beth's story has renewed my appreciation for this series! As I have reviewed previously I felt this series was getting a little stale. But this installment has put life back into it. There was enough intrigue and action, as well as additional connections to the authors other series, that I look forward to continuing reading.
With Trevor's dramatic entrance to GC it gives you a sense of what is to come. Beth goes from a frightened young woman to someone who is willing and able to fight for the man she loves. Just enough excitement and danger to keep you reading to the end. I hope this series has more books to come along, love all the main residents and story line.
I have followed the 'Were Series' since the beginning and have enjoyed them all. This book however had an even better character development and you actually can see the growth of this author. I'm glad that her writing has recaptured my interest.
There is way too much going on for this to be a standalone! If this one draws your interest, buy it along with 1-8, they are all worth the money spent! D'Arc, is my favorite author, I always lose track of time, while I'm reading her stories.
Beth is troubled for more reasons than any one knows. Trevor has a good head on his shoulders. Their respect for each other is what gets them through. I love the way this HEA turns out.
This book is absolutely positively fantastic. The relationship between Trevor and Beth is great as to watch it develop. I loved this book as well as the whole series. I always reread the whole series in order when a new book comes out and enjoy it more every time.
I have read many books of this genre, but I now have read the nine books in this series and I have to say that these are the best I have ever read. I can't wait for the next one. Great job.
I was so happy that Beth found her mate in Travis. At first when you introduced her, I thought she would be a part of the enemy. Telling her story was so unexpected and so sad. But finding Travis was her shinning hope.
I love the premise of thIs story. The characters are rich and real. Their lives are deep and have several layers. It is so easy to forget your worries and live in this story for a while. I love each minute and can't wait for another story!!!
Ever since Trevor’s badass entrance I was hoping he would get his own story. I was so happy he found one with Beth. This story was all I could have asked for. Loved it.
I love the Grizzly Cove series and this a great addition to it. I loved finding out about Beth's backstory and Trevor, the bear that broke through her walls. Can't wait to see what's next.
Grizzly Cove has been a fantastic fantasy to read. Each book just keeps getting better. The author definitely keeps you wanting to read the next as soon as you finish the previous book.
Well, frightened and insecure Beth finds friendship, self confidence, love, acceptance from an unlikely source. Grizzly shifter from Moore's Wraiths comes to town and finds his mate among the mer. Someone is hunting her. Someone from her past. Love this series but what's going on with the evil Elspeth from others in the series? Re-read in June, 2019. Still enjoyable.
