I'm married to the job and I like it that way... Until I meet him.
I really don't have time to date with how attached I am to my career. I especially have to stay away from Brian, no matter what. Yes, he may be the sexiest man I've ever met but being with him will literally ruin my career. I'm not allowed to date football players as a sports journalist.
But for some reason, even though I've never been drawn to dating before, I can't seem to stay away. He is irresistible to me and he's pretty damn persistent too.
I have the money, the fame, and my dream job. So what's missing?
Ever since becoming famous, every person I meet seems disingenuine. I admit, I've done my fair share of sleeping around but I've never found a connection with anybody. Everyone seems like they're putting on a show for me.
Then I meet him, Ben. He seems different, he feels different. Everything about him screams unique and for the first time, I'm really falling. He may be wary of me at first but if it's the last thing I do, I will win him over.

Please remember this is just one opinion and what didn't work for me might be a great book for someone else. I am having a run (no pun intended) on sports theme books at the moment so I was looking forward to reading this one. Unfortunately, this story didn't work for me. I liked the plot and there are some really promising elements to it but I thought it felt rushed and the dialogue was a bit stilted at times. There were quite a few typos and they became awfully distracting. If the plot had been more detailed and the characters developed more it could have easily been a much higher rating. I would try another book by this author because I think there is a lot of potential - it just didn't work for me on this occasion.

I left a few books by Hayden Hunt out because the stories, as good as they sound, weren't exactly what I was searching for. This story was luckily a better one still a few aspects left me unsure and unsatisfied.
I had to think about it longer than other reviews what I liked and not liked about the book.
The plot itself was good, the insta-love was maybe a bit too fast still I liked the chemistry between Ben and Brian.
I have a problem with guys who have a crazy, bitchy ex and unfortunately Brian is stuck to one...
Also the way how Brian and Ben had their first sexual encounter contained aspects I would say are a "no go", they let me cringe, on the other hand the relationship had parst which were sweet...
I will give this story 4 out of 5 stars, but these are really benevolent, because more "no go" events and I'll have had to drop it to 3.5 stars.
Cameron and Brian had great chemistry right off the bat. Brian stalker ex is totally messed up. Sad to see some one make Cameron lose his job. Brian is there to help. The ex goes after Cameron and he finds out shes the one that made him lose his job. Loved the steady pace and the the happy ending. Another great book from Hayden Hunt.
Thank you for letting me read another part of the series.
Yeah, this was another no go for me. I literally HATE leaving one star reviews. And I wanted to give it ONE more chance with this author. And the story was cute-at least the idea of it was. But what played out on paper was anything but. There are literally so many things I want to critique about this book, but I refuse to spoil so...just know that I was not a fan of this one.
A great feel good story that will warm your heart. Hayden Hunt has done it again. Cameron is a journalist who has lost his job, drowning his sorrows. He has no intention looking for a hookup. After being hit up at the bar he meets Brian, a football quarterback, who intervenes when the other man gets mad that he's been rejected by Cameron. The two start talking and end up in Brian's bed. But it was never intended to be more than a hookup. The next day Cameron is hired to be a sports journalist and immediately is assigned an interview with the quarterback of the local team. Cameron doesn't know much about sports or who the man was he hooked up with but to his surprise he is faced with that very man. The biggest problem they run up against is Cameron's job won't allow him to get involved with the players. This is their HOT and beautiful story. But it's not all a bed of roses. Brian's one time female hookup who is obsessed with him is determined to get him at Cameron's expense. Great story of love. Don't miss it❤️
Cameron’s idealic life has just fallen apart, his job (and the family he adopted as his own) are gone, he has no prospects and no one to go home to. However, there is that old saying “when one door closes another one opens” sand out seemingly of nowhere Brian comes a knockin. After saving Cameron from a jerk and having the best one nighter ever Brian really wishes he got a number, little did either of them know what fate had in store. Marked by many bumps in the road (psycho ex-girlfriend, societal pressures, job pressures just to name a few), neither man can seem to give up on the budding romance and eventually finding the truly important things in life drives them straight to their HEA! Very sweet and interesting read, loved the characters and the story.
This is such a sweet story about a journalist who is adamant about being independent. He's a workaholic and has no time for dating. This of coarse changes when Cameron is laid off from his job. While drinking at a bar trying to forget just for the moment he's approached by a guy who he has no interest in taking home. The guy doesn't take being rejected to kindly and makes a scene. This causes Brian to jump in. The two of them start to fight and are kicked out. Cameron is shocked that this happened cause of him that he runs out to thank Brian. The two of them end up going home together. While leaving Cameron receives a phone call offering him a job.
Brian wakes up alone to a note but no phone number or name. He's bewildered by this and can't seem to get him off his mind. He has an interview to do and is happy to see the guy he hasn't been able to forget.
There's a problem though and Brian will patiently wait to be solved. Cameron has no clue what his in for. This love may be worth dying for.
I asked for an advanced reader's copy and voluntarily am leaving this review.
Hayden Hunt does it again another unforgettable book with captivating characters! I fell in love with Cameron from the first word. A guy who gave his job everything and he's lost once that job is gone. Brian comes to Cameron's aid in a bar when he is being harassed, they are drawn together. Cameron never commits and Brian is always wary of why people want to get close to him. Their relationship won't be denied and this book will take on their journey. There are twists to the story line that keeps you turning the page. Really great read and I can't recommend it strongly enough. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book and I'm so glad I did it's amazing!
I thought Audible was a good book. It was easy to read and the characters were likable. I do think the storyline was very sped up, but maybe not impossible. I always enjoy sports stories and only wished there was more about football. I would have liked there to be more development around coming out for a football player. There were some spelling/grammar mistakes, but didn’t feel they took the reader out of the story.
I hate it when I feel like I have to give quite a low starring and where I didn't overly enjoy the books themselves, but it could've been that it was due to the narrator's as I'm afraid I found the narrator's reading of the books pretty bad boring really, especially for book 1. They didn't have much emotion and emphasizing of the situations of the stories.
I couldn't put it down no matter what!!! An awesome and real read!! Good story and I really liked and loved the main characters Candace and Brian!! Such chemistry and connection!! Definitely want to see more of this series!
There are so many sub-plots to this book it seems the author was unable to make any choices about what kind of book she wanted to write.... couldn't finish
I almost feel like I read this with my finger on the fast forward button. They meet, get drunk & screw. Then Cameron gets a job where they see each other again but can't date.....but they've somehow formed this strong connection that they need to date in secret. Um, after one drunken screw and a follow up conversation? Okay. Then fast forward a week and something happens, Cameron loses his job and....'move in with me' Brian says. Okay, sure. Why not? Then fast forward a few months....literally....because that's what it says in the book, and something else happens and....'marry me'. Um, what? I just felt like the chunks of the book where I was supposed to feel these characters connecting were just missing. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was so much fun to read. I laughed a lot.. i was so glad when the workaholic finally fell.. it was amazingly sweet and interesting. It kept me curious to see what was next and it was really good
M/M Football player in LA finds love with a journalist plot. Cameron is having a bad day so he is drinking his sorrows at a bar when he meets random Brian. They have a night together and leave it at that, until the next week Cameron has to interview Brian for his job and they are thrown back together in a secret romance. Silly silly no stakes story with some crazy death threat thrown in to make it interesting, but failed. May be this story is missing something, like the journalist dealing with the social media circus from the other side while Brian deals with being openly gay in Pro-sports. This story is better written in the 'clean' Tigers and Devils and Tigerland. So go read those stories before this one. 190 pages and kindle freebie 2 stars
