As a young woman, Abby Carmichael had it all—until the night a stranger tore it away…
A year and half after the brutal sexual assault, Abby is finally starting to feel like her old self. Teaching dance classes with enthusiastic kids is just the kind of job she needs—far away from probing eyes or vicious intentions of the opposite sex. When she connects with one of her students, Natalie, it isn’t long until she meets her father, Deputy Ben James.
Ben James is just a regular guy, working to make a life for himself and his daughter…
That’s what Abby tells herself when her sudden attraction for Ben catches her off guard. Abby has been steering clear of men for obvious reasons, and the idea of wanting that kind of relationship is more terrifying than intriguing. But with his doe-eyed daughter tugging at her dance uniform, Ben takes notice.
He’s ready for love, but does her past hold too many secrets?
SECRET LOVE - BOOK #2
Competition is healthy. Except Carrington Carter can’t ever seem to win…
Carrington has never been good enough, between competing with the ghost of a sister she never met and a brother who can do no wrong in their parents’ eyes. She’s convinced finishing nursing school will finally make her parents proud until she finds out she didn’t pass her boards. Now she needs money, more than she’d make working as a nurse’s aide.
A secret life of late nights and fast cash may be the only way to keep the news of her most recent failure from her parents…
FORBIDDEN LOVE - BOOK #3
Violet Carmichael knew her second year of college would be tough, but nothing could have prepared her for what was about to happen…
Violet’s goal is clear—to finish college and work alongside her father and uncle at their family business—but she has one major problem. The dreaded Professor Torres, head of the Architectural Department at Tulane, has a reputation as one of the toughest teachers on campus. Violet has heard more than once that he can be a downright jerk, but she’s determined to not let him get in her way.
He might be a successful professor, but his personal life is nothing short of a mess…
A Midwesterner and self-proclaimed nerd, Evan has been an avid reader most of her life, but five years ago got bit by the writing bug, and it quickly became her addiction, passion and therapy. When the voices in her head give it a rest, she can always be found with her e-reader in her hand. Some of her favorites include, Shayla Black, Jaci Burton, Madeline Sheehan and Jamie Mcguire. Evan finds a lot of her inspiration in music, so if you see her wearing her headphones you know she means business and is in the zone.
During the day Evan works for a large homecare agency and at night she’s superwoman. She’s a wife to Jim and a mom to Ethan and Evan, a cook, a tutor, a friend and a writer. How does she do it? She’ll never tell.
I loved all three of these books. I loved the characters ( it was nice seeing their parents from the previous series). The MC’s in all three books had amazing chemistry (although Carrington and Damien are my favorite 😉). The plots were very intriguing and suspenseful. The sex scenes were intense and emotional. Once I started one of the books I couldn’t put it down. I also appreciate that while these books had tension and some angst— the drama was not dragged out—and I was so happy about that. I highly recommend this series and the following book (4).
If you're looking for a deep, emotional, and addicting story look no further. This story gives you all the feels, and burrows deep into your heart.
Secret Love:
I love how this book actually overlapped the first book in the series. It was great, having Carringtons story told. This book again has all the feels to make it a wonderful addition to the series.
Forbidden Love:
I love everything I read by this author, and I'm in love with this series. The writing is as always phenomenal, and the storyline AMAZING. I loved both characters so much and was rooting for them the whole time. Looking forward to the next read.
Each book was better and better. The closeness of the entire family helped me feel like I was one of the family’s extended members. I have a wonderful family but this went beyond it. Thank you Evan for a delightful week of love for one’s life partner and their offspring and their extended family. Can’t get much better!
Book One was my favorite, and I enjoyed Book Three. Book Two was ok, but I absolutely love all of these friends and families. This author definitely knows how to keep these families interesting, and they will always hold a special place in my heart.
I HAVE BEEN WANTING TO READ THIS SERIES SINCE I READ THERE PARENTS STORIES. THE STORYLINE TAKES YOU ON AJOURNET NO ONLY WITH THE MAIN CHARCTERS BUT THERE FAMILIES AS WELL.
