This book tells how to develop and administer a comprehensive college writing program to improve student writing, promote critical thinking, and strengthen the overall collegiate curriculum.
I had read parts of this book before and skimmed sections but decided to read the entire text cover to cover since I've taken on directing my school's writing program this year. Tremendously thorough treatment of virtually all aspects of program administration and a really helpful review of concepts I studied in graduate school but have only now gotten the opportunity to put into effect. I like this nugget: "Try hard to avoid the mistakes that your predecessors have committed; be inventive enough to commit your own." Will do.
