*I received a copy of the book from the author for an honest review!*
This book is proof that you never know where life throws you. One day you're a perfectly almost normal human being, the next you wake up and you're a werewolf who craves blood, sex and violence. Even more so, you are another freaking race of people who can dream travel and have all sorts of tricks up their sleeves.
That is seriously messed up. Of course Sarah Noffke came up with it. Genetically engineered werewolves, 'cause that is all the rage nowadays. Haha you got it "rage"? I loved the weres, especially Kaleb, he's so cute (for a murderous half man, half animal thing) and Con was a hottie (for an ex-drug addict), Zeph was definitely an alpha wolf (for a forgetting sort of man-beast).
I can say that I can bypass that 180 degrees turnaround but, there is something else that my brain refuses to let go. How on EARTH does she come up with the most obnoxious, annoying, crazy rude characters of all time (I am talking about the spawn of Satan here, aka Adelaide) and still makes me love them?
This is something I'll never ever get. My brain and every moral ethics say that I should only feel repugnance for that horrid human being but my heart loves her and wants for her to find a measure of happiness. That is a paradox.
And don't get me talking about Rox the FBI agent by day/prostitute by night (I swear I didn't come up with that, it's that she-devil), she came so out of the blue and filled the screen with her loud personality and appearance which perfectly balances Addie's reserved self.
I had so much fun traipsing through so many character's heads. That was a huge party. It's always fun having nightmares after reading the evil guy's thoughts. And again, you can know a person by the villains she comes up with. And the ones Ms. Noffke creates just keep getting better and better at being, well, villainous.
I will have to say something, it's something that I have a very hard time admitting, but I am man enough to say it, I mean, woman enough, ok, here it goes: I MISS REN!
Did that just come out of my keyboard?
Yep, it did.
It's a small comfort that he left his daughter behind and that she is set on going forward with the family trait.
In the next books I would love to see more of Lucien, more of Addie coming into her powers and maybe maybe maybe some news about Ren (this can be translated into: "please, dear author, please, I'm begging you on my knees in the corner of the room sitting on broken glass, please, give us something more about Ren's whereabouts and do-abouts", sometimes you have to resort to inventing new words, and this is that type of situation).
I loved this new spin off the Dream Traveler world, very exciting and intriguing. As always can't wait for the next book.
