In the small east coast town of Springfield, there is a community that is more like a family. Five individuals, all on their own journeys, are forced to confront their pasts while re-examining their current values and priorities as their lives intertwine. Only then can they free themselves from the deep-rooted prejudices society has impressed on them, and, finally, see that everyone's story, though complicated, is worth telling.
A fun book written by four authors who managed to blend their voices seamlessly into one story. Set in a fictional town (with a flower shop that feels the need to hire a marketing firm?) and alternating chapters/characters POVs, the plot weaves carefully through the lives of five or six characters and culminates in a stimulating cliffhanger.
The beauty of this read may lie in that it is difficult to characterize or categorize. It is a bit thriller/romance/suspense/mystery/dystopia/family/bildungsroman, but it is not entirely any of those.
