Her Bodyguard

Rate this book
He'll bring this princess to her knees.

Max

I protect royals – I don't screw them.

I definitely don't screw spoiled, rich, out-of-control brats like Princess Alexandra. She's a walking disaster, a whirlwind of public scandal and bad behavior.

She's smart-mouthed, argumentative, and doesn't do a damned thing I say.

And the idea of throwing her over my shoulder like a caveman makes my blood run hot.

She's the ultimate in forbidden – bodyguards don't touch princesses. I could lose everything.

But this is one princess I'll bring to her knees.

Alexandra

My bodyguard is a royal a**.

He's ridiculously arrogant, completely insufferable, and always plays by the rules.

B-o-r-i-n-g. I definitely don't do boring.

If there's one thing I can't stand, it's someone telling me what to do.

Yet the idea of him turning me over his knee makes me wet.

Princesses don't hook up with their bodyguards – it's the ultimate transgression.

And they definitely don't fall in love.

Yum, yum, yum! Max is one hell of a sexy bodyguard, that is for sure! I really enjoyed this love story (especially having read Prince Albert a while ago) and its characters. Definitely recommend this one if you want to read a verah-hawt (and almost drama free) book!

Set in the fictional country of Protrovia, this story follows parallel to the timeline in Prince Albert and features his sister Princess Alexandra, 21, and her new bodyguard, Maxwell Donnelley. Both stories can be read as standalones though.

Like her brother, the princess is a bit of a headline maker. She’s a wild child, partying into the wee hour of the night and habitually evading her security detail. While I wouldn’t condone all of Alex’s indulgences, I give major points for her being a strong, bold, ballsy, and confident heroine. There are just too many weak good girls who get walked all over in romance so it was refreshing to see a bad girl with a good heart in the spotlight here. She certainly keeps the story fresh and funny. This princess dishes it out just as good as any bad boy, to the point that she keeps Max on his toes. But Max is no pushover either.

“‘You’ve needed a good, hard spanking more than anyone I’ve ever met.’”

The two engage in a battle of wits and control that quickly becomes heated. (I loved the phone retrieval.) Told via their dual alternating first person POV, Max and Alex sport some steaming chemistry. Their dirty banter is hot, and their encounters quite entertaining in a sultry kind of way to say the least.

“‘I feel like the porn version of Cinderella right now.’”

Despite their different approaches to life and order, it turns out Max and Alexandra are exactly what the other needs. And I really appreciate how neither of them had lived sheltered lives yet they were still able to share certain things together. All in all, a fun, dirty, low-angst, erotic opposites attract-forbidden love romcom with a sweet and swoon worthy resolution.

Her Bodyguard by Sabrina Paige was the first book I had read by the author and it was a spin off from her work, Prince Albert.

Max Donnelly was an American that met the Crown Prince of Protrovia, Prince Albert, while serving together in Afghanistan. After their service ended, Prince Albert convinced Max to come to Protrovia as the Bodyguard to his difficult and feisty sister, Alexandra.

Princess Alexandra, the Crown Princess of Protrovia, was a handful always escaping her security detail and being the life of the party. She was known as being wild, crazy and irresponsible.

Her Bodyguard was written from a dual POV. It was fun, snarky and eventful. The sparks flew from the onset creating tension and dislike which drove their interactions. In the end, it was a journey of an entitled, bratty, socialite growing into her own and revealing the multi-faceted layers of the true Princess versus who she portrayed to the world.

Overall it was entertaining and enjoyable. It was a little slow getting off the ground for me and there were a few more editing errors than I like, so I rated it a 3.5, which rounds up to a 4 on this rating site. Otherwise, a fun read.

It was written alongside the first book, Prince Albert. I haven’t read it yet, but the teasers included within Max and Alexandra’s story promise a humorous and entertaining adventure; one that I plan to conquer next.

4-maybe 4.5 Solid Stars

OK, Max was definitely 5 Stars and so was the sex scenes, lol. Alexandra was where my rating fell short.... I just couldn't quite connect with her for most of the book but by the latter half and certainly by the end, she grew on me. I guess personally I felt Max deserved "more" but that's just me.

I have to say this author sure knows how to write a sex scene as well as the build-up:) Not only was their sexual chemistry HOT when they actually did get together, whoa, BLAZING and I truly did enjoy ALL of their sexual time together lololol!!!!! Max really knew how to take care of his woman:)

Congrats Sabrina Paige!

I am obsessed with this woman – I stalked her until I had a date for this release.

My love started with Prick back in 2015. I’ve read all her work since. So naturally, when Her Bodyguard it was second nature to 1-click & get started.

By golly this was a long one… I began to have doubts because at the start I was starting to wonder if there was going to be any steam… but my favourite lady had it by the train loads. And let me tell you, I was not disappointed. I was panting & just wanted to rub my kindle up and down my body and pretend I was Alexandra getting royally fucked by my man-hunk bodyguard. *Don’t fear, the kindle is safe. ;)

Max & Alexandra’s story was fun and I loved seeing them together and break down the walls around their hearts. The epilogue was the sweetest.

I also really enjoyed the check-ins from Albie and Belle *Swoon*

1.5 stars for the hot sex? hmm even that it was a bit repetitive.
Well my biggest problem for me is I didn't like both the mc, they annoy me.
And one thing to describe this book? UNEVENTFUL, literally nothing happens all they do is just imagine what is like to fuck each other, have an annoying conversation, the princess doing "rebellious" things blah blah and eff each other silly... wait there is a dramaaaa towards the end that was fucking unnecessary, The H making a dumb move I mean he could have just said "I can't do this anymore" instead of saying those stupid things to "protect heeeeeer" cue eyeroll, so I have to minus a half star.

I'm just glad I survive this phew! I can't count how many times I was tempted to just dnf this thing!
So I double pat myself in the back.

Another author that I'm avoiding from now on, its nothing against her, its just me
you know the "It's not you, its me" thing.

3.5 Stars

The book happens in real time with Prince Albert, but from a different angle by and about a different couple. While Albie and Belle are falling in love, Princess Alexandra and American Marine turned Bodyguard, Max Donnelly, start out almost hating each other. Max believes Alexandra is a spoiled, selfish, wild-child with too much time on her hands. Alexandra sees Max and a goodie-two-shoes, rule follower.

But soon these two realize they have an attraction that can't be denied, as well as a few life lessons to teach each other. Max learns to let loose and to be open to the new experiences around him. Alexandra learns that not every surface is the same underneath. Even the Ice Queen, Sofia, who is going to marry her father has hidden depths.

Alexandra has to learn that not every good thing is short lived.

I liked this one a bit more than Prince Albert. I felt that Alexandra and Max had more depth going on.
There was more of a reason for them to connect. With Alex feeling like she didn't fit in with her family, especially with what was going on with her father getting married again to someone she felt was so different from her mother. Max is in a new environment and realizes there is hidden depth to Alex. She cares deeply and even her flaws make her special.

Sweet story.

Yes, yes, yes. I love a Sabrina Paige romance! Princess Alexandra and all her spoiled naughtiness was absolutely delightful. Her bodyguard Max is the perfect man to tame her. She doesn't think she wants or needs a man for anything except for maybe a bit of "playtime". Oh! And I was so happy to see Albie and Belle again.... They are truly so cute together!

The book is fun and so sexy! I absolutely adore those Raunchy Royals!!!

Daaaaaamn! This one was super steamy! Wild child, party girl Princess Alexandra won't be tamed...until sexy, ex-Marine Max takes over as her bodyguard and breaks out the handcuffs, ropes and silk ties. Lots of spankings, dirty talk and sneaking around!

No cheating.
No OW mentioned at all.
Tiny little bit of OM drama.
No others after H&h have met.
No virgins or manwhores.

I've read other Sabrina Paige books and loved them but this one just didn't cut it for me! I felt as though I was rushing to finish the book and wanting it to end in the worst way possible. The main characters had sex literally every 5 pages and barely had a meaningful conversation.

MAX AND THE PRINCESS ARE TOTALLY HOT...AND MADE FOR EACH OTHER!!!!,
In the interest of full disclosure, Sabrina Paige is one of my very favorite authors, and if she has written a book, I have it, love it and have no doubt read it more than once....Having said all of that....I am still capable of giving an honest review, because, to me, there is nothing worse than reviews being written on your love for or the past books you have read and loved of ANY author....I also realize reviews are subjective, since we all don't love or hate the same things, but anyone who loves this genre of books, will love this one.....This is my review of this newest addition to my kindle library, Her Bodyguard, by Sabrina Paige.

If you read Prince Albert, you already know the characters of Princess Alexandra and her latest in a long line of bodyguards, Maxwell Donnelly. We suspect something is going on with them until the end of that book, (when it is confirmed) but since that book is about "Alex's" brother, Prince Albert and his lady love, Isabella Kensington, we just get bits and pieces....And one of the things I love most about this book (well, other than how hot Sabrina Paige can write a love story) is, the events in Her Bodyguard are actually taking place (almost all without our knowledge) during the same time frame as Prince Albert, but since they are being told about the relationship of Alex and Max, they are, naturally, being told from their points of view and without the events to which they have no knowledge ...It's genius!!

Princess Alexandra is the rebellious (for understandable reasons, as we learn) daughter of the King of Protrovia...She runs off her bodyguards as quickly as they are hired...most of them just give up, because she can "lose" them anytime she wants, and they just can't her....She's called the "Trainwreck Princess" in the tabloids and, unapologetically, lives up to this reputation she's intentionally invented for herself....UNTIL....Ex-Marine, Follow the Rules, Max Donnelly shows up as a favor to his long-time friend Prince Albert, with whom he served in Afghanistan....because the Prince knows Max is a "never give up" "never give in" man, and if anyone can keep his sister safe and out out trouble (whether she wants it or not) its Max Donnelly.....but following the rules with Alex is harder than Max had anticipated, and Max is not just another wimp, Alex can intimidate.

Since I don't like spoilers in the reviews I read (I want the reader to get the same laughter, joy, anguish and thrills of the twists and turns in the books as the reviewers, instead of getting a Cliffs Notes version of the book and it's outcome.)

It's safe to say that Princess Alexandra and Max Donnelly have both met their matches in more ways than one, and although this is a standalone book, I suggest you read Prince Albert first for even more of your enjoyment and understanding of Her Bodyguard.....

I love hot, steamy books with super-alpha men (who aren't afraid of love), strong (with soft centers), independent women with a backbone in a real love story that can hold my attention from page 1 until the end....Her Bodyguard hit all of these requirements,,,,,By the way, (if I haven't made my point, yet) this is one of the hottest, steamiest books I've read and a fantastic love story,...in other words, it is pure Sabrina Paige at her best.

4.5*

Take a sassy, spoiled, out of control princess and a stoic, strong, and by the books bodyguard and what do you get? All the makings for one heck of a fun read!

Her Bodyguard is another delicious addition to Ms. Paige's books. Alex and Max are oh so sexy together. Max is just delightful- he's tough as nails when it comes to his job and has no use for the antics the princess is known to pull. But we soon learn there is more to him than his unflappable demeanor would lead us to believe.
Princess Alex really didn't know what she was in for when her brother, Prince Albert, talked his old military buddy into coming to work for the royal family. But then again, neither did Max! Alex expected more of the same from her new bodyguard- someone who would be easy to escape from so she could keep to her crazy, partying ways...was she ever in for a surprise!

I really enjoyed how these 2 were with each other- the banter between them was so amusing, they kept me completely entertained. Max really saw Alex for who she was, and not who she pretended to be, and for her that was a little scary. It was hard for her to let down her guard when it came to love, but Max was nothing if not persistant. I loved the journey these two went through on the path to their happy ending. This was a slow, hot burn with the ultimate payoff.

meh. Her book 'Prick' was much more entertaining. My biggest problem was the fact that I felt like I was reading an episode of "The Royals". If you haven't seen it I wouldn't be surprised. it's not that famous of a series. But there is a princess/bodyguard thing going on, that reminded me of the relationship in this book.
Just watch the series. It's better. 😎

Kinky, funny and wickedly sexy...5+stars!

Alexandra has a knack for ditching her bodyguards: rappelling down palace walls, climbing out bathroom windows, jumping out of a car at a stoplight. It’s all normal activity for one reckless and defiant Crown Princess of Protrovia. Her brother, Prince Albie puts a halt to her shenanigans when he hires ex-Marine, Max Donnelly. But that only makes Alex up the ante in the game of attempted escapes, she’s got better things to do, like partying all night dancing on bars and playing poker with Russian mobsters. And there is nothing more enticing for Max than meeting a challenge.

Max Donnelly sees through Alex, she’s one royal brat that needs some much needed punishment. And this sexy, filthy-mouth talker is one dominating alpha male whose brand of discipline is kinky f*@kery. Poor Alex is no match for Max. No man has ever treated her so brazen. Though Alex is equally annoyed and aroused, she can’t deny the attraction. She melts a little each time Max whispers his dirty desires in her ear, breaking down her resistance and the walls around her heart. The scenes are way hot. And the smexy goodness just sizzles off the pages. Oh, and what Max does to her panties is so funny. That had me chuckling. Way to go, Max.

Her Bodyguard is a great read not to be missed. It’s funny, and wickedly sexy with a fun storyline. My laugh-out-loud favorite scene is when Alex, on her way to sweeping Max off his feet, stops at a WalMart in town, and proceeds to dress herself in glittering, obnoxiously loud American wear, and drinking a Slurpee. It’s just so over-the-top Alex. Priceless!

I received and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Her Bodyguard coincides at the same time as Prince Albert. It's awesome and these two characters are so great together. Princess Alexandra has driven off her bodyguards as she has a rebellious attitude to being guarded. She has guarded her feelings and doesn't do relationships of any kind.
Matt is a veteran marine and use to ordering around marines in a war zone and doesn't believe that he will have any trouble guarding a Princess. Little does he know the trouble that Princess Alexandra can cause and what attraction he will have to her defiance of his orders.
This is one that I am so glad that I read. Prince Albert was great but this is one that out did that story. There is a lot of angsts, some creative attempted escapes and the sex is so hot that singeing might be possible to your fingers.

4 stars!

Princess Alexandra - the Crown Princess of Protrovia - is a bad girl who parties, drinks, does drugs and has the habit of escaping from her Bodyguards. She is "out of control" and no one seems to be able to keep her out of media scandals and securely safe and protected, under the Royal Security's eyes.

Enter Maxwell Donnelley, her new Bodyguard.

As a former Marine, Max does not expect his new job protecting the princess to be very hard or challenging.

But, Alex has never kept the same bodyguard for more than 14 days, as they Always quit!

Alex despises her new Bodyguard, as he refuses to do what she wants and orders him to do. Also, Max has a "hands on" approach that messes with Alex's plans of escape and fun times. So, Alex is set on getting rid of him, of getting "James" (AKA Max) to quit.

But, Max is set on keeping his job as he has his parents in America to support.

Will Alexandra get Max to quit?

And what happens when LUST gets in the way?!

What if Feelings start arising too?!

Will Max be able to keep his job?

Read the book to find out ;)

************************

I Really enjoyed this book!

I have to start by saying that this book is a Parallel book to Prince Albert, which tells Alexandra's brother's story. For the full experience and enjoyment, I'd suggest reading Her Bodyguard AFTER reading Prince Albert.

So, here's what I really liked:

1. I think it is a more serious book than Prince Albert as It has more substance and not so much "nonsense" as Prince Albert had. (But it also isn't as Fun or Funny as Prince Albert is).

2. I really liked that Alexandra is far from what you'd expect a Princess to be. Alex is her own self; is strong willed (or stubborn) and she is not afraid to be who she is and do want she wants (even if she has to rapell down the palace's walls to do it). 😂
Also, I loved how there's some Deepness to Alexandra's character. She is not a bad girl just to be one...there are things she is struggling with.

3. I loved the "James" banter (basically Alex just calls all her bodyguards James, no matter what their name is) and how that drove Max absolutely crazy 😁

4. I loved Max and Alex as a couple (I So want a Max for me! 😍)... I ultimately loved that Max did Not want to change Alex. He accepted Alex's wild, bratty self (even loved her for it) and just wanted to protect her and keep her safe.

5. And I Loved the LOVE here. I loved that the girl who never wanted a boyfriend and couldn't Ever in her wildest dreams see herself uttering the "L word" or the "R word" actually did find her match in Max, the One meant for her. (And I absolutely Loved what Max did just to show her that he loved her 😍❤️)

Here's the things that I didn't like much:

1. This is still a Hot book, as in there's a lot of focus in the intimate scenes (but not as much as in Prince Albert, which is good), I think I'd have liked it more if it focused more on the growing feelings between Max and Alex, but, well, I guess this is just not that type of book.

2. The cover - Again, I know this is a HOT book, but THAT cover just screams LUST and EROTIC book AND (luckily) there is more than that between Max and Alex in the book. So, for me, the cover doesn't portrait the book very well. I'd like an edition with another cover.

Overall, this is a Light book about a Forbidden Relationship between a Princess and a Bodyguard that I think most people will enjoy! And I definitely Recommend it if you're looking for a Hot read with a bad girl and an Alpha Male!

Loved this book. These two were so hot that I was pretty sure I wasn't old enough to read this book.....which means I couldn't put it down.

Alexandra is an ornery princess, that Max is in charge of protecting. She goes through bodyguards like the normal person goes through clothes, she refers to all of them as James.....which I found highly entertaining. The chemistry with these two.......whew. Alexandra is an "escape" artist and constantly escaping her bodyguards. But when she goes up against Max, he's more than capable of stopping her at every turn. A battle of the wills with some great verbal sparring.....gotta love that.

I loved reading these two and seeing how they came together, they were so much sexy fun.

OMG! I just "thought" I loved Prince Albert's book but that boy has nothing compared to his naughty sister Alex and her HOT bodyguard Max! What an awesome, funny, witty and oh-so-steamy new book from Sabrina Paige (one of my one-click guilty pleasures!) that will have you shaking your head and wishing you could spank that bratty woman...or at least get spanked by her tough-on-the-exterior but mushy inside bodyguard.
I loved how this story was happening during the same time frame that we experienced Albie falling for his soon-to-be stepsister...and that we were able to get a glimpse of the struggles and dynamics of being the black sheep of a fictional royal family. If you have read any of the other many very entertaining and utterly steamy romances from this author, you will have to grab this one. You do not have to have read the first book in this series but it really helps and you really should to get all the history...and lucky readers get Prince Albert included in this kindle version for free!!

I want to start of this review by saying that I love the show The Royals on E! and this book reminds me very much of Eleanor and Jasper.

Meet princess Alexandra of Protrovia. She is a mess. A hot mess. She does everything to gain negative press. She hates being a royal because she hates when someone tries to take controll over her.

description

Prince Albert offers his Marine friend Max a job as a bodyguard for his sister.

description

Bodyguards doesn't stay long, so Max is determined to stay even though Alexandra is a spoiled brat. Alexandra does everything to make him leave, but Max is one though son of a bitch.

description

But their chemistry is very difficult for them both to deny. They can of course not be together since he is an employee and she is the princess. So they start a secret relationship.

description

description

Max really wants Alexandra to experience normal things, like driving a car. Really cute.

And like all most NA books there is drama at the end that causes the main couple not to be together.

Just read this book. It has drama, it has royals, drugs, romance. It is a standalone, but I recommend that you read Prince Albert first.
The only reason for that I am giving this book 4 stars instead of 5 is because is kinda slow before anything happens. Then when thing happens between them and its like "BAM! Gather everything on this few chapters before this book is ending".

Her bodyguard

Arrrgh! It took me three fricking days to get through this story. I want to say the author wove quite a nice story. I loved the plot. Protovia, was a rather interesting little country. Kind of like Monaco but on the strongest dosage of steroids. Omg! Raunchy royals pretty much describes the royal family.
Max, that wonderful, incredible bodyguard was the reason I stuck with with this story. I loved his character. Alexandra, I have to say I had a big problem with. If she was written as a character you love to hate, then the author succeeded. I'm sorry, peeps, but I found her totally unlikable. She grated on my nerves throughout the whole book. I wanted to like her, I really did but to me she was just too, over the top. I've read Goodread reviews that a lot of folks liked her brattiness. They liked how unapologetic she was. I didn't expect her to be a royal goody two shoes, but sheesh. I knew Max was crazy about her from the moment he met her. I wanted to smack her mouth so many times. Disrespectful. Rude, obnoxious. Yup, being really true to herself. This girl had no filter, whatsoever. Just says and does what she wants without regard for consequences. I felt bad she was devastated by loss of her mother. And I guess her rebellion was a result of that. Overall her abrasiveness was just too extreme. It was difficult to like her or sympathize with her. I'm sorry.
If her brother is as abrasive and raunchy as she is, then I guess I won't be reading his story. But then again it's Raunchy Royals.

This was a classic Sabrina Paige: with quirky, interesting and intriguing characters, a fast-paced plot with some mysterious and unexpected turns, and whole lot of hotness!

The heroine, Princess Alexandra is the one we all love to hate, hate to love. She's a spoiled, rich and privileged brat who just wants to be 'a commoner'. What I loved about her - the same thing Max loved so much - was that she was so unapologetically who she was. (And then she cries at the end of Ten Things I Hate About You and buys me FOR LIFE!) She does what she wants, she does *cough*who*cough* she wants, and she owns it! Max, her bodyguard, is the only one who can see deeper than a party girl image she shows and let her know he SEES HER. Yes, she is spoiled, and she can be a brat, but she's just a girl who can do with at least a day in her life she wouldn't have to be in the spotlight. But for a girl who's used to being left and a disappointment, it's kind of hard to let her walls down. Max, however, isn't afraid to crush them. He's a protective, possessive alpha, especially when it comes to the Princess! *sigh*

"But then, truth be told, she was mine from the very first day I saw her.
She'll be mine until the day I die."

A classic forbidden story, a fairy tale in which princess falls for bodyguard, has never been sexier. Because when Alexandra and Max collide, there's fireworks... well, figurative fireworks. But hell, we all know they're the best!

Came back to this book in search of one line that absolutely fucking sent me. Good news: I've found it and it's still just as hilarious as it was the last time I read it.

"Bend over like a good little girl and let me put this butt plug in your ass so you can raise money for charity."

So...if you're into that, you're gonna love this book. And if you're not into that, you'll probably still love it, because there's plenty more kinks here and at least one is bound (an innuendo? in MY Goodreads review? it's more likely than you think!) to appeal to you.
