Is it too late for me to call dibs on Eli?

I've read enough of Audrey's books to know she'll always deliver on chemistry and fantastic characters. I've genuinely enjoyed so many of her heroes, but Eli is yumalicious. I love badass alphas, and Eli definitely delivers in that department.

It was also a genuine delight to dive back into the world she'd created with the Trinity series. Familiar and yet fresh because it encompasses the secondary characters many of us weren't sure we'd get to enjoy this far down the road. If you enjoyed the Trinity series, this one will definitely be right up your alley. Oh...and did I mention Eli is to die for? :)

Oh my dear lord... Another book from this amazing author... Oh boy...
As everybody knows Audrey Carlan is an amazing writer that can get under your skin in a flash. Her writing is simple, super detailed and with so much feelings behind each word that will let you speechless.
Life is the fourth book from the Trinity Series and oh boy, what a book. I'm gonna be honest and tell you that I haven't read the other books but I really want to, because I know they will be freaking amazing just like this was.
Life tells the stories of Maria and Elijah.
Maria is a survivor, she has endured what no-one should have. She a loyal friend that can sacrifice erself for the sake of others. She lost the love of her life but she needs to keep living, to keep surviving. There are days that she wants to disappear but she can't, she needs to keep fighting.
Elijah is a dark man, full of secrets and a bounty hunter. He's used to get what he wants when he wants, but when his path intersects with Maria's he simply knows that he wants her. And him being the way he his he will get her, no matter what.
And oh boy what a ride this was. It was intense, scary, breathtaking, suspenseful the hole package. There were times that I was do scared, I was terrified for the characters. But there were times when I was beyond happy because the hot scenes are freaking awesome and hot as hell. Dayum woman you know how to put the house on fire.
The timeline worked so well, I haven't read the first three books, and I need to as soon as possible, but this book was able to give me the explanations that I needed. But I'm gonna get them because I need to read more from this girls stories. The bond they shared is super strong and I Loved the fact that Audrey managed to put some characters from the Calendar Series in it. It made me want to read that series again.
And now I want the 5th book of this series. Can't wait to put my claws on that masterpiece because I have so many questions that need answers.
Thank you Audrey for creating another breathtaking story.

If you’ve ever opened a Whitman Sampler, you recognize the liner includes a guide to each chocolate. So if you’re looking for the caramels, the chocolate whipped mousse, or the molasses chew, you’re assured you’ll find just what you want. Audrey’s books are like the famous Sampler. You know with every book she writes you’re sure to discover well-developed, mouth-watering characters, a strong storyline, maybe a bit of danger and intrigue, and always love and happiness that melts your heart and most certainly sizzles the sheets. Life, by Audrey Carlan, delivers on this sweet recipe for success, leaving her readers blissfully sated on the confectioners of her prose.

This fourth book of the series is Maria’s story. She fought to rescue her soul sister Kat from the scorching fire in the theater and bares the cuts and bruises, survivor’s guilt and loss from that day. She wants to be a fighter…she is, but there’s only so much any woman can take. She has nightmares, fears that bring her to her knees, and now she has Eli. But Tommy’s bulked-up, sexed-up, dirty talking alpha doppelganger may not be enough to keep the danger of her past from spilling over into her present. He’s back. He’s gonna take a swing at taking what was once his.

Emotional
Gripping
Hot, hot!
So excited to get back to these characters, to learn more about them and to see them continually coming together to support one another. Excellent to learn more about Maria. She is a fighter, sassy and bold. Hot, passionate personality. She has so so much to deal with in this book. So much dark to wade through to get back to the light.

Someone unexpected and a whole lot shocking has her back, though. His strong, dominant, persistent personality is just what Maria needs to keep from sinking inside herself. He is her flashlight in the dark. They are perfectly matched and I loved their verbal sparring!

Engaging read that keeps the pages turning.

Life (Trinity #4) by Audrey Carlan ~ 4.5 STARS

This is the first book of the Trinity series I read but this can be read alone. I wish I read the first three though because I was having a hard time catching up with Maria’s soul sisters. The plot for this book is totally different from the yoga series I loved so much. Life is dark, gritty, intense with heavy subject matter – there are full disclosures though. Maria’s boyfriend who is a cop died protecting Maria and her friends. At Tommy’s funeral, Maria had the surprise of her life – she met Eli, an identical version of Tommy. Eli is dominant, alpha, sexy – a lawless bounty hunter. He is hell bent on protecting the damsel in distress but Maria is not having it. The problem is Maria does not have much choice when her abusive ex-boyfriend is out of jail and is out for blood revenge. Can Maria resist the bad boy who refuses to back down?

I like the chemistry between Eli and Maria – super passionate and sexy. I love a man that can take care and protect his woman, so Eli is my favorite character. I was distracted a little bit with all the Spanish talking though because I find myself reading over again to look for the meaning of the sentences. I enjoy the side characters which are Maria’s soul sisters but as I said before I wish I had the whole background relationship between all of them. I would have better understand the close knit bond. The letters made me cry – eeek! Just beautiful and emotional. The book is well-written – of course I didn’t expect anything less from this author. Everything flows nicely and kept me intrigued the whole time. The content is a bit more intense than my normal read but I enjoyed the characters and the romance all the same. If you are looking for something dark, gritty with drama, action, super strong sexy hero and sassy heroine – this is the book for you!

Muy Caliente!! Life, the fourth book in Audrey Carlan's Trinity series is perhaps her most erotically charged and suspenseful book to date. That says a lot as everything by Audrey is highly erotic. All her works are also thought provoking and Life is no different. In Life we get to know a bit more about Maria, one of Gigi's crew (BESOS). She's survivor and with that comes a bit of guilt and self-doubt, something that is hitting her particularly, and rightly so, hard.

You will need to read the first 3 books in the Trinity series to understand Maria and where she's at in her life.
This is one fast read, and when I say fast I really mean the the connection with Elijah Redding is accelerated. Eli or "Red" is a bad a$$ mystery, a complete surprise to Maria, and one that throws this already off balance spitfire into a complete tizzy. The dictionary should have her picture next to the word firecracker. She kicks booty and takes names. But her past isn't ready to let go of her.

The overall story line is well paced, the introduction, a threat that pushes these two together, and how that all plays out is very well done. Carlan always handles sensitive subjects (domestic abuse) with great consideration. Maria's had a rough go of it, but again she's a survivor. It's a sexy, um, really, really, really sexy story and at times incredibly fun. The banter between Eli and Maria is fabulous and it's always great to see more of the Hudson's. And bonus, I learned a little Spanish too (although I'm pretty sure most of it won't transfer to the business need for Spanish that I have). ;-) 4.5 Stars and recommendation!

I haven't read any of the Trinity Trilogy so I went in with fresh eyes. It doesn't take long to get into this book so reading the previous story is not necessary but after reading this story you're going to want to read 'Trinity Trilogy', the characters in this book are amazing I'm going to read the trilogy.

I don't think I have ever read a book where so many female characters have tragic things happen to them. What I love is the term 'Soul Sisters' finding these amazing sister who have your back through thick and thin.

So much tragedy happens in the first scene, losing your boyfriend while he was protecting your friend.

Maria meets Elijah her boyfriend's brother. There's so much heat between the two it's evidence they will end up together their chemistry, their attraction. It's a different way to start a romance but sometimes you don't get to choose.

I loved this story it's different and it's not neatly wrapped up in a bow. Loved it will read the rest.

I had been looking forward to this book for so long and Audrey did not disappoint. She hit this one right out of the park with this stunning read!
Passionate and full of emotion, I loved the female ensemble as they form a breakable bond as "Soul Sisters" to face the tragic events in their lives.
Then Maria meets Elijah and that's when I stop because I don't want to give anything away.
Audrey brilliantly develops these complex multifaceted sexy characters that you just fall in love with. This book was no exception!

Life is Audrey Carlan's best novel yet!  That’s saying something because she has so many amazing novels that I constantly re-read!  Life is book four in her Trinity Series...Maria De La Torre’s long-awaited story and I am so grateful it’s finally out.

Maria De La Torre is not simply a character in a book.  She is not simply one of the soul sisters that supported Gigi Callahan in the first three books in this series.  She’s not just a man’s girlfriend.  For me, it’s a lot deeper than that.  Maria represents women all over the world who have had dark and torturous pasts.  She represents women of strength, especially women of strength who recognize their vulnerabilities.  That is one of the things I loved most about Maria.  When her life is turned upside down on the heels of tragedy, her inner strength and courage are tested like she never believed possible and brings out her “spicy” side out in force.  One of the biggest parts of her core strength is the love of and for her soul sisters.  Now that is a beautiful thing.

Elijah is the alpha male of all alpha males.  How Audrey found my husband and described him so perfectly, I will never know .  He’s a tough, strong, dark, and relentless bounty hunter.  And he had me drooling from the start!  All it takes is a look from him and your clothes melt off. Whew! Okay but seriously, Eli is the kind of man you want and need to have your back in everything from the little things to saving your life or the lives of your loved ones.  His need for Maria is the stuff that dreams are made of yet also happen daily for those lucky enough to find it.

As can always be expected from a novel by Audrey, there are lessons as well as wicked hotness (I mean seriously, it’s Audrey Carlan.  Of course it’s wicked HOT!).  In Life, I learned that you can’t choose who you love.  Your mind can come up with a dozen excuses, but your heart knows what it needs.  Another lesson was that you can’t ever underestimate the strength you hold within yourself, even when your nightmares come to life.  That’s the time when you need every ounce of it to triumph.  As a woman, I can only hope that I have half the strength that Maria has.

Thank you Audrey, for such an amazing novel!  You always take me on rollercoasters!  I don’t remember the last time I cried from deep sorrow, mourning, gratitude, and laughter!  Gah!  This is your best yet and I can’t wait to see how you will top it!  You are THE Incomparable Audrey Carlan and I won’t EVER let you forget it!

I had the honor with my blog to read the new standalone book by Trinity series, book four, titled "Life" by the amazing bestseller author Audrey Carlan.

I didn't read the trilogy yet, but, dear reader, meet this series, you won't regret! All the series start with the book titled "Body", after we got "Mind" and then, "Soul".

The story is about Maria De La Torre, one of the soul sisters of the series. She is a strong character, hopefull, is a huge woman.

An amazing woman, a survivor, someone who fight with demons and with the dark past. She believes that love someone after a loss is unacceptable, a mistake. But, Elijah Redding shows for our heroine that is possible to find support in a hug, in a kiss. In a love. Eli is protective, a guy would kill for her.

"Life" is a book which shows, mostly for us, women that life can surprise us in the best way, givin' us a second chance <3.

Is a romance which takes our breath away with the hot scenes, but is a good lesson. Maria was afraid to what people would think about her decision in love someone in less than a month of her loss. But her friends supported her, they became a part of a family. A family. This meant more than anything to her.

In this book, Audrey Carlan show us the life of a woman who is determined as dancer, as being a dreamer, as believer and thankful in God. And again, made us fall in love by her writing, fast and captivating.

Maria, Elijah, Bree, Kathleen, Gillian, Chase, Carson, Phillip... Is hard to not falling in love by those characters, each of them means something to us, readers into this journey. And this meaning have to be discovered in reading.

Do not miss this series.

This is an intense story about Maria's life. I have been waiting for this to be told and Audrey did not disappoint. The angst and steam and passion know no bounds. It will gut you to your core and crush your heart until it's broken. You will cry, scream, and loose your mind.

People don't choose who they fall in love with, if only it was that easy. Life is hard and it takes a strong support system to make it thru day to day. You will also laugh out loud and feel so much love and devotion that can't be contained. The wit and humor gives this story a great balance. The soul sisters have been through so much. You will hold your breath and your heart because agonizing and spectacular events will occur.

Then there is Eli, the bounty hunter, that will do anything to protect Maria whether she wants him to or not. There is a spicy fire that ignites whenever they are in the same space. He wants to lock her down in more ways than one. This man can melt your panties off with one stare. You will not believe the explosion that is about to take place. Epic storytelling at its finest pulling you right in, so you are experiencing Life.

[Quelle: Verlag]

Eigentlich einfach alles.

Was mir nicht gefallen hat:
Nichts.

Title: Life
Series: Trinity #4
Author: Audrey Carlan
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 28, 2017

Blurb

Maria De La Torre is a survivor. Her life has not been paved with streets of gold…but with blood and sacrifice. She may have been there for her soul sister in the Trinity Trilogy but this story is about her life. The life she chooses. The same life someone from her past is trying to take away.

Elijah is the last man in the entire world Maria should be with. He’s a dark, gritty, lawless bounty hunter—the exact opposite of the man she loved and lost, the man who gave up everything for her. Only Elijah is not the type of guy to back down. He’s used to getting what he wants and he’s set his sights on the raven-haired seductress.

Time is not on Maria and Elijah’s side. There’s a new threat to the soul sister, one Maria never thought she’d have to face again. And this time, the stakes are life and death.

Maria quickly learns that the things she wants most in this lifetime may just be the things that have the power to destroy her.
Thoughts:

If you’ve ever opened a Whitman Sampler, you recognize the liner includes a guide to each chocolate. So if you’re looking for the caramels, the chocolate whipped mousse, or the molasses chew, you’re assured you’ll find just what you want. Audrey’s books are like the famous Sampler. You know with every book she writes you’re sure to discover well developed, mouth-watering characters, a strong storyline, maybe a bit of danger and intrigue, and always love and happiness that melts your heart and most certainly sizzles the sheets. Life, by Audrey Carlan, delivers on this sweet recipe for success, leaving her readers blissfully sated on the confectioners of her prose.

This is Maria’s story. She fought to rescue her soul sister Kat from the scorching fire in the theatre and bears the cuts and bruises, survivor’s guilt and loss from that day. She wants to be a fighter…she is, but there’s only so much any woman can take. She has nightmares, fears that bring her to her knees, and now she has Eli. But Tommy’s bulked up, sexed up, dirty talking alpha doppelganger may not be enough to keep the danger of her past from spilling over into her present. He’s back. He’s gonna take a swing at taking what was once his.

Grade: A+++

Well damn.
This was not what I was expecting for Maria at all.
This just totally was out of the blue and side swipes you. Multiple times.

She is still grieving for Tommy and all that her friends have lost. Then Elijah busts into her life.
No one knew about Elijah. No one. Certainly not Maria... even though he is Tommy's brother... twin brother... identical twin brother!

How can you not tell someone in your life for months that you have more family that you don't speak with? I am still reeling from that story.

Maria has a past, that we had seen glimpses of, but never really understood the depth and depravity in which she escaped... barely. Now the diablo is back and seeking revenge on her and those around her.

This kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

This was more like 3.5 stars for me. I'm stingy with my stars and it always pains me especially when it comes to one of my faves.

Listen Linda. Listen. Don't get me wrong, this story is everything Audrey does good. It's hot, so hot. It's full of conflict and her Trinity books know how to bring the conflict. Life is no different. Just when you think this group of friends could relax and enjoy life something comes back from the past to prove they can't put their guards down just yet. And yes, there is still her infamous hot and dirty love scenes. Something AC has gotten down to a science.

Maria is my fave from the group of soul sisters. She's everything I want to be. She's strong, independent, sassy and let's not forget beautiful. She knows what she deserves and won't settle for less. And I just wanted her to be able to mourn losing Tommy in peace. But no. It's never that easy and my heart broke all over for her.

Now let's get to the issue that had me knocking off a half a star or maybe even keeping it from a 5 star. One word, Elijah. I love a good alpha male on occasion but Eli puts the A in alpha, not to mention another word. He was just too much for me that it turned me off from the story a bit. He was pushy without being compassionate. Maria was going thru a tremendous loss for her and he just couldn't let her work thru her emotions without making her very aware of his intentions. I think there was only one part toward the end of the story I actually felt for him.

I feel like I'm not giving you much to go off of but I just don't want to ruin anything in this story for anyone because regardless of my feelings I think it's one that people need to read. And you need to go into it as blind as possible. Maria's past is haunting and dangerous. It makes you understand her strength and her hesitation. In the end, this is still another good, strong story from AC.

Life è lo stand-alone interamente dedicato a lei.

E i tatuaggi?

«Gemelli!», gracchio e lascio andare Chase.

Elijah annuisce. «Gemelli omozigoti».

«In versione Hulk, direi», aggiunge Gillian.

«So che ti amava.

«Siamo fuoco e ghiaccio, piccola. Lasciamo entrambi ustioni se stimolati. Voglio farti mia.

This is book four in the Trinity Saga or it can be read as a standalone book. I recommend that you read Body, Mind & Soul before you read Life. Life follows Maria De La Torres and Elijah 'Red' Redding.

The lovely Maria De La Torre is a survivor. Maria's life hasn't really been paved with streets of gold, they have been paved with lots of but with lots of blood and sacrifice. Maria may have always been there for her soul sister Gillian in the Trinity Trilogy. This is a story is about Maria's life. The life that Maria chooses. However this is the same life that someone who keeps haunting from her past is trying to take it away. Apart of Maria's life she's tried so hard to lock away so deeply and try to be happier in the new life she's been making.

Meet Elijah Redding. Elijah is Tommy's identical twin brother. Not that Tommy ever mentioned her had a brother let alone an identical brother. Elijah is the last man in the entire world that Maria believes that she should be with. Elijah's a sexy, smoking hot, dark, gritty, a true lawless bounty hunter. Elijah's the exact opposite of what she thought was the man she loved and lost. That man was Tommy who gave up everything for Maria that included his life. Tommy was killed in the line of duty. Unluckily for Maria, she finds out that Elijah is not the type of guy to back down from anything. Elijah is always used to getting what he wants. Now Elijah has his sights on the raven-haired seductress.
Now the time is not on Maria and Elijah's side. They discover that there's a new threat to the fiery soul sister. It's one that Maria never thought she would never have to face again. Unfortunately this time, the stakes are definitely a matter of life and death.
Maria now suddenly and quickly learns that the things Maria so desperately wants most in this lifetime; they may just be the sort of things that have all the power to destroy her."

This book is not one for the faint of heart as it's a really touching and gripping book. It had me in tears at places and laughing at Maria in others.

Her spirit is such an inspiration.

This book and the other Trinity series books bring to light how even through all the bad things that there is also the chance of a happy ending.

Audrey Carlan knows how to bring it.

A fantastic continuation to a great series.

If i could give Audrey Carlan more than 5* i would.

"Daring", "bold", "brave", and "gutsy" are words I've used to describe Audrey Carlan's books before--but never do they apply more to a book like "Life", which grabbed me heart and soul and just never let go.

Okay, first, let's talk about this premise! A heroine who's just buried her boyfriend, only to be SLAMMED out of her senses by the arrival of the guy's "secret" twin brother. What a spin on the twins trope--one that seriously had me shaking me head, wondering how all this was EVER going to play out to a decent HEA...

Well, the answer to that question is: BEAUTIFULLY. No, not even that. The word is more like magically, especially with a hero who simply wrapped himself around my heart then threw away the damn key. Even by the halfway point of the book, I thought Maria, the heroine, would be my more favorite of the two of them (because BELIEVE ME, she is AWESOME!), but by the time I hit 80%, Elijah Redding simply slayed me over any other Audrey Carlan hero, EVER.

I knew to repeat that. THIS. GUY. SLAYED. ME.

Honestly, the last half of this book had me clicking and highlighting so many breathtaking, beautiful, incredible moments, courtesy of Eli. Wow, wow, TRIPLE WOW.

And before I wrap things up, can I just add EXTRA CREDIT POINTS for a heroine who burns the eggs, the bacon, AND the coffee all at once! Huzzah for us kitchen klutzes! Yessss!

Once more, Ms. Carlan swept me off my feet, out of my mind, and into the stratosphere with a book that transcends the genre. This woman's character insights never fail to leave me breathless and utterly bowled over.
